I tried the fish and chips..the smell of the fish verified that this "fresh fish" died in the freezer weeks ago. Then I opted for the meatloaf and it was overly salty and gray. I'm not sure what meat that was. I know that this place is an institution in Chicago dining but I clearly don't know what to order there.
My vodka gimlet was good and the staff attentive and polite.

Had the Manhattan Clam Chowder, shrimp cocktail, fried calamari and the ribs. The ribs are advertised as world famous, and they are!! Top notch, some of the best ribs I’ve had. Service was excellently.
I would recommend and will return

Came in and was seated immediately, table for two. Shared 2 apps and one meal. The apps where taken out fast, we where hungry so that was a plus. The meal, mixed pasta with marinera sauce was great. Service was perfect, waiter asked if I needed a second beer when I was about to finish my first, waiter had a few tables. Also tried the hot chocolate since in was freezing outside and it was amazing. Would go back for dinner or drinks.

A classic Chicago bar. It can be crowded, there was an hour wait for a table on the day we went. However we immediately found a spot at the bar. The prime rib sandwich is amazing and at 15$ is a real deal. The place was very busy we got our order within 15 minutes. The bartender was quick and knowledgeable. I would recommend visiting this bar to anyone.

Went for a girls trip with my best friend. Welcoming at first, then after that went down hill. Terrible customer service. Waiter was no where to be found. Other people had to cover for him. Terrible food. Would not go back ever again. Would not recommend either. Terrible experience.

I came in after work, got a seat, and waited 22 min to be acknowledged. I sat and watched my waiter walk by me several times before I could even get him to come serve me. Maybe it's because I was in Street clothes? Maybe because I look young???. I don't know, but it left a bad taste in my mouth and he didn't even feel sorry. At least the food was good 🤷.

Classic Chicago staple, once was the meeting place of golden era movie stars and entertainers. From Marilyn Monroe to Frank Sinatra, the history is rich. That charm is alive and well today. It is still family owned and operated. Last time I was there got to sit down with one of the owners and talk about the history of the place. Definitely check it out if you are a local or traveling through!

Great old school Chicago atmosphere. Beautiful older gentlemen in suits greet you and politely make you feel welcome. Dark wooden structures and stained glass everywhere. Servers in bow ties who take their job seriously. Great prices especially for Chicago. The service was courteous, polite, and attentive. The food was outstanding! I was thinking steak but at the last minute went with the BBQ burger. NOT disappointed - one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time! Delicious to the last bite - I was still going MMmmmm. We had a massive Bob double stroller that they were super gracious about letting us leave up front. My son started feeling bad so we had to leave quickly and our server was so kind and helpful. I'm a fan and next time I'm back in Chicago THIS is on my list of definite returns. Highly recommended especially for families. Bar area looked cool but wasn't able to participate. Cheers!

Great food, great beer, excellent service! I stopped here a few times on my recent trip to Chicago. I was afraid that this place would be a total tourist trap or stereotypical big city pub. I was more than impressed with the beer selection and service. I came back later for a Chicken Caesar Salad to go and was really impressed with the portions! They even gave me an entire brown bag of different kinds of bread/rolls! Hope to stop in again for a beer the next time I'm in Chicago.

Old-school steakhouse atmosphere with classical paintings, wooden walls and dim lighting. Good variety of entrees including salads, sandwiches and barbecue. Reuben sandwich was good, and friends all enjoyed their burgers. Service was underwhelming and drink prices were not great.

The place is fine, except for the "Manager". We had our table and two more friends came in, so we asked for two more chairs as we perfectly fit on the table . The old greek man walked through the table just to say that how could we ask for chairs if we weren't consuming anything and that why are we sitting there for just a beer? We had already ordered ribs and salads, and even though we hadn't, the way he said it was really inconsiderate and rude. You should give every customer the same service and treat them with respect. I feel pity cause this is a good place and this guy just ruined our expectations. Hope you take this the good way and consider that the customer is the most important person for you no matter what.

My friends, husband and I went to this place the first time and it was AMAZING! For a appetizer we had spinach artichoke dip and it was the best I ever had didn't want it to stop! In between that and our entree they brought complimentary different kinds of bread and butter. When it came time for our entree we all loved each of our entree so much we decided to share them with every one in our party. My friends got the steak burger and fries and the other friend got the roasted lamb. Truth be told I can't stand lamb and I have got to say that was amazing they made me love lamb. My mushroom truffle Swiss burger was succulent and moist and my husbands ribs were flavorful and juicy! We would for sure all go to this place again. Great place to eat definitely WON'T disappoint.

Our first time here and we will definitely be back! Wonderful atmosphere, a great place to gather with friends! We got the spinach and artichoke dip and it was some of the best I've ever had! The main food was also fabulous! Between us we had the ribs which are so amazing they fall off the bone, the mushroom truffle burger is full of flavour and so moist, lamb roast that is also delicious and the steak sandwich practicality melted in my mouth! It's definitely been a wonderful experience

This is a great place to go with any company, any age because the menu has something for everybody, and it's all good. Very non presumptuous place. Well stocked bar/tap. Especially good if you're looking for a big meal. Surprisingly, there is a lot of seating here so if you encounter dozens of people waiting for a table before you, be patient. because it wont take long and will be worth it.
