I had my baby there a couple months ago and the care there was amazing. They focused on always making sure my pain was under control, they cared about how I was feeling emotionally. The facility was under construction and they were very apologetic about the noise and offered to have me transfer, but it wasn't bad at all. The nurses were very caring and compassionate and made me feel comfortable. One of the nurses held my hand as I had my spinal block put in for my C-section and kept assuring me I was doing good. It was a great experience.
My husband recently had surgery at Mercy Health Saint Mary's. From the time we checked in through our entire stay, the staff and surgeons were exceptional! From the compassionate care we received to the knowledge and expertise they brought to the table, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. We are so lucky to have such a quality hospital in our West Michigan community!
Went into the ER and loved friendly staff were, attention to detail, and tried to get me home as soon as possible. It was a busy night in the ER, but the staff did not let that affect my care. They gave me as much time as I needed. I was impressed with how they process patients too. I like that after being triaged they collect your blood and urine first. So when you are called back to a room the doctor has your results. Stream lines care!
My dad was a patient at St. Mary’s with a terminal illness. The staff at Lacks Cancer Center went above and beyond for my dad and our family. The nurses were very compassionate and caring. Because my experience with St. Mary’s was so positive during a difficult time, I decided I wanted to work there. I have worked at Spectrum Health and now St. Mary’s and the culture of St. Mary’s is so welcoming. I love working for a faith based organization.
My recent visit to the ER was wonderful. They took my back right away, drew blood, and asked questions. When I seen the doctor she was very detailed. All staff were friendly and caring. I left the visit with a diagnosis, care plan, and prescription. Wonderful staff, care, and service!
I have had several surgeries there, two of which involved overnight stays and I have always been happy with the care I received and the way I was treated, and the staff have always been great! I've been to the emergency room several times, mostly with my daughter or sister, and the treatment is good, but I almost always can expect to be there several hours, even when they're not real busy. It just seems to take a while.
These people treat me so well and make me feel cared for. I trust them 100% and would recommend to anyone. Excited to deliver!
My husband had surgery on October 9. We had one perception of St. Mary's and realized this is not the St. Mary's of past. The wing we were in was very modern. And the staff was EXCEPTIONAL. Every person we came into contact with was professional and compassionate. I was updated timely on his status and the surgeon took time to make sure I understood what happened and where we were at. And the nurses.just everything you would hope for. My husband had a potential unrealistic goal of going home. They worked with him to meet his goals and he went home that night. I have a new appreciation for Mercy Health and we are very thankful to everyone who treated us well. Also liked how it still had a small hospital feel, with all of the modern technology.
How you guys treated me was excellent, HOW EVER, how you treated my mother was unnecessary and unacceptable. I just didn't want her in the room when I got my HIDA scan, but you even kicked her out of the waiting room Really? She didn't to anything wrong other than being a normal over protective parent.
Treatment was fine. Their billing practices shouldn't be legal, and aren't in most countries. The first bill you receive will be much too high, and you will keep on receiving bills for months. Any little thing might be the cause of a separate line item costing hundreds or thousands, or a random bill ten months later.
My husband received stellar care from everyone starting in ER to the orthopedic unit and OR. We could not have been any happier with the professional level of all the providers.
Was forcibly removed from St Mary's on 5/12/17. Came in for a massive headache (two plus days), along with breathing problems from a tracheostomy. Blood pressure was increasing during my stay and nothing was done about it. DIscharged with a BP of 216/105? That is NOT SAFE. I ended up blacking out when I got down to the shelter. The doctor was also rude as hell, accusing me of being "belligerent" because I tried to look at the BP/O2 monitor then was told I was rolling my eyes. Since I can not speak, she turned away and wouldn't even let me TRY to defend myself. Then, to make matters worse, I was DENIED a second opinion, and was physically PUSHED out the back door by some fat mother fu**er from security. If you value your safety, Do NOT go to St Mary's. You will be shoved out like yesterday's garbage.
I had two tests done that I never had before. Both technicians in each department were wonderfulSense of humor, calming aspect..,have nothing but good things to say My husband has had many treatments at St.Mary's.,,All the staff members we met were nice, polite and personable..
I fell on Saint Mary's Hospital in irSeptember and all I got was an air cast and a VERY RUDE DOCTOR AND NURSE. The nurse brought in a shot to supposedly to help me to stop throwing up due to the pain in my ankle. I really expected better from the hospital. That's okay, because due to THEIR NEGLIGENT BEHAVIOR I am now looking into during the hospital. I'm NOT one of those people who sue other's at the drop of a hat, but their behavior was reprehensible. I'm glad that I took pictures of the spot where I fell,so my lawyer can show just how NEGLIGENT the entire place is. A New day and a New illness yesterday. From the time that I checked in to Now, up on the 8th floor as a patient, I have to say that the doctors, nurses and all the support staff has been immensely caring and just want to make the patients feel genuinely better. I'm just hoping that the new practice of treating the patients like we aren't doing for them.Way to go Saint Mary's Hospital, Emergency Department.
I have had several procedures at this hospital and one surgery. The staff was always friendly, courteous, attentive and professional. Grand Rapids is lucky to have such a facility.
