I went to macon occupational on Thursday and was apprehensive because if bad reviews I read but as of my visit on Thursday this is a friendly, clean, and professional center and i was seen by a white girl with black hair and she was friendly and i was there with 10 others and we were in and out in about 30 minutes. Very clean place and staff. Thanks. Big rave to you guys.
so the first time I went for a drug test the guy that helped me was professional and very nice. I just recently went back and had a lady who did my drug test who was pretty rude. She made a big deal about me flushing the toilet, made me take off my jacket, and empty my pockets. I understand that this is just procedure but try being a little nicer about it. I mean the customer service end kinda stinks. The people at the front office are always friendly though.
This is without a doubt the worst place I have ever had to deal with. I had to come here for a drug screen and physical for school. The doctor I had I was so rude and rushed I didn't even know his name until I called up there the next day. They are a money pit. I have back troubles which have been well maintained & taken care of by my other doctors. This doctor would not even perform the physical that I paid for there. I had to have 3 other doctors clear me & report back to MOM. They never told me whether I was cleared or not, so I had to call in personally to ask. Then I had to call again months later because they never sent my report to my school. This place is ridiculous & they do not care about their clients. Several of my cohorts agreed that they were made to feel very uncomfortable and this place was very unprofessional. I will never use this place again!
Macon Occupatioal Medicine is performing a wonderful service to the community. When one considers the volume of clients they are servicing it is amazing to see how well they perform under such conditions.
Finally, we need to be fair and objective in condemning or judging Macon Occupatioal Medicine or the staff for that matter. Many of you go there with unrealistic expectations to begin with. Take some responsibility, you are far from Mr. or Miss Universe. They can only do so much, for the impossible you need God.
I would not recommend going to this place ever. The staff is so rude and made me feel uncomfortable. To many ppl in waiting room. I went to take a drug screen for an important job and the girl made me redo the screen while waiting to redo it went outside to make some phone calls and I came back in the drug screen lady asked me all kinds of questions like what was doing outside, why did u leave empty your pockets I have to watch you urinate in the cup because you stepped outside. She told me since I stepped out the building it was a failure. This place is not good. Horrible rude staff. I would NEVER recommend this place to anymore. Don't go here if you like to be treated like trash.
Service is fast depending on what service you are there for. I had a tb shot today. Was in and out 7 minutes top. Macon-Bibb employees or hirees are priority.
Long Wait but Great Doctor and Nurses/Staff
Cut off the tip of my thumb working food service. They were called prior to my arrival because of the nature of my injury (food plus dirty knife plus literally the tip of my thumb cut off so that is any bacteria from the knife and food directly to my blood stream, thus a high risk of infection) and I was unable to get it to stop bleeding. It still took them THREE hours to even get me back. Three hours to even look at my injury. Three hours for it to even be cleaned. All I honest cared about was getting my tetanus shot as soon as possible and having the injury cleaned, and I would have sat back in the waiting room until called back to actually have it taken care of. So the wait on my first visit, on a Monday, took three hours. That is my main complaint. Minor complaint is there is a particular woman, chunky white woman with long brown hair who I always saw in a white shirt. When I went up to window after two hours to politely ask what wait I had left because I was mainly concerned about the bleeding and risk of infection, the woman at the window was very nice, the other woman who was sitting behind her however, was just a straight B***h to put it nicely. Other than that everything was great. My Dr was Stephanie (I forget last name). She was very verbal in helping you understand your injury and the treatment she intended. Three visits and two weeks later I was good to go. I have a funky looking dip in my thumb now but thanks to Macon Occupational and my awesome Dr, It is healed nicely.
Pros
- Great Staff (mostly)
- Great care and treatment
Cons
- seem to have a lack of understanding priority: girl who cut her thumb off or girl who is taking an employment drug test?
This clinic doesn't work for the people being tested but rather the companies that hire out for this kind of service. This is incredibly evident in the severe lack of professionalism or care at every level. From the long wait times at various intervals to being talked at like an animal there's an eery similarity to being processed like a piece of meat. It's evident this clinic makes its money from moving as many warm bodies through as possible. As it's the only option, prepare yourself for zero eye contact or small talk. Finally, they bungled my paperwork and my employer still doesn't have the results after a week of waiting.
At first I was nervous after reading the reviews but they are nice and quick. Brooke, and the other girl who always answers the phone is extremely helpful, great customer service!
The staff is AWFUL!!! They need somebody to come in and actually clean house then hire new staff. "Enough said".
Everybody in this place of business needs to be fired and their jobs need to be given to people who actually want to work!!!! They have the nastiest attitudes!!! It takes all day just for a simple drug test and then after the 3 hours you wait they act as if your a criminal or have something to hide!!!!! Please evaluate your employees MACON OCCUPATIONAL because as of now YOUR GUYS SUCK!!!
Although the wait was long, the services were great. Don't forget, this is Georgia's only nationally certified center of its kind. The medical director, Dr. Cathy Harper- Hogan is amazing. She is very thorough and extremely competent. She is friendly, and can help explain anything related to getting you where you need to be in terms of being ready to work.
