Iv been coming here for years. At this time of year and they always have the lobby decorated for Christmas. And when I walked in (12-1-17) there was nothing here. And when I asked why they didn’t decorate I was told they had other thing to do smh. Very disappointed in this place.

Very comfortable place. Big open lodge in the main room, nice service, it's dated but comfortable. Not dirty very clean.

Very pleasant atmosphere, check in was smooth and friendly, lobby was very large with lots of great woodwork, enjoyed the game room. Swimming pool and hot tub were very clean and the room was very comfortable. Great price and close to area attractions. Spectacular views. Highly recommend this place to stay at!!

Great location in the mountains. Close to Boone area attractions and Grandfather mountain. However, the Lodge and its accomodations are very old and in need of updating. Most of the staff are friendly.

I have stayed here a couple times when I visit Boone, NC. I love the lodge layout and homey feel. The staff is great. And well I love coffee and they keep it hot there! Also the pool tables, inside pool, hot tub, and mini arcade are a plus. Great for snowboarders, skiers, or family and friends just looking to have a good time together

The location of the lodge is awesome . Can witness nice sunrise in the mornings . We were six of us and stayed in a room with four beds . The fifth and sixth was a sofa come bed which was really bad . It was like sleeping on thorns . I would suggest not even advertising this as a place for six- only place for four . This particular room was kind of small for six people . The wifi was good . The lodge had a nice swimming pool , a hot tub and a really tiny gym .overall decent experience . Also , I noticed people leaving their pets in the cars overnight because the lodge does not allow pets inside . I felt it was partially the responsibility of the lodge to ensure no pets are kept in the car overnight and also to advertise not to choose this lodge if you have pets .

The hotel is not appealing at first glance however once you go in its quite sweet! The hotel has a large lobby with vaulted ceilings a geougous fireplace. Theirs a nice deck and bridge overlooking a small waterfall and an outdoor cookout area. The indoor pool and jacuzzi is nice, they also have a sauna and workout space. The hotel offers, games, dvd rentals, pool table, you can make your own fire in the massive fire place, etc. The rooms are not updated however still spacious we had a suite with separate rooms and a living space with a small kitchen and full size fridge. The guest all mingle and get along great together!! It's that's country home feeling you want.

I cannot say enough good things about Smoketree. The staff has ALWAYS accommodated us EVERY time we made a reservation. Convenient to Boone, Linville Falls, Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk downtown. Great Rates! Indoor pool and hot tub.
