I haven't used many of the bike shops around Rockford since moving back to the area. Most components on top end mountain bikes take a good deal of knowledge when working on them, and there are so many components today, its hard to find a tech that knows the maintenance procedures for all makes and models. I was pretty excited when I brought my Fuji to Kegels and the mechanic actually knew what he was doing with my brakes. These guys really seem to know the mountain bike industry. They even hooked me up with a bolt for one of my clip ins free of charge when I was in a bind about to take off on a ride. With that you guys definitely made a repeat customer in me. Thanks again and we will see you next time!

This is the place to buy a bike. I went in last year with little knowledge of biking and they were able to guide me to a bike that has worked great for me. They have also been a go to spot for accessories that I have needed like lights and bags.

Went in for a bike repair, needed a new derailer put on. The guy that took a look at my bike said he had some other people bikes that needed to be fixed and that he would try and have my bike fixed by the end of the day tomorrow it he could. I get home not even an hour later and receive a text saying my bike was ready to be picked up! They are good to their customers and when they tell you they will try to get the work done as soon as they can, THEY MEAN IT! I would recommend this place to anyone needing work done on their bike or who is looking to buy a bike!

I was looking for a part and the reason I walked out is because one of the employees said " I don't know, I just work here". Otherwise this place has it all. Great shop!

Great shop stopped on here while on my 10 hr break decided to stop in while on my mountain bike picked up a great helmet and mirror staff was super nice I recommend this for the specialized bike riders or just your everyday joe. Nice to see small businesses thriving.

I ordered an e-bike online call the Rad Power Wagon.
Upon receiving the bike and reading the first paragraph of instructions it's suggested to have the bike assembled by a professional bicycle shop.
I searched online through Google Maps the closest bicycle shop.
Seeing Kegels has a good customer rating, I called them to see if they would assemble my bike.
When I called, they gave me what I thought was a fair price and pick up/ delivery service.
The assembly did take a few days longer than expected, but they did a great job and I am thrilled with my Rad Wagon!

My first visit and last visit ever to Kegel's went like this.
I asked if they carried Coaster Brake Axle parts. The Mechanic went in the back room and returned a few minutes later; No we don't carry these parts. While he was checking another guy insulted my leather backpack I brought the parts in. Telling me it looked like a womans purse! O.K. what type of Bike Store does not carry ball bearings? And why insult a new customer?

Great Bike Shop. It is my go to local bike shop. I'm not sure how these guys got a negative review to be honest. They not only carry brand name bikes and components, but they carry some of the best. Service, selection, and quality information from the staff. Can't speak highly enough of Robb and his staff.
