Delicious food; great staff. It's Hatfield day so I got the Hatfield sandwich. Everything is great, though. The vegetable kabob is a meal in itself. One of several fantastic barbecue places in the metro area. The decor in this one on Holmes at 135th Street is western and homey. Love the whole experience.

Haven't been here in about a year. Prices kept rising while quality and portions decreased. However, due to the 60 year (original smokestack included) history we decided to try one last time. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Quality was upFood tasted fresh, had great flavor and came out hot. Server was polite and attentive, even went so far as to bring me a couple free rib bones. Quantities were enough that 2 out of three of us took food home. Prices were still a little proud, but I actually felt the food was worth it again. At this point we will definitely be going back.

The best BBQ location on the planet. Always a packed house. Great atmosphere. The best darn BBQ Beef, pork and chicken in the whole world! I have travelled my whole life working in aviation and have been to BBQ places all across the world and this place keeps me coming back because it is by far the very best!

amazing place burnt ends and sausage are the best around. Ribs are also very very good. add some onion rings and cheesy corn amazing. go here you'll come back :) also on a side note they will deliver via FedEx and dry ice. so when you're away from kc you can still have a taste of home.

My family and I have always loved eating at Jack Stack Barbecue restaurants. This month I had the opportunity to use their catering service for our networking group, Thursday Therapy and it was simply amazing. Since our event was being held at a bridal gown shop, we were looking for an all white menu to prevent any spilling or damage to the dresses. You wouldn't normally think of white when you think of BBQ but the chefs at Jack Stack truly stepped up to create a custom white menu for us. It featured some wonderful new items including smokey, fried cauliflower that was TO DIE FOR!!! Simply put, the food and presentation were impeccable. The staff was warm and happy to be there. GREAT experience! Can't thank you guys enough!

Called in to request a reservation for a party of 11, the great service began there, and continued until we left. In fact, the service from everyone was unbelievable! Then there was the food, the amazing food. This was our first time at this location, we will be back!

Hands down the best Ribs I have ever eaten! I was on a book tour and we stayed in Kansas City for three nights. Our family friends took us here, which was a great way to kick off our time in KC! Awesome food and KC is a great city!

Service and food was exquisite. There was a short wait for a table but it didn't distract from the experience at all. Our server was accommodating and professional the entire visit. The staff was courteous and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. We even grabbed some dessert to take home that, once reheated, just extended everything we experienced at the restaurant. Well done.

Their beef ribs are so fantastic, I just can't get them out of my mind. I'm trying to diet, so that's not exactly the best thing. I will make this a weekly stop though when I there's a bit left girth around the waist.
The half slab order was really enough for two meals, so it can easily be split, especially if you have sides, and who doesn't? I for one did not get sides this time. Truly magnificent.response / report this review -

Amazing! Great food. Great service! Our waitress was so good, never pushy, full of answers and suggestions to our questions. Made sure we had a great experience. If you're ever in Kansas, MO, this is the place to eat. Get your barbecue meats at perfect proportions. The burnt ends were so tender. The carrot cake was the best I've ever had. Soft, warm, flavorful, like it just came out of the oven and that includes the warm frosting. I don't know if I could ever it any other way!

Storme Blankenship. He went WAY above the call. I brought in 15 patrons at 11:45am calling ahead at 10:30. Unfortunately another group of 15 from my company also came in. Our table was erroneously given to the other party and we arrived shortly after. We didn't have unlimited time, but it didn't pay for us to be upset. They got us seated in ~ 10 minutes. Then, we were offered appetizers (3 different apps per each table), which were comped. We ordered our food and it arrived VERY quickly. Halfway through Storme told me the entire meal would be comped. That was totally unexpected and very much appreciated.
We've been to this location (Martin City) several times in the past and routinely take business visitors there. We will continue as they obviously appreciate return customersresponse / report this review -

This was the best BBQ in the city 15 years ago. I still love the nostalgia of the property. But the food is now terrible. I've been there twice in the last month. Once for a business lunch and once for a family dinner. The burnt ends and the brisket (which used to be awesome) were both awful. I've had better beef at Arbies. There are so many better BBQ places in KC. Sad to see such s wonderful place go downhill. I've even eaten at the Metcalf location about 3 months agothe food was better than the Holmes location, but still yucky. I won't be going back to any location.

I am in love with this place. I grew up in the area and have been eating here since it was Smoke Stack. It's absolutely amazing food and great customer service. There is always a wait to dine in, but I almost always carry-out. Their catering and carry-out is top notch!

Service A+ when my drink went empty another server, besides the assigned, filled it. Great teamwork!
Meal was delicious: brisket, pulled pork, fried mushrooms, creamy cole slaw, baked beans(with BBQ sauce and meat in it).
I wish they had this in Ohio!

Excellent food and very good service. The selection of meats, side dishes, and sauces was somewhat limited. In particular, if you don't like the sauce hot, you really have only one choice. Lunch portions were smaller than expected given the price, but you still get good value. Overall a very good choice.
