Spectacular hotel with great amenities and restaurants. Check-in and check-out were lightning fast. Check-out time is noon rather than 11:00 a.m. meaning an extra hour in comfortable bed. Free falling rain showerhead open new ways to enjoy morning
Amazing restaurant and service staff as well as management. Rooms are modern with mini fridge and wet bar. Only downfall was you can hear the water running from other rooms and flushing of toilets which echoes through the bathroom all night long. Location is great. No pool or hair salon. Great room service. Checkout is 12 pm could not accomodate for late checkout.
Pretty nicely appointed and in great shape. I like the location being a few blocks from major attractions so it's not so crazy around the hotel. Overly fancy light switch setup didn't work, and a few other nit picks, but generally a good experience. I would advise asking for a higher level room on weekend nights, as the 4th floor bar turns into a noisy nightclub in the evenings. Beds were very comfy, and the shower was very nice.
Great presentation aesthetically but very poor delivery. Windows and doors allow patrons to hear everything. We had the opportunity to witness our floor hosting a party in a few rooms next door and heard it as though we were there. To say the staff responded appropriately to our complaint would be a gross understatement. Staff seemed rather put off by this and other reasonable requests such as an umbrella to borrow in the rain. Don’t judge a book by its cover, this place looks great but just another wannabe glamour hotel built on quick sand.
This hotel is in a fantastic location, well-appointed, and just all around gorgeous. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Loved the beautiful bathroom with HUGE shower. Each staff member we encountered was friendly. I would stay here again in the heartbeat.
Highly recommend the beautiful Godfrey Chicago! Excellent location, cool & fun rooftop bar. Dolce' dinner was wonderful and all the staff was friendly. The room was clean, the beds are comfortable. We did not receive the room reserved/listed online which is the reason for the 4 stars. However, in the end the GM took care of the situation to our satisfaction and we will return on our next trip to the city.
Work Trip, this hotel was very nice. A welcome upgrade over the Felix next door. Large rooms, helpful staff, text concierge, and password less wifi. All good. Really nice bar and meeting rooms with a view!
5 stars for just the Rooftop lounge. Very nice atmosphere. Great location. Prices are reasonable. We liked it so much we went back to back nights. Ask the staff of after hour places to go.
Location was excellent. We asked to be checked in early and were given a room above the rooftop bar- you could definitely hear the bar from the room but it wasn't really loud. The beds are very soft, the shower was very spacious. Only one complaint- we almost ran out of toilet paper on our last day, and there was no replacement roll in the room. Otherwise an excellent hotel experience!
Really nice rooms, and the staff was super friendly. The only weird thing was the lights. They have nice wall switches next to the bed for the lamps and overhead lights. Apparently they don't work for the lamps and they're moving to these weird buttons inside the lampshades. Much less convenient, and there was no indication how to turn on the lights. It was only after we called the front desk and they sent someone up were we told about how to turn on the lamps
The Godfrey Hotel was an amazing experience! The chef created tantalizing dishes for us that my tongue thanked me for over and over. The wines superb. The bar and veranda space overlooked a beautiful Cityscape. I want to go back!
Very modern with large rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows. We were surprised to find such luxuriously decorated rooms for the reasonable price we payed. There is a bar (more like a club) inside the hotel, as well as a restaurant. You will have to pay for parking, but the garage is connected to the hotel. This hotel is very well situated in easy walking distance from Chicago's most popular restaurants (especially for tourists) and many of the better-known bars and clubs. Only issue I could find with the place is that every sound from the bathroom can be heard in the bedroom.
Nice hotel. Good location. Love the rooftop when the weather cooperates. Rooms are nice and clean. The lobby and common elements are nicely done in a contemporary look. Love the Italian restaurant on the ground floor. Food is very good dinner and breakfast is great.
It's a good hotel. The architecture is beautiful, the rooms are clean and spacious and have good views. It's a good location, centrally located. But there were some little things that were not well done, for instance we were not provided with more than 1 bathrobe for 4 people. We also did not have enough coffee and it was all decaf. They did not provide enough towels or washcloths. The parking is really expensive, $45 per 24 hr period. The bar in the hotel is more like a club at night and the drinks are not a good deal. Overall, it is a good stay but not the best.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around
Amazing hotel, great and friendly staff, incredibly welcoming and warm. Nice, up to date rooms with well placed and thinking out amenities. Only problem was some minor housekeeping issues (glasses left behind from previous occupants, no washcloths, only one robe, unplugged lamps) all easily and quickly remedied. Would stay again happily.
