I work in the same building as South Branch Tavern So one night, when I had to stay late at work, I decided to order from South Branch for dinner.
I walked out of my building - since there isn't an entrance directly into the restaurant from the building - and walkes into the restaurant to place my take out order (since I called like 3 times and no one ever answered).
When someone finally noticed that I was waiting to place my order, I ordered the South Branch burger, made medium-well with a side of tator tots.
While I waited The atmosphere was awesome. It was a week night and the place was packed. I can't speak of their drinks or bar service since I've never had a drink there.
I finally got my meal and I went back to my office to finally eat dinner and low and behold, the burger did not look appealing at all! I cut in half to see if my eyes were deceiving me and to my surprise, they were not.
The bottom bun was just limp and full of the red juices from the burger I get it, I ordered it medium-well but I didn't expect it to be SO pink inside. I was actually disgusted on how poorly the burger was made cause when I picked up the half that I cut, it just fell apart.
This isn't my first time ordering a burger made medium-well, so you can possibly imagine my surprise when I was so hungry and couldn't touch the burger at all.
I just ate the tots with the bacon and avocado that the burger came with and thru it away.
I had at at South Branch before and I was so appalled at the way that it was presented as take out.

The veggie 'burger' tasted liked mashed sweet potatoes and the tator tots were saltier than the pickle. The guacamole was good though.

I would say I had an overall good experience. Its beautiful inside and the patio gets really crowded in the summer. Lots of working people there, great for an after work drink or happy hour.

The food wasnt out of the world special- burgers and wraps etc. But it was well prepared, and well presented. The waiters and managers arre friendly and helpful. Oh and the cookie dough dessert is to DIE for.

I would go back for a drink and the ambiance.

This was a nice experience. The food was good and unique. The drinks were tasty and the staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside would be the location. It is located right at the end of a bridge which makes getting picked up a little more difficult than a typical occasion, but it was worth it.

Delicious and inexpensive food! I normally get a bacon, egg, cheese sandwich on wheat with the eggs scrambled softly. After a few mis steps with over cooked eggs, now my sandwich is perfect. Friendly staff who know your order as you step up to the counter, what could be any better in customer service?

Great service and awesome location! The waiter and busser were both so friendly and attentive. However, the food was incredibly bland. I ordered a veggie burger and the texture was off putting and soo bland! I would have put salt on it had they had any on the table same goes for the cheese curds. I probably wouldn't eat here again for the price. But the servers do a really great job!

The most busy place in the world. Good food but they got rid of my favorite menu item. But the rest is pretty good. Nice service, prompt but most of the hosts give no f*cks.

This place is a staple location for happy hour but fills up very fast and gets very loud, even around the tables. Definitely make reservations if you can plan ahead. I've also attended a small catered corporate event here. They provide some standing tables and cater apps, and the food was fine. The waitress did a great job delivering drinks accurately and quickly for a large group of people.

One of my favorite happy hour spots right on the river. Good on weekdays. And has an outdoor bar in the summer.

Went here for a Sunday night with parents because they saw a very compelling episode of Check Please! Dinner was fabulous, I had the squid ink pasta which was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and service was quick!

Great food, service and ambience. I've been here several times and always enjoy the subsequent visits. It's nice for lunch or after work happy hour type events.
