The hotel is very pretty 4 stars. However the rooms are going down hill a little. Still nice but more like a 2 star motel and the conditioner and body wash were already open. Staff was great. A WARNING though, overnight parking is $15 and they don't validate or you can valet for $28.

First the staff at this hotel is great they go above and beyond for the clients. If it was not for the staff i would give it a 1 or 2 star rating. The first room i checked into the shower did not work at all. So we had to be moved rooms i was fine with that, the second room the shower did not drain correctly it took forever but i was not changing rooms again. The wallpaper in the second room is coming off one wall next to the bed. They also are testing the fire alarm system and i have no problem with that but dont do it at 930 in the morning do it in the afternoon when all your guests are checked out think of them before you do anything.

This place has some problems. I don't doubt that at one point this was a really nice hotel but it is well beyond its prime and needs some TLC. My review is based off my stay in room 919. The first issue is parking. You either have to valet for $28 or stay in the public garage next door for $17 (which is not connected to the hotel by the way). I have stayed at hotels that require you park in a city parking garage but they have always had a deal where the parking for their guests was free or heavily discounted. Judging by the interior and exterior here, they probably can't afford to do that but more on that later. Check in went well enough except our room wasn't ready when we got there so we had to wait for it. Next HUGE problem was the elevator situation. There were three elevators for our wing of the hotel and one of them was broken. The hotel was extremely busy so we had to wait a minimum of 10 minutes to go up or down on the elevator. We were there Saturday and they said they weren't having it fixed until Monday. Again, probably couldn't afford to pay weekend rates to have it fixed when it should have been. We took the stairs down on a couple of occasions because we were pretty sure the elevator was never coming and the stairwells smelled like pee extremely bad. I have no idea why the doors aren't locked from the outside to prevent them from being used as toilets. Onto the room the bathroom had stains on the floors and bathtub and there was rust on the fixtures. The stopper in the bathtub was falling apart. The handyman who installed the handicap rail in the shower was terrible. The tile around it was cracked and there are big holes around it where they didn't properly cut the tile. Pretty ghetto. One positive was the water pressure was decent. The bed was pretty bad. Sheets were very rough and the mattress was very uncomfortable. I saw other reviews about them being comfortable so maybe it was just my room but it was clearly just old and awful. The lack of outlets is disturbing. There was literally a surge protector plugged in under the night stand. A cheap, white surge protector. If that isn't classy then I don't know what is. Lighting was very dim. Decor was weird and dated as was the carpet. A couple of good things being that the AC worked well and they have Samsung TVs which was nice. Vending machines were out of stock of just about everything. Never tried any food there because it was too busy. The saving grace for this hotel is the location. Right in the heart of downtown so you can walk in any direction and find something to eat or do including the Reds stadium and Bengals stadium. Staff was friendly. However, for the price this place is absolutely not worth it. It would have to be $50 or less for me to stay here because that's the quality you're getting and even at that it's mainly for the location. This hotel needs a revamp in a bad way. Maybe they could go on that hotel rehab show on the Travel Channel?

Pros: Great downtown location near tons of restaurants, stores and bars. Great staff. Cons: Our room had stained carpet. The hotel could use some updates and no free parking. Valet is $28.00 additional dollars a day and Self park is either hourly or $17.00 overnight but no in and out service with the self park set rate.

I gave it one star for the location only. I find it hard to believe this is a 4 star hotel. The rooms are very outdated and just look gross. I paid for a room with a "view" which it did not. We had to fight bugs in our room and one of the beds were broken. If u pay 200.00 a night to stay, parking should be included!! They did not even have lotion or conditioner available!! I've stayed at Holiday Inns that were 100x better!! I will never stay here again.

Very dated hotel. Doesn't appear to be very well taken care of, but was fine for a single night. Bathroom didn't have a vent, which over time seems to have left the room smelling quite musty. I would imagine that's the case in all of the rooms.

Nice location near the streetcar line, riverfront park, and decent restaurants.

Most of the place is being renovated. Our room was very worn looking. The bathroom tiles in the tub where blackened and the fan was completely molded over. The AC unit was in full blast but even then didn't make too much of a difference in the room. We stayed here for 3 nights and our room wasn't cleaned at all after the first night. For the price of the stay, it was a great value. Bed was comfortable and the pool was nicely kept.
The staff was awesome, they seem very professional and kind. I am hoping that once they finish updating rooms that it will be a great place to stay. I am just a big stickler for cleanliness in bathrooms and I felt very very unclean in the bathroom.

Good location downtown near attractions, with easy nearby parking. Rooms are adequate, nothing to write home about but simple and tasteful. Service was good, and the restaurant food was tasty even though full dinner service ended early, changing to a late night menu at eight pm. Pool was nice, not crowded and kept clean. If you're the type that is just in a hotel to sleep, would recommend.

You can't beat the location and price! We came to go to the Reds gameand loved being in walking distance. Valet parking is $28 dollars a day. But, there is a parking garage right next door that's $17 a day. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! Our view on the 25th floor was breath taking. Hotel is outdated..but we didn't mind. We loved the pool! The only compliant I havewould be the shower. Very weak water pressure and stream. It took forever to get my shampoo out of my hair. I think that could be fixed with a new shower head. Overall, we recommend.

The room to which I was assigned was sparse. At best. One double sized bed in a room which could easily furnish a king, curtains which didn't quite come to the floor allowing far too much light in, and an accessible bathroom with decor suitable for a rural hospital. No refrigerator. Manually operated window unit AC. To top it off housekeeping left NO soaps, shampoo, or conditioner. The replacement room contained the latter, but also had the same poorly covered windows. The bathroom, albeit smaller, was better in this room however; at least it had a shelf around the sink to place items.

The location is spot on!! Shopping, eating, the fountainall of it! I had a beautiful view from the 22nd floor. The restaurant, bar, foodwonderful! I loved the hotel although it is certainly dated. It's beautiful and obviously used to be the best in town. I would definitely stay here again.

Not a bad place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of the stadiums and not spend a fortune. Rooms are a little small, but good enough for a short stay. The king bed was surprisingly good despite being rather hard feeling, and the pillows weren't just empty sacks like most hotels.

This was my second time staying here and I was disappointed and will never be staying here again. The customer service that we received was awful. We checked in at 9.00pm and asked for a crib for room 1953. They told us they had one and after about an hour one was brought up but it was faulty so they had to get another one. They called a few times to give us an update however a few of those times we couldn't pick up the phone (phone wasn't working properly) because it kept sticking and hanging up. Also after an update stating they didn't have anymore and that they were going to check with the Hyatt hotel across the street, we never got an update. At midnight, we got fed up waiting for one and went to sleep. At the very least, someone could have given us an ETA or just said sorry we don't have any more cribs. So instead of going to sleep at a decent hour, we waited til midnight for no reason. :( Also, one of the bed covers were dirty with something. In general the overall experience just really turned me off and was nothing compared to the last time I stayed here.
