Left at 12:15 on New Years due to the lack of fulfilled promises, poor customer service, over priced stay for a hotel completely under remodel in a full construction zone. Went to enjoy the fireworks with my family without having to brave the drunken crowd of people at the near by local venue, was told 3 times before booking the stay that the pool would be open for the fireworks and went to watch at 11:45 and were locked out of the area. Upon asking an attendant who happened to be in the area what was going on, she radioed someone on her head set, said “hold on” and opened the door to exit the area. She then proceeded to literally jog down the hall in the opposite direction without any answer as to why the pool area was locked at a time it was not supposed to be per the managers word when we booked and on 2 occasions prior to booking. The hotel is undergoing a remodel, and is in a construction zone and it’s like trying to work your way through a maze to get where you need to be. To park in the garage, you pay an additional $20 on top of your stay, also be prepared to be charged an additional $50 upon arrival for incidentals. No breakfast in the morning unless you wish to pay yet another $22 per person. Water in the room don’t drink it unless you want to pay another $4 per bottle. I promised my family a poolside view of the fireworks but had to watch the fireworks with our faces pressed up to dirty foggy glass in the gym because we didn’t have the time to get to a point where viewing would be available. My kids missed out on the New Years celebrations because this hotel didn’t fulfill it’s promises. Worst stay I have ever experienced.

Nice hotel, the place is clean. Its by the water but the water view is just average. You have to park across the street. The location is really good and you can walk to restaurants nearby. It was an overall good experience staying at this hotel but not a 5 star rating in my book.response / report this review -

Great downtown property. Amazing view. Rooms well kept, large bathroom. Restaurant server was very friendly and engaging. Everyone we encountered was professional and polite. We will definitely return!

Nice view of the river. Close to the Florida Theatre and several fun bars. Staff was extremely nice. Bottom floors are still being repaired from recent hurricane damage. Pool area was also very nice. Not a bad experience overall, but there are nicer hotels.

My stay at an orphanage in Ghana was more comfortable than here. Least comfortable bed, sheets, and pillow I've ever had in a hotel. The sheets might have been made out of sandpaper. This was my first stay in a Hyatt and I won't be back. The food is crazy expensive too$20 for a buffet breakfast, $4 for water. The hotel itself was really nice, but I can't get past the bed and food.

Great service and accommodations as always. Hard to believe a hurricane flooded the first floor less than two months ago. The newly remodeled rooms are very nice and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel in Jacksonville, had a wonderful time here. The staff was nice, respectful and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here this past weekend, and did NOT have a very good experience. First the water line had broken. Fair enough: They informed us before we checked in and assured us that it would be fixed by 8pm (checked in at 6). We went out to eat and came back to fixed water, and barely functioning air. We had about 20% capacity air conditioning all weekend, but were told that it would improve.
Luckily for us, we could cool down in our own ICE SHOWER, since there was zero hot water. We would let the shower run for several minutes at FULL HOT, and nothing. Cold water only.
That brings me to the biggest issue during our stay. At just past 2:30am, a full alarm started blaring. Strobe lights, emergency announcement and everything. Announcement stated there was an issue in the hotel and to get to the lobby but don't take the elevator. We were on the 7th floor. After heading down the stairs we come out outside, where a security guard tells us it was a false alarm and engineering stopped it. Same message from the front desk as we re-entered the hotel.
NOT A SINGLE APOLOGY.
Your alarm jolts us up at almost 3am. Has us head down 7 flights of stairs. And you can't be bothered to apologize? We skipped breakfast Sunday morning and checked out ASAP. No cold shower. No coffee. No more Hyatt hotels. Period.response / report this review -

What a great visit! Plenty to do in Jacksonville! Hotel is next door to The Landing which houses restaurants and entrainment. The hotel overlooks the St. John's River and our room had a balcony. The staff at the Hyatt was remarkable! The room was clean, spacious and inviting. The only negative that i have is that the room had a king bed, but only had tiny pillows. (I know! Life is horrible!) Overall a great stay.

What do you say when you show up and you are greeted with excellent customer service? I say, write a great review. We stayed on the tenth floor, center riverfront. Marty C in IRD, from room service, went far beyond our expectations to accommodate our stay. The security guard, Roy, took extra time to help us with the layout of the hotel, provided information about the surrounding area, and even recommended we spend a bit of time at the Landing. Both men are an asset to your hotel.
The fireworks from the barge were a splendid treat!

The hotel had amazing staff and management. The parking situation was crazy due too construction. I had a riverfront room and was surprised to see a huge crane in the river in front of my room. I was super excited about going to the pool and hot tub on the roof. It was closed for safety reasons for high wind. I went and talked with management and she was more than helpful. I will be returning for another stay.
My credit card was charged after they told me I could leave and it would be like I never checked in. I still have not received my money back on my card. I will never stay at another Hyatt property.response / report this review -

Decent 4 star hotel. Suitably rated. Better than the other 4 star hotel that comes up consistently in comparison sites for the immediate area. Had breakfast at the restaurant. It was good. Service has been friendly and hospitable. Minor issues like some hairs left by cleaning staff and worn towels reduced it the one star from five.

The nicest hotel staff I've dealt with in a while. Beautiful building, great views. The pool and the gym are on the 19th floor, so they also have a great view of the water. Parking is $20 a night per vehicle, in the adjoining building, which is ridiculous. Not that that's a huge price, its just an inconvenience to be informed of it only when checking in. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, except of course for the valets, who always have terrible attitudes, not to mention; almost collided with me twice before I even arrived, and as always, too much concerned with me and what I'm doing. I'm parking to check in, no you can't have my keys.

Stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. Every staff person I encountered was incredibly kind and helpful. Don't get me started on the excessive joy that was the concierge level breakfast staffershe was amazing! The food in the restaurants, and through their banquet department was superb. They have two bars on the lobby level and an ample gift/sundry store too. The room was very comfortable and the climate control worked well for cooling off at night.
