Motorcyclists beware. We stayed at Misty View and booked at the last minute. My husband and I rode our motorcycles and are forced to go where the weather is best suited, so planning ahead/research is not always an option. However, we were able to book on short notice and were reassured by Angie that the drive to the cabin was motorcycle accessible.

I would consider us moderate to experienced riders; that climb to the cabin was by FAR the most terrifying experience we've ever had on bikes. I would never recommend this site for motorcyclists! Yes, the drive was well paved and groomed. But, there were 300 degree turns while on a sloped grade and while also climbing so much so, that we could not see ahead of us. All it would take was one patch of gravel or leaves to take us down. A bike with stretch bags could never make it.

Honestly, the Tail of the Dragon was a breeze in comparison! With some practice over the time we were there, it became a little less intense. Although, we were always planning for weather, sunlight, and weight distribution in the bags. The cabin itself was enjoyable and comfortable.

Another suggestion is to try and ask when the online photos were taken. Ours were clearly 10 or so years old as the saplings allowing mountain views were now full grown trees.

We rented a cabin from Jackson mountain homes. Let me start off by saying this is by far the worst cabin we have ever rented!!! First and foremost the road is absolutely horrible, the parking is awful (could barley park a Jeep Wrangler), the flood lights out front do not work, the hot tub inside is disgusting, their is MOLD*** on the bathroom ceiling, their is dust and Cobb webs Everywhere, their were countless number of stink bugs lizards and stinging centipedes inside the cabin during the whole stay! The hot tub outside had a lot of hair in it! The rocking chair outside is being held together by a hose clamp!!! Hubby almost fell threw it! The view is nothing but trees! I think that covers everything!

    JUST GOT BACK. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE,
Jackson Mountain Homes is not what it used to be. They are now owned by Vacation Rental Pros and have gone down hill. Customer service sucks, these pictures were taken after the cleaning person came to the cabin because of our complaints. We show up a few hours later and nothing had been cleaned. They just added more towels and pillows. Extremely disappointed will not stay with them anymore.

My review from 5 years ago was much different. You might notice all the old reviews were good and the recent ones are all bad. What a shame!

    --Great decor and atmosphere.
--Beautiful view and cabin was extremely homey and comfortable.
--Washer/dryer, fridge, and stove functioned perfectly.
    --Beds were fairly comfortable.
--Charcoal grill was newer and worked well.
--Lots of cupboard and countertop space.
--Plenty of necessary kitchen dishes, bowls, pots, pans, implements, and silverware.
    --Furniture was adequate.

The problems were with the maintenance of the cabin, and management was not eager to fix anything.
--We had a nonworking microwave that took 2 phone calls and 3 days to get replaced.
--The ceiling fan in the living room did not work, and was never repaired after 2 calls.
--The laminate flooring was filthy. Black soles on our bare feet and socks after walking on it.
--Jets didn't work properly on the hot tub. Called, but they were never fixed.
--The windows on the deck doors and near the upper ceiling were filthy, and appeared to have not been washed in months. One of them had a large crack in it.
--The sheets on the master bed were the wrong size and much too short.
--The window in the shower/bath in the master bedroom had no curtain and had black mold around the frame and sill.
--The kitchen faucet was very loose and felt like it was going to fall off every time we turned it on of shut it off.
--The soap dispenser in the dishwasher was broken and impossible to fill with detergent.
--The charcoal grill ash bucket was full and never emptied. We had to leave our ashes in the grill.
--The jets in the garden tub in the master bedroom did not work.
--Only 1 TV remote that worked for all 3 TVs.
    --No hot pads.
--Kitchen table top was very "sticky".

Horrible experience. arrived at cabin, code didn't work, only to find out that the cabin was not cleaned from previous guest. Made several phone calls, we ended up having to leave cabin after a 10 1/2 hr drive so that it could be cleaned. Finally get settled, tv in bedroom didn't work, lights in kitchen were out and the upstairs was in disarray. Called and we asked to speak to management, told he was on vacation. Never did hear from him after several calls was placed and their response was they would refund us $50.00. Would not recommend this company, there are tons of other places to book cabins with.

