Tried to check in early as we arrived sooner than expected..sadly we couldn't because our room wasn't yet ready, however no more than 30min later; After leaving to visit nearby areas I received a call that we could come back and check in early as they expedited the readiness of our room! Really happy with the outcome as it was a long drive to get there.
Breakfast is decent, served during great hours (allows for some people to sleep in but still make it in with enough time to eat)

The hotel is convenient to shopping and dining in Simi Valley. The hotel exterior and rooms are very attractive and the front desk employees were friendly and efficient. The hotel is in need of minor maintenance. Our room was in an area that was very noisy due to people walking by and talking loudly in the evening; the doors slam loudly. There isn't much room to place anything up off the floor in both the bedroom or the bathroom. The beds and pillows are very nice. I appreciated the plugs and USB ports on the light bases.

Nice hotel. Very nice staff and excellent amenities. Obviously an older hotel that's been remodeled and upgraded. Bathroom are big but a bit weird because they were an old upgrade. But in general a very nice place for the money. I'd come again.

Posada Best Western was a haven after a long day at the Ronald Reagan Memorial Library which is close by. We were immediately impressed with the fresh look of the lobby. We especially loved the fresh baked cookies awaiting us on the check in counter. The staff was warm and efficient. A young man named Jorge was just a delight in getting us settled in our accommodations. The room we encountered was tastefully decorated in calm and soothing colors. The bed mattress was firm and comfortable! We have to mention the fantastic SHOWER HEAD. We have never experienced such an incredible soothing flow of water. The breakfast was another perk at this hotel. We were treated to the cooks creating our designed omelet. That is really terrific and is included in the cost. Thank you Best Western Posada. We shall return and pass on our perfect experience to others seeking a great place to rest in that area!

The Best Western Posada Royale is in a great location in Simi Valley. The breakfast was outstanding, so many choices, and delicious, too! The staff there were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room very clean and well organized. We had stayed there in the past, when we went to the Ronald Reagan museum, so we remembered how nice it was. We will return again. Great hotel!

We have been enjoying this hotel for 12 years now to visit the grandkids. The accommodations are always restful and quiet and the grounds are very pretty. A nice pool and jacuzzi. Also a wonderful hot breakfast. The upgrades are okay although I thought it looked good the way it was before. We will always come back here as long as the grand kids live in the area

I really can't say enough about how well I was treated. Chris G. Went above and beyond making me feel welcome. He was genuine too! This place is 5 star all the way. It's only $27 more than Motel 6 but the difference is enormous. The wonderful breakfast and the rooms are really very nice. Highly recommend.

The rooms were outdated and being remodeled. There were holes in the walls, doors did not seal properly (could see the light between the door and frame), and found bugs (spider, beetle) in my room. The food was very good! The guacamole was the best! I was there for a conference and needed WIFI, but it was down the entire week of my stay. The outdoor hot tub is wonderful -- very relaxing. The landscaping is pretty. Nestled among the hills, it is a peaceful place to stay, near shopping and nice restaurants.

They service is really good. The room was really clean and neatly presented. Love the art work and it feels very warm. The tub/shower is really nice and deep I can soak in is comfortably. My room has a balcony with a great view of the mountains and pool area. There has been no notice to speak of and it has been very relaxing

We were initially excited to book our family trip here since trip advisor rated it the #1 hotel in Simi Valley! Perhaps, if the stay was shorter and with 1-2 travellers, this hotel MIGHT deserve a 3-star rating. Let me list down why this hotel received a 2-star rating from an 8-day stay, family of 4 travellers.
First, during check-in, we were granted an early check-in time since we came from out of town (Cleveland to be exact), and we were with our 6-yr. and 3-yr. old kids." Hallelujah!", I initially thought. Ana (sp.?) even stated that we should give them a 5-star rating just for that! From that point on, everything was downhill. Why? When asked to present a card for check-in, I gave my debit card. Ana did not disclose that if a debit card was used for the transaction, it will hold the entire amount of the stay!!! When asked to clarify that, Terri B. (the manager) came in to explain. It didn't help that while Terri was explaining, she tapped on the notice placed on the check-in counter. Weary travels tend to overlook posted and written things since the goal is to get to their room first. This frustration could have been avoided if they have clarified FIRST prior to handing our card, and not ASSUME that every guest is aware of this notice.
Second, the room we got was decent. However, it was evident that the renovations were hurriedly done, and looked shoddy. We didn't mind since we only stayed there for resting and sleeping purposes.
Third, be prepared to make sure you have the same # of used towels before you ask for new ones. For example, if you need 4 new towels, you have to have 4 used ones to exchange. This was something new for me. As someone who travels with kids, towels are important. I understand that other guests might be pilfering their towel supply, but please explain this to customers FIRST to avoid frustration.
Overall, I really wanted to love this hotel. The staff in the breakfast room were pleasant and the outdoor area is lovely, but the front desk people, including the manager, Terri B., needs to be trained on customer service! For some travellers, the facilities of a hotel might be enough for a satisfactory stay. However, for us---a family of 4 who travelled across the country, we appreciate more CONSISTENT and EXCELLENT customer service from a hotel. Clearly, Best Western Posada Royale did not hit that mark during our stay.response / report this review -

Great place. As someone who likes to be comfortable when I travel. I don't need an amazing spa resort, but a spot to relax and wind down til the next day. Best Westerns are always clean, fair on price and the staff is always polite. Easily the best place to stay for the price. Nothing else can compare..

The hotel, staff customer service and location are perfect for anyone looking for a safe, clean, friendly place to stay, especially suitable for families, weddings and events. They made reserving our wedding block very easy, and supported each of my guests before and during the stay. Our guests loved the pool and the breakfasts, and we appreciated the customer service and good value.

We stayed at this hotel because we were attending a wedding nearby. The location was excellent. Very close to restaurants and close to the freeway. We stayed in suite which was very big and nicely appointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend staying here if in Simi Valley.

Great hotel for group stays. The front desk staff was nice and helpful. Our room was newly remodeled which made our stay even more comfortable. The air conditioner was a good quality and worked well without much noise. The full breakfast was served hot, and the made to order omelets were delicious.
