The resort is beautiful the scenery from the hotel is Grand. It has a beautiful golf course spa and the restaurants are awesome. The hotel has a shuttle bus that will take you to the shops at La Cantera So you can shop walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery at this Location. You also have a selection of great restaurants to enjoy good breakfast lunch or dinner. For the kid's you also have the benefit of 6 flags so they too can enjoy this great outing.
11/19/2017- La Cantera is a beautiful looking hotel but the staff and availability is terrible. The room that my family (there are 4 of us) booked somehow got flooded, therefore we were upgraded to another room on the 7th floor. The manager informed us that the room only slept 2 people and that he would send a queen sized bed to the room. They sent a bed, and it’s definitely not a queen (a 120 pound person takes up the width and length of the bed). The worst part of this whole experience is that we needed laundry service after an incident with hot chocolate for a wedding that we have on site in a couple of hours. The manager assured us that laundry service would be no problem. Mark from the housekeeping department had to come tell us that his manager was misinformed about the days that laundry services are available. Mark was apologetic and gave us a location of a laundromat close by that we could use. He was very sorry about our inconvenience. Mark was amazing and I hope he is promoted soon. He helped us more than anyone else on the premises.
Very nice place, loved the ambiance and the views. Service from the staff was good to very good, with a glitch or two along the way, but it's hard to be perfect. The resort accommodated a very large wedding at the last minute due to an emergency at the previously booked venue. The pool area was wonderful for the kids and there were numerous areas for our large group to hang out and be together. My only complaint would be fees and tacked on items that aren't overtly advertised.
La Cantera Resort is one of the most enjoyable places you will ever visit. The staff went out of their way to take care of us, and there are so many fun things to do there! We stayed in the Villas, which is a more secluded area of the resort and took advantage of heated pools, the n. gas fire pit, and hot tubs! The only issue we had was that we seemed to be the only people who knew what package we booked and it took awhile to resolve this, however the staff was helpful with this as well.
Rooms here are $$$ and you could probably get a couple of rooms at a Fairfield or Hilton for what one room costs here a night. I guess if you're coming for the spa and golf, sure, it's convenient. But these are standard rooms like you would find at any other chain hotel. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Nice views of the Texas hill country from the balconies in the rooms.
Mixed feelings on the customer service here. There was almost no parking because the golf carts all park in regular spots. Then the front desk staff didn't tell me that they were pretty of wrist bands which you need to use a locker. They told me to sit and wait and someone would show me around. I waited fifteen minutes, saw several staff walk in and out and finally a friend who was already inside came out and showed me around herself. Once inside however, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the facilities are beautiful, if on the small side. The pool is shared with the rest of the resort, but does have an amazing view. Overall, I'll go back, but probably on a weekday.
My wife and I are on our honeymoon here. The grounds are breathtaking. Our room is well kept, up to date and quite amazing. The staff put a great deal of effort into making sure you are 100% taken care of. On check in I had 5 different staff members greet me with my last name before I introduced myself because the gate attendant had radioed ahead. It is extremely peaceful and serene here. We will most definitely be coming back.
The resort is quiet and nice. It's up on a hill so you can see the terrain miles away. The facilities are very nicely decorated and rooms were spacious. Outdoor games and golf carts available. Right next to six flags Fiesta so we got to see fireworks each night around 10pm. Relaxing
Have only visited once but our experience was great. Hotel is very nice and close to where we needed to go. Staff is great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend and visit again. The LA Cantera shops are an excellent way to spend the day and there's plenty of dining options at the hotel as well. Nice place to stay while visiting San Antonio although if you are saying here you may not want to go anywhere else
Very nice! Pleasant and helpful staff. The spa is fantastic. In room dining was delicious. Overall a great place
It's spacious and tastefully decorated for occasions. Huge parking. Good catering. Decor is more like " southern style" with huge hanging bells and large barnyard lamp chandelier. Overall nice place. Patio view is gorgeous. On a good day can look like Hill country:)
La Cantera is a very relaxing b place to stay from the moment I checked in. The front freak staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome. The rooms were well appointed. My room overlooked the front entrance and there was a small amount of noise from the cars. The bed was comfortable with great pillows.
I booked my stay here before reading the reviews. After I read the reviews I almost cancelled because there were a lot of negative ones. I'm glad I didn't! Their staff is very friendly, from their valet, waitresses, to their housekeepers, and general managers. We met Vanessa, one of their managers and she was very accommodating and sweet. She interacted with my kids as much as she did with my husband and I. The views are amazing! The pools are perfect!!! They have a kiddy pool, family pool, and an adult only pool which is perfect!!! I will definitely be coming back. We're already planning our next visit!!!
The word of order is rest! An unique and quiet place, perfect for the ones who already know the city of San Antonio, and want a resort to relax and enjoy your family or loved one companies. They have really comfortable rooms, solicitous service and different kinds (and great) of restaurants to eat. Special note for the breakfast buffetyou'll need at least one week to try everything; a must go!
Oh, and the complex has the incredible La Cantera Shopsbe prepared to have an amazing shopping experience!
