Indigenous is obviously based on quality ingredients. Everything is so well prepared and excellently sourced, so much attention to detail, chef is on point! Most places you can go ahead and skip dessert but you definitely need to save room or at least let fill in the cracks! Service we great and personable as well.
Haven't been to the restaurant yet but will definitely be going soon. I had the Wild Mushroom Bisque at the Bowls for Hope and I can honestly say it is the best soup I have ever tasted!!!! Real quality ingredients evident in every bite. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. I wish I could get that recipe Chef 😁
Favorite restaurant anywhere. Live in DC but visit Sarasota frequently. Every time I visit end up at Indigenous. The menu is always changing but always excellent. Under priced considering they only use high quality local ingredients. Would give it 6 stars if I could. Staff is very helpful.
Inventive chef with a flair for local ingredients. Upbeat small restaurant with more outside dining than inside. Great wait staff, good wine list and new menus make this a must try when near sarasota. Don't miss a chance to enjoy this great spot.
Best dinner I have had in Sarasota. The wild mushroom soup was to die for. My friend had the Caesar salad and it was delicious. The Parmesan beignets were just the right amount of sweet and salt. Then for an entree, my party of 8 raved about the Everglades bake. The lighting outside is romantic yet festive. One warning: doesn’t open til 5:30 Friday’s.
We’ve been to this restaurant several times on previous visits to Sarasota and came back with a friend and our son. After some unhelpful and rather abrupt questioning about my son’s age (who is 26) the unsmiling waitress finally accepted his photographic ID on his phone, so heck und have a glass of wine. The food was good but not outstanding. My watermelon/mozzarella starter was mainly arugula, had hardly any dressing and only a few tiny squares of mozzarella. Very uninspiring and boring. My son’s main was the vegetarian option which sounded delicious - but the waitress omitted to tell him that it was a cold salad, and not what he expected. To be fair the other dishes were very nice. Still - very disappointing as it is not a cheap restaurant, and the service was poor.
We sat in the wine cottage. Great little room. Service was good. The menu is limited which concerned me a bit but some places you just have to trust their reputation. This is definitely one of them. Everything I tasted was delicious!
This place was a nice little surprise. My wife and I enjoyed a great three course meal. The food was well conceived and then perfectly executed. We made sure to try as many parts of the meal on special as possible. We were not disappointed. I suggest this place to anyone looking for a meal that is not usual. I will return for dinner on my next vacation here next year.
Really unique dining experience at an out of the way location. Located in a couple of re-purposed houses this restaurant serves outstanding quality food in a fun funky environment. Staff was great. Call ahead for reservations.
Creative quisine in a quaint setting steps from downtown Sarasota. Make reservations. There is a bar at which you can sit to eat if you are on your own but only seats 6, this would be my one area for improvement
I have found my food heaven. The food was AMAZING! Make sure to get reservations as this place is one of the best food establishments to be found in Sarasota. I only wished I had saved enough room for desert.
All around great experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming to a rustic atmosphere. Although the menu isn't particularly large, everyone in my party was satisfied with what they ordered. And the grapefruit sorbet was top notch.
