Rooms could use a more thorough clean especially in corners behind beds and especially in the bathroom. They did get new sheets where there arent stains on every set of sheets or blankets. Its affordable but still room for better cleanliness and sanitation. Service was awesome

Our stay at the Microtel Inn in Southern Pines was our first, but it won't be our last! From the moment we entered the hotel, we were "Wowed" by the attention to detail given by the clerk who checked us in. There was a monitor on the wall behind the check-in desk that showed a security camera's shots around the hotel both inside and outside. That gave us a sense of security about our stay there. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was definitely adequate for us during our weekend stay. The room was clean, and the mattress and pillows were so comfortable! The next morning, we ate in the breakfast room, and we were surprised to see not only the standard Belgium waffle iron but also a pancake maker that made the most delicious pancakes in no time flat! The attendant, Angela, lived up to part of her name because she was an angel to us each morning. She was attentive without being too much so, but she wanted to accommodate our needs and wants. The breakfast bar included anything you could want for breakfast, and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable with guests talking animatedly among themselves. Truly, it felt like home. . . . but better! You didn't have to cook or clean-up! Our stay was so pleasant and comfortable, and we talked with other guests who had been staying there for years. Plus, the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend staying at this great place with a super location next to many good restaurants in town. Yet, it is tucked off the highway just enough to give a sense of privacy. We rate it EXCELLENT!

Microtel in Southern Pines is far beyond my expectations. It's very quiet and very well maintained. The desk Clerks are very nice and helpful. This is a golfing area, however., I'm not a golfer and I came here to meet someone that is working here for a short time and moving on to another job, but I will definitely plan a stay in Southern Pines again. Most likely at the Microtel. ( very nice place)

Been staying here for YEARS! But no more. This past Saturday while waiting in line to check in the ladies in front of me checked in and when to the room. Only to shortly to come back and say that the room was not made up , and the TV was on (maybe someone in the shower). The manager gave them a new room and they went on their way. When I tried to check in and the manager had no record of my reservation even with a confirmation code. No worries, gave me a new room. Again the room was dirty, bed unmade and TV on (different room). So they gave me a handicap room (with a standard tub - if you were in a wheelchair not sure how well that would work). Room was clean, but spotty paint job, old dry paint on the bathroom floor, streaky paint on the walls. What ever just needed a place to sleep. The folks in the room above were stomping around. Never had a noise issue like this with hotels before.
Spoke to my friend who was also staying at the Microtel. She too got a handicap room because that was all that was available. The shower floor was rotting away!
In the back parking lot there was a car up on blocks and all of the tires AND wheels were missing. I won't be returning.response / report this review -

The room is about what you would expect from this level of hotel. It isn't exactly clean, the comforter could easily be mistaken for a sheet, the ac unit took several hours to cool the room to less than roughly the temperature outside, and the wifi was broken my entire stay. In the end it isn't the worst place you could stay at, but there are definitely much better hotels if you're willing to pay a bit more.

I hoping for a better room since I heard there had been new renovations. No. Room was very outdated, bathroom was moldy, and light outlets buzzed. Continental breakfast was ok.
We were able to get early check-in, but I would not come back until rooms were completely updated.response / report this review -

This was the first time staying here and we were really impressed. The staff was outstanding and displayed​ the meaning of hospitality. The rooms were very clean but a little cramped for a 5 night stay. We would have no problem staying here again. Keep up the good work!

The room was fine but it was kind of dirty, I found a tennis ball, a cigar splitter, old batteries and dirt in our room. Besides that it was fine and it normally is fine .good hotel in general
