One of the premier/legacy medium sized live music and event locations in Chicago. Fairly good sound system, more importantly the right staff to run the board. From the performer side looking out, people seem to enjoy shows more here Vs some other locations. It all comes down to the little details, and while not perfect Metro gets most of the important details right.

Fantastic venue to see a show if you're like me and prefer a more intimate setting. Standing room only, except for a few booths tucked in the back of the balcony. General admission means you can get right up next to the stage and the performers.

For the harder shows it gets to the perfect density for high energy crowds. Great views from almost anywhere. It can get packed, coat check can take a while when you get out, and the bar is cash only just fyi

One of my favorite concert venues. Right near Wrigley Field. A lot of nice history and locations near it. I saw a phenomenal show performed by Garbage where Shirley Manson was on her game.

Metro is a classic Chicago music institution. It continues to be dirty enough to host acts effectively and has amazing sound. Their use of eTix is great, and they have decent beer and mixed drinks. Staff is courteous and unobtrusive. As far as small / mid size venues go, Metro is the best.

Great place for a show. Exactly the way you'd expect awful bathrooms, strange people, unique and incredible atmosphere and legendary staff. Cash only with an ATM on premises ($2.75 fee).

Really fun intimate live show venue. Great views from anywhere and two batts for your convenience. Located in a fun neighborhood with plenty to do.

I like the artists that play here, and I saw some really great concerts. However, I'm still nursing wounds sustained from the last concert that I went to there over a month ago. I won't be going back. I was standing on the main floor to the side of the stage, and was hit in the face by a cell phone that I suspect was dropped from the balcony.I retrieved the weapon, I mean phone. I sustained a deep, bloody gash and my cheek was bruised for a week. My cut hasn't completely healed after a month. I sought medical attention from the EMT on site who really couldn't do much except wipe away the blood. I wasn't even offered an ice pack. I ended up missing almost half of the second set. When I asked bartender Kelly if I could receive some type of compensation - a free ticket to another show, anything- she dismissively pointed to a 8.5 x 11 paper on the wall that stated that concertgoers were at their own risk and Metro wasn't liable for injuries. At that point it was clear that Metro really didn't give a crap, and medically couldn't do more for me. I left with the phone because I didn't know what else to do with it. The next day Kelly called me asking for the phone, as this was way more important to her than the significant cut and bruise I sustained at the concert. The customer service here is the crappiest that I've experienced. I would be reluctant to allow my child attend an all ages show here.

The place has history, but it's still pretty great. Went there all the time when living in Chicago. Great sound, great staff, easy to navigate.

There was a bit of concern with the "Reserved" seating that popped up, not very rock n' roll of you ask me. Not sure if it's still there, but that would be the only complaint

This was my first time at Metro. I'm 48 and after attending over 200 concerts in my day, I am surprised I never saw a show here. I recently saw Echosmith here with my 17 year old daughter. I knew it was standing room only so I panicked a bit knowing I was going to be in a mosh pit. We got there early and decided to head upstairs to the balcony and had a great arial shot of the stage. No crowds to fight and the sound was really good.

I was at a venue this past Sunday. I became ill and was assisted by the staff. ..All I can say is "Thank You"I was taken to the first aid area immediately and was taken care of. Richard, you are such a wonderful person for taking care of me. ..Every one there was professional and caring. ..Amazing Staff!!Thank you all!
