Always great food, but had to look for wait staff for drink refills
Very fast service and the choices were wonderful. Lots of sides too! The coal grill is amazing!
OMG. It is as authentic as you'll gonna get around this Midwest area. Don't be fooled by the looks of the building.
Whenever I travel to Indianapolis to visit my parents. Going to Ma Ma's is a must! It is hard to find good Korean food and we go at least one time when I visit. The best part is always the banchan (side dishes). They offered the traditional grilling tables, but we were lazy and decided not to grill this time. They can easily handle large parties and you can order all of their food to go.
Mama's House is a top 10 place to eat in the Indy Metro. The staff is friendly. The portions are more than adequate. The dinner sides are fantastic. And, the food is always great. Might be my favorite restaurant in the city.
If you want giant portions, this is the place to go. The food is superb and the atmosphere is relaxing. It's pricey, but worth every cent you pay.
Orderedquickly, food was prepared, and came out quickly, and it was simply divine. I prove Korean cuisine and this has to top my list of authentic Korean restaurants.
The food is wonderful and has been for years. The decor is dated, but it is certainly the most authentic Korean food in Indy. They have "regular" table as well as barbecue tables. For the novice, I recommend the Dolsot Bebem Bop which is served is a cast iron hot bowl where the rice touching the bowl will form a delicious crisp layer. It has rice, beef, vegetables, egg and hot sauce which you mix together with a spoon. It is delicious. If not in the mood, grill bulgogi on the grill. It is tender and marinated beef which is delicious!
They have their own free parking lot in front which is super convenient. I had the curry, you can get extra vegetables for a couple bucks. The food came out incredibly fast and was delicious!
One of the best Korean restaurants in Indy. The food was really good and making it myself on the in-table grill was a ton of fun. Service was slightly less than adequate, where the check took too long to arrive because the wait staff was eating their dinner at the table next to us. If you have an adventurous palate then it's hard to leave this place hungry.
Huge portions! You can choose to dine at table or bbq your own meats and veggies. Food was great, service good but staff not helpful with menu
GREAT FOOD, large portions but yes to most Americans the service can be not favorable. I've tried other places like Bando but lacks flavor. Their more of a let's drink and eat. You won't taste the lack of great flavors due to the alcohol. If your wanting to experience the great flavors of Korean cuisine then Momma's it is. Get there in decent time like you they don't want to stay longer then they have to it's still work to them. Get to know the waiter or waitress it helps. When you need something wave your arm and say igima she will come to assist. Keep an open mind when you go to an foreign restaurant. I try to do research when I go to Indian, Japanese, Mexican and other family dinning places. So I don't accidentally take things wrong way or insult others due to maybe my rudeness. Food for thought! Great place I have introduced Momma's to a lot of close friends and coworkers.
This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Indianapolis. The food is always fresh, authentic and so flavorful. I want to give this place 5 stars, But the service is just never quite what it should be. I've found that if you ask for everything you want/need at the very beginning the experience is better.
This is the best Korean in town. The bbq table is wonderful. Slightly pricey at dinner. Very affordable at lunchtime.
The best, most authentic Korean food in the state. Moderate prices but huge portions. Service is not standard practice but it's not personal. This is a family place and has been for decades and culturally, some of the rules and expectations are different. They won't bother you while you eat unless you get their attention. They're trying to respect your desire to enjoy your meal in private, they're not being mean or lazy. If you want a legit Korean experience this is the place.
