Being a person who doesn't like fish, it's probably not fair for me to review this place, so take it for what it's worth. While everyone else had Seafood and it looked very good and from what they said it was very good, I had chicken tenders and fries. I have asked if the chicken with fresh or frozen and they said fresh and that is why I made the decision to have this instead of the burger. I was disappointed when it came out as there were only 5 very small pieces of chicken and it was overcooked and tough. The worst thing for me, again not being a fish person, was it it smelled and tasted like fish. Obviously they use the same oil for everything. That being said, if you come here for fish you would probably be pleased. There weren't many selections for someone who doesn't like fish.
On the positive side, everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal very much. The service was very good and the waitress was attentive.response / report this review -

The good was great. The service was first rate very friendly and they were very attentive to the little ones we had in our party. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they had no problem with me bringing in our own cake and even helped us sing Happy Birthday to my husband. We will be going back again.

Wonderful eclectic Florida restaurant. Lots of character divided into many different rooms to dine in. Open floor plan. Great southern food cooking. Try the All-you-can-eat catfish, a classic!

Food is hit and miss and so is their service. RV park is 3 stars at best. Too many issues and too close to each other.

We had the best waiter tonight, Pat. He was there when we needed him and left us alone the rest of the time. The shrimp basket was fantastic and the red beans and rice had large chunks of sausage. It was delicious. Daughter had the fish tacos and loved them. We will go back. There are a number of items on the menu that I want to try. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food also

Whitey's has great food, eclectic but superb atmosphere on the water and an awesome Tiki Bar - what more do you want?! Best restaurant in Clay County, Florida. A real institution around these parts.

The food was eh. We ate inside because we were with my in laws, it might have been better with alcohol and the breeze coming off the water. The service was good. It was their saving grace, really. The decor was interesting and my boys enjoyed it. Most likely, it will be quite awhile before we return.

Great food and experience. Totally enjoyed a nice lunch in an old style environment on the water. The fried clams were tasty and meaty. Hard to find these days. The fried shrimp was perfectly cooked and not over cooked like is often found. We'll definitely be back. The red beans with sausage and rice were really good too!

Still love this place! Great vibe and atmosphere! Great place to have a catfish poboy and a beer. Until last Sunday, I hadn't been there in 35 years when I would spend days fishing off the dock. Nice to see that they still allow kids to that even after all the massive expansion they have done. Still has kept it's charm.

Location is fabulous. Nice view, and loads of room for lots of people. I had the fish and chips. Prices were average, portions were not impressive, but quality was good. If you want a nice view on the water, and some drinks at the outdoor bar I definitely can recommend. Watching the boats go by is very relaxing. I guess I wasn't wowed over by the food. It was average. Not great, not bad.

Just had lunch for the second time this week. Miss Shirley was my server and she was Awesome! M ore then just lunch this place is fun. Plan to do some photo taking, lots of great photo ops.

Linda our server was on top of drinks and order taken quickly. Food was hot and flavorful. Seafood was cooked perfectly. Although not a fan of this establishment this visit with an out of state guest was nice.

Food is descent Service is slow but that's not the bad part if you are going to have slow service at least have a decent attitude toward you customers. The waitress was rolling her eyes every 4 minutes and was very nasty and just seemed disinterested in being the to begin with. I would not recommend going here unless you have the patience to deal with these type of servers!!! had cups open for refills entire time. When ask for drinks the second time she said YEAH I heard you the first time😂👍🏻

For years I've heard how good Whitey's is and how great the food is. Today was the first time I came I brought my wife here for the Mother's Day buffet. Although the food from the menu may be great the buffet use the lowest Quality Foods The Taste was okay however the presentation left a lot to be desired. For many people like myself this was the first time we have experienced Whitey's and unfortunately if this is their way to get me to come back they failed miserably.
