One of those places that everyone likes to stop at. Friendly employees and stores with a little bit of everything, you can pretty much find whatever you can imagine. Even the world's smallest post office and live bluegrass music!

This is a great store just down the road from the more visited Mast General Store Annex. It has different items not at the annex. It still is the location for the town post office with the old brass doors. A must see, way cool!

Me and my cousins went to the Original Mast General Store to get candy. They have candy and drinks. They have chocolate, chewing gum, Skittles, and some sour candy. They have Sprite, Coke, water, Powerade, and Gatorade. The candy was 7.99 a pound. The service was great and the staff were very nice and the candy was good. They also sell shirts and toys. I will probably go to the Original Mast General Store again when I go back to North Carolina.

THIS is the store to visit. The schoolhouse has discounted shoes and boots (arranged by size). The store on the main level has the true general store feel with anything from tacks to carriage bolts (much of it NOT made in China!). There are the obligatory high prices clothing racks, but they also carry quality camping/backpacking gear. Then there's the area for the decorator too. All around a great place to visit!

Beautiful store! It was like stepping back in time. There was even live music on the porch. They were very busy and some areas were tight to move around but there is a lot to see and I could've spent hours here. Definitely will visit again!!

Fun, historic general store with unique, old-fashioned groceries/candies. Tons of addional shopping in connected buildings. Really something to see!

I love going to Mast stores, but this one is the best for me. Walking into the store is like taking a trip back in time. Its not that hard to imagine the old timers gathered there. They have a fantastic candy selection, and the rest of the products in the store are all top quality. They might not be the cheapest place to get merchandise, but they are worth the little bit extra to make sure they stay in business.

The place is amazing, wonderful old original items and it's a historians joy to see. I felt some vibes in the store (for those who believe in residual feelings/moments) which made the visit all the more interesting they also had toys I haven't seen since I was in elementary school! They carry sooooo much and more

So nostalgic I've spent hours browsing this store while on vacation since l was a little girl. So many unique things to look at and buy. There's something for everyone. Even if you aren't into shopping there's an old fashioned still functioning post office and lots of antiques to look at.

After living in Knoxville for 20 years, we're really familiar with Mast General Store for high end outdoor gear, and unique items that take you back to another place in time. We stopped here for our second time this past weekend, and stumbled upon the Red School building which has discounted shoes, socks etc. We got a great deal on some Sperry boots for my wife, and Farm to Feet socks for skiing. Saved over 50% off retail, and never knew this area existed. Check it out along with the cool merchandise offered in the Original store. Such a great throwback in time with original floors, and creaky stairs! Loved it
