Food and drinks are good, but the service is horrible. I've been here twice and I haven't gotten a drink in the first 30 minutes of sitting down. Also took 20 minutes to get the check when the waitress was just standing at the end of the bar doing nothing. And on top of that, they charged $0.75 for a side of ranch, that's just petty

The food and drinks are very good. Everything was very satisfying. Our waitress was very nice and wasn’t bothersome as some can be. The atmosphere is modern, warm, clean and comfortable.

A group of us went there last night for some drinks. And, well, I've got to say that there are some things that just make places stand out from one another. When the place serves craft beer, I really enjoy the fact that the server knows what they are talking about.

There was a tap-takeover with Rochester Mills that just started, and they were doing some fun flavors with their infamous Milkshake Stout. One of the people in our group is having to avoid milk for health reasons, and we were curious if there was milk actually in the milkshake stout (I know, sounds stupid)

The server said, "Let me go check." and away she went.

She seemed to be gone for a little, and we chuckled to ourselves saying 'watch, I bet she's calling Rochester Mills to see if there is milk in there.'

The server comes back and says "I called Rochester Mills, and there is a very small amount of milk in there, so if you have an allergy to it, I would probably stay away from it."

What kind of a server calls another establishment just to verify an ingredient?

An awesome server. A DAMN awesome server. I would love to say a giant 'Thank You' to you.. but I threw out the dang receipt. *doh!* You went above and beyond what I think is just a nice gesture.

As far as the rest of The Emory, I really enjoyed the casual atmosphere, nothing too gawdy, nothing too uptight. It's chill its relaxed its got a great atmosphere to it. I was rather impressed with it, and I cannot wait to go back to try out the food aspect.

Fancy! Only went for drinks so cannot comment on food. Service was kind of slow. Fun, yet somewhat overwhelming ambiance.

Just left. Went there because the reviews looked good. Walked in, 4 servers passed us and we were never acknowledged at the door. Then we sat at the bar, a bartender was doing dishes for about 5 minutes and never said anything, the girl bartender passed us 6 times and never acknowlged us, the manager came out of the kitchen and never acknowledged us. So we got up and left, passed the manager once again on our way out and not one person said one thing to us. We were there for about 10 minutes. Great customer service :/ Bummer too because we have been wanting to try this place for awhile.

Used to love this place when my girlfriend and I lived in Ferndale. Stopped by to eat after a funeral and sat ourselves. It took over 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge us in the booth. When she finally came over she said they were "transitioning" from breakfast/brunch menu to afternoon/dinner menu and we wouldn't be able to order food for 30-40 minutes. Are you kidding me? I've never heard of such a thing in all my life. Totally ridiculous. If you have a 30-40 minute wait between menus you should just close for an hour to prepare or better yet, operate like a normal restaurant and have a seamless transition! We went to the flytrap instead.

Sorry but not worth it at all. I went for brunch. Very short menu, food basic, no pancakes or waffles, none of the 7 people I came with had hot food, my moms egg toast and sausage took the longest to come out after all others food, then her eggs were sent back from being too cold. Do not try the roasted potatoes, they were bland. Nothing was special. Maybe their normal menu has some great, HOT, large number of options, with FLAVOR.

Good: sweet potato fries and service
Bad: emory burger, ginger salad, bacon

The place kind of smelled like dirty water when we walked in, never a good sign. Ordered the Emory burger with crispy bacon and sweet potato fries for me. Ginger salad for the wife. The burger was juicy and cooked well but lacked any flavor. The fries were good with the spicy ketchup, but they were probably frozen. The bacon was God awful. Maybe microwaved. Chewy and flavorless. The dressing on the salad was very bland. I expected a ginger dressing like Benihana or something and got nothing close.

Maybe come for a drink and something deep fried. Don't come looking for a great meal. I give a 3 star because the service was good and I would feel bad giving less.

Great ambiance. Service was quick and friendly. Drink selection was very good. Craft beer selection was average with other establishments in the area. The interior is nicely decorated. Large front windows give good views of Woodward and add to the feel of the place. Prices were fair. I would recommend.

Went here for dinner. Got For the sliders and sweet potato fries. Sliders were cold and extremely bland. They tasted like frozen burgers to be honest. The service was very slow as well. Sweet potato fries were good. But I won't be coming back and would never recommend to anyone.