We really enjoyed our stay with Jackson Mountain Homes. Our cabin was comfortable and reasonably priced and the company was very helpful. There was a little bit of wear and tear on the property that will hopefully be taken care of in the off season. There were plenty of towels, washcloths, soap, and shampoo for 5 people

We have stayed with 2 other cabin companies in Gatlinburg before, but this trip we decided to use a Jackson mountain home bc the cabin looked amazing (Appalachian lodge) and they have an almost 5 star rating. We were highly disappointed. We checked in and the fridge was warm. We called and the office was closed so we left a message. They sent someone the next day and they said it was bc we put warm drinks in and it had to catch up. It took a full 48 hours to catch up. Meanwhile, we lost breast milk and regular milk for our baby and toddler. The cabin was dirty. Pillows didn't have pillow cases. But they sent someone up w some and a few extra pillows since we could see a big yellow stain on one. We don't usually complain about things but for the $ they charge, you'd think the cabin would be maintained and clean. On our 6th day, the water stopped coming out hot. I called and left a message. Nothing. We called back the next morning bc still no hot water. They said they never got the message. Sent a guy that said "we just had to wait for it to recover" while it had already had all night to recover and it hadn't happened to us all week. It worked fine like an hour after he left. The floors and rug were dirty. One of the tubs didn't drainyou showered in 3 inches of water. All in all, we were disappointed.

    Worst service and customer experience.
Got there for long weekend, last day of our stay we din't have power and water in our cabin. Inspite of calling more than 10 times no one in the service department know how to resolve the issue. They just left it on us that we cannot do anything about it.
The whole trip was like some one actually jinxed on us.

People working here are very reckless in answering the calls of their customers, and instead charged us completely. Very unprofessional and highly disappointed.

I will preface this by saying that are stay in the cabin was enjoyable, but the check in process was a bit of a nightmare. My husband and I arrived early into town and I called to see if we could check in early. I was curtly told no, as there were bad wind storms in town a few nights prior and they needed to make sure our cabin had power. No big deal, as there are plenty of things to do around town. While we were out and about, I got a notification from their app at 12 saying that someone would call me once they had verified we had power. Also no big deal, and I appreciated the fact that they would verify before we got to the cabin. Check in time is at 3, and around 3:30 I called to see if there was an update. I was connected to customer service, who had absolutely no idea what was going on and said they would transfer me to the Gatlinburg office. They connected me and it went straight to voicemail. I left a message and waited for a call back. By 4 we still hadn't heard anything and decided, because we had been on the road for around 12 hours and we needed to get food in the fridge, that we would just head up to the cabin. Thankfully the cabin had power and we got the car unpacked. I decided to call and let them know we had power, and they didn't need to come up and verify, and the office was closed! So if we had waited for a call, it would have never came and we would have probably had to get a hotel for the night. Not the greatest customer service.

We have rented a cabin with Jackson Mountain Homeasover the past 5 years. We typically have a wonderful experience, however, last year our fireplace was not working in the cabin. We called and were told that a service person would be out shortly. No one came, the next day we called again and were told to take our dog with us so that the repair could be fixed. We took the dog for the dayno one came. On our last day, they called to come bytoo late. This year, April, we stayed in another Jackson Mountain Home. When we walked into the cabin all of the linens were in the laundry bag on the dining table. The master bathroom had opened toothbrush packages and the sink was nasty. All of the dishes were in the cabinet wet. I called the office the next day when the air was not working, the thermostat read 81 degrees at 11 a.m.
Hopefully, we just had two years of "bad" luck. However, not sure if I can trust another vacation with Jackson Mountain Homes.

We stayed in the "alone at last" cabin. March of 2016. We loved the location, the privacy and the homey feel of our cabin. Tastefully decorated and a very sweet touch to everything inside. We got married out at Serenity falls and spent our first days as a married couple there.
The staff was excellent and took care of us, even with a late checking due to getting stuck in traffic. We left Lake Charles, Louisiana at 4:30 am and got into our cabin around 8:30 pm. Got stuck in a lot of traffic once we got to Tennessee. But they were great and very understanding to a tired and nervous and stressed bride and groom to be.
We can say enough about home wonderful this cabin is. The special touches made it feel like home.
We will be back. Though our cabin is not available this time around for our anniversary. I would tell anyone to stay in these cabins they rent. Absolutely wonderful!
