$20 to get in but worth it. The trail is amazing with great sites. The habitat is small but nice to see the wild life animals. The bridge is great with great sites. There are different trails that are great. It's a site to defiantly see.

Still, as always, a great place to visit with much to see and do with an exceptionally helpful and informed staff throughout the park. Definitely worth the admission price. A must visit site for first time and repeat NC visitors!

Hard to get a glimpse of the cougar. The viewing area was packed. If you're planning a trip here I suggest you have 4 wheel Drive. Its pretty steep towards the top. My van almost didnt make it. Beautiful views!! No fences, so watch your kids.

This place was amazing hiking wise. The main area where the bridge is was a little congested but it was the main part where everyone goes so that makes sense. The trails have ladders if you're trying to go to the top of the mountain it can be a little rough but worth it. As long your not afraid of heights!

If you are a mountain lover this place is the epitome. Beautiful park nicely maintained . Can go for hiking or have a picnic (as they got many picnic places) There is a museum and a small wildlife park with it. An amazing place for any nature lover as well as entertaining place for kids.

Worth every penny! There is a small animal reserve and an education center. Of course the main attraction is the pinnacle itself which is both inspiring and a little terrifying (in a good way). My little ones enjoyed climbing on the rocks and exploring the trails.

I'm giving this 5 stars because of the beauty of the place, and nice buildings and beautiful animal habitats. But, the Swinging Bridge was not all it's made out to be. It isn't a mile high at all, so I'm not sure why they call it that.

Not scary at all. It only moves a little in high wind, but it DOESN'T swing! Promise!

It was very windy up by the bridge so hang on to your hat or it could easily blow away in high winds.

The gift shop is very nice as is the building with the grill. Great coffee! Beautiful gift shop there there too! Make sure to try out the amazing chimes hanging outside that gift shop.

There's also a nice theatre that was showing a film about plants on the mountain and probably other related things (didn't have time to watch it unfortunately, but I checked out the film for a minute. So it's a nice place to sit and learn about the mountain.

There's also a little museum that displays rocks, gems, and scuptures of birds of the area.

Just take your time driving on the hairpin turns. Better to take a smaller car to navigate those or go when it's not busy so you can take wider turns without other cars around.

Make sure to ask for the free CD they give at the entrance. It's like having your own personal tour guide along with you. Well worth it and it makes a great souvenir! Well narrated with very good music!

Learn as much as you can before you go about the place. You'll appreciate it even more for all the special and unique features here. I got a kick out of the Forrest Gump turn! Yes they filmed there and Tom Hanks showed up for a visit, although it was his brother who appeared as his stand in in the scene where he's running on that turn. The guide CD explains all!

I would appreciate some vegan options at the restaurant and some non dairy milk options, including the ice cream that's sold there. We would have gladly gotten something to eat if vegan was available. I'm adding this because the Grandfather Mountain staff reads these reviews. Hopefully they will give that consideration.

Beautiful hikes and views, but they should really adjust their entrance fee policy. If you show up 1-2 hours before closing, perhaps it should be half off.

I love this place. For some it may seem a bit pricey but it is worth the cost of admission and it goes to a great cause. Just experiencing the drop in temperature and increased wind as you climb the mountain is quite incredible. Climbing on the rocks is fun, the zoo is great, and walking on the bridge is the big finale.

This spot has something for everyone. The visitor's center and animal park are great for little kids and there are plenty of hiking trails for all levels of experience. Gorgeous views and vistas no matter what you do there.
