Absolutely delicious food! We did the combo plates where you get 3 meats and two sides and wasn't disappointed at all. My favourites though had to be the pulled pork, beef tips, mac n cheese, and red potato skins! YUM! New favourite place when in the states.

Phenomenal beer menu, wine is nearly just as extensive. There is a certain appeal to dedicated BBQ restaurants that is perfectly nailed by Lockhart's and it is apparent as soon as you walk through the doors. Downtown Royal Oak charm is just as vibrant inside as it is in the middle of the city.

Four of my group ordered catfish. All agreed not all of the 3 pieces cooked thoroughly. One sent hers back and got the pulled pork which she really enjoyed. Two of my 3 pieces were cooked thoroughly, one wasn't. The two I ate were very good. Smashed potatoes also very good. Cornbread was probably cooked a little too long. Carrot cake was pretty good, very moist.

First things first I've been to the one in Texas and if you compare the two the one in Royal Oak needs some work. The service was exexcellent and the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere but food wasn't cooked properly. We ordered Chicken, Ribs, Brisket Macaroni & Cheese & Cold Slaw. For the price I paid, I at least thought the food would be hot. The Brisket was ok but barely any seasoning on it and no smoke flavor, same with the Chicken, it was bland and no smoke flavor .The skin was kinda soft and if you have a Smoker you know the skin gets a little crispy if cooked properly and my opinion is it was a little under cooked. Its not all bad, the Macaroni & Cheese was great and the French Fries were piping hot .

THE TWO STARS ARE FOR THE SERVICE. THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND ATTENTIVE.

We had a great meal and excellent service. Some items were too spicy for me but my husband loved it. Best corn bread. Portions are big, so you'll have dinner the next day. Perfect for someone who like a variety plate. I had the brisket and ribs combo. You get to pick your own sides. Very family friendly too.

Our server Quinn was great and very knowledgeable. She recommended great options and kept checking on us regularly. We got the 3 meat combo, 1/2 chicken, brisket and turkey with their 4 cheese mac and corn. Everything was so tasty, not one bad thing on our plates. The 3 berry cobbler was amazing as well. Great experience.

This place was amazing. The service has drastically IMPROVED had great service and it was quick. From the time we ordered to the time we got our food was less than 15 minutes. The food was was to die for, everyone in my party was speechless, the meat was tender and the sauces were a nice compliment, in moderation of course. Highly recommended if in the mood for good Bbq.

Really good food. Cake was cold like it was refrigerated and not freshly made in house. Good service and good food though, so you can't go wrong eating here.

Honest review = great tasting, tender bbq, pathetically small portions! $6.99 for 3 - half inch slices of brisket? Somehow i doubt that's a quarter lb and doubt they're using a scale! $18.99 for small half rack of ribs, little side sauce cup size of beans slice of regular store white bread and slaw?? Yea they're paying their employees too much or something wheres their profits being spent for Such a small corner L shaped dining area restaurant? .. Uppity people blow their money here

The food was ok at best. Looked very appealing but the flavor was definitely lacking and the drink selection is limited. The service was great and friendly. I'll give it another try maybe the cook was having an off day

My go-to BBQ joint. The smell inside instantly lets you know the food is going to be excellent. The brisket burger with candied bacon is phenomenal and this place actually gets sweet potato fries right (most places don't). Friendly staff, too.

Awesome place to go on Sunday for some great BBQ. Being from Texas we have been looking for a great BBQ place. This is the best we have found to date. We had a half rack of ribs, very juicy and flavorful. Did not have to use much sauce at all. And brisket, very good as well, juicy great flavor.Man we will be back very soon. Next time we will try some of the drinks they offer.
