Literally took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. The service is poor and staff don't even know their own menu. This Place sucks ass.last time I ever come..not worth it!
Sunday, December 9, 2017 1:30pm the waiting adventure for 2 begins at Riverside's Mezcal Cantina y Cocina. I walk up to the host stand and no one is there. A few minutes later a man(the host) shows up explaining that a big party that they were not expecting had just shown up and it was chaotic inside. He took my name and said it would just be a few minutes to sit us, a party of 2. As we wait, we witness the host get into an argument with a potential customer; they both start shouting at each other as the customer walks aways. 15 minutes later we are finally seated only to walk into a restaurant with more than 10 empty tables! 10 empty tables!!! How is that possible after we waited 15 minutes to be seated? Anyways, we sit down and it takes another 5 minutes for the waitress to make her first appearance, we ask for bottomless mimosas. 10 minutes later she comes back and lets us know that they are all out of champagne, we order beer instead. As we wait for our beers, we see a waiter continuously serving mimosas to another table. I thought there was no more champagne? Our beers are finally served and we immediately order our food to avoid anymore waiting! 15 minutes after we place our order the waitress comes back and asks "you order a quesadilla and the Benedict eggs riiiight?" Are you kidding me lady?!!!! YES! That is what we ordered. After waiting for 32 minutes to get our food it finally arrives. Its cold and bland and nothing like what the reviews had mentioned. We patiently wait for Jon Taffer to show up from behind the scenes and tell us that we are just part of the new Bar Rescue episode. Sadly, he never shows up, this was indeed the real deal. Finally, our joyous experience at Mezcal is over. We leave disappointed and promise ourselves to never come back to this poorly executed establishment.
Had reservations for a Christmas party. It strarted off okay meals took an excess off 45 min to receive that was the start of evening of total direspect, we left our seats for a few minutes after ordering another appetizer, the food along with our chairs were gone when we returned the rudest darn bouncer that looked like the grinch after asking were can we sit too return to our party said you can't sit here its for VIP well can I get a chair to finish my food we were told no go sit in the Boothe or the couch within a total of 30 min were moved 6 times again now mind you this was a Christmas party we had reserved by this time I so upset that your treatment turn to if you can't afford those three bottles of alcohol which I'm sure wasn't cheap after purchasing a high price drink at the bar you once have to move again the treatment you get if you are not a big baller is pure disrespectful save your money if you ever have to visit this place they need a course in customer service and how to handle all customers and not the just ones you see dollar signs on you should be ashamed of yourselves this is not a High Roller club like you seem to think PEOPLE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR RESPECT AND DIGNITY AND DONT RESERVE A PARTY HERE IF YOU PLAN BEING TREATED LIKE YOU DONT EXIST IF YOU ARE NOT DROPPING $500 DOLLARS ON THIS PLACE FOR THOSE 3 BOTTLES. SMH
Great food and customer service. Great prices for the amount of food on the happy hour menu.
Might be more of a 3.5. Fun environment. Good service. Pretty good food.
Beautiful place, great vibe, food is amazing, one of the best Chile Verde' s I have ever had.
Came for the mayweather/ mcgregor fight. Cool atmosphere, good food and an accommodating staff.
Date night with the wife @ Mezcal last Sunday was a hit. The decor and ambiance 👍. The customer service was top notch (Paolo our waiter was beyond cool and helpful) The salmon in poblano sauce is a must. Also, you have to try the cantarito.
It's so hot inside. As a restaurant, who serves people living in 100 degree weather, you would think they would turn up the AC. Nope. Absolutely not. Their drinks are too pricey for the size.
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant, I think I need to revisit for a honest review. I am not very big on breakfast and the time we got there that was all they were offering and I did not care for my food. The atmosphere is great our server was on point. And I just had a glass of champagne, cant complain about that. I will try again for dinner. (Reporting back soon)
“Just don't ”
We were walking and it was a very busy night so the six of us decided not to wait the hour to two hours of the restaurants were offering. Oddly enough this place had no wait we received a mediately. We figured out why later. The food was actually OK and the service also adequate. The atmosphere was very very
We had some good food here. Stopped in on a whim. Packed as I have seen before.
The nachos we had were sooo good.
Their salsa is awesome. Has a chipotle flavor and we got some to go. Jamie, our waitress, offered excellent service. Thank you again Jamie.
We will be back. The atmosphere is colorful, lively- good energy. Everyone was pleasant.
Stop in for dinner, or drinks and appetizers.
Outdoor seating with heat lamps available.
The overall ambiance of the restaurant was very interesting. The artwork on the walls was very appealing to the eyes which made waiting for food a little bit easier. Although it took a long time for us to get seated because the restaurant is not that large, the food arrived fairly quickly. The menu is not that extensive and there is no kids menu, but you can ask for something off the menu if it appears like they would have it. For instance, a bean and cheese burrito wasn't on the menu but the waiter told us that they can make it for my son.
Dinner Thursday evening 6:30. Great service and Happy Hour prices! The nachos were outstanding and could have been dinner . The Albondigas soup is delicious but pretty spicy. Fish tacos better than Mission Inn's Mexican restaurant! The decor is very beautifully done. This place will be hopping once the holiday crowd comes downtown!
I had a fantastic experience at Mezcal last night (Sunday Eve). We were welcomed warmly by the host, and invited to seat ourselves. The restaurant was only 20% occupied. We were very well taken care of by our server, Paolo, who was perfectly on the ball with drink and chip refills throughout the night. The food was top notch, and definitely worth it for the price (14-20$ entrees). The margaritas were also excellent (8-12$). They have groupon deals if you want to be safe trying out this restaurant, but the cleanliness, friendliness, and quality of the establishment were excellent and highly recommended. 10/10 will eat again!
