Reserved a room with two beds. The gave me a room with one bed and gave us a separate free room but it sucked staying separate. The rooms are VERY small and smell old and musty. The bathroom was clean but old with no counter to set makeup or a curling iron. I would never stay there again. It may be historic, but it needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
The old sweaty waitress in the restaurant was really rude. Food was ok.
The hotel is pretty outdated but has really pretty views. It is pretty hot as there is no air conditioning and only ceiling fans. I was there for a wedding I was in, the coordinator was fantastic however it was an invreadbly stressful day due to a fiasco with the rooms. My bride was supposed to have the bridal sweet the night before and night of her wedding. Something happened and the bridal suite was booked up so she spent the night before in a regular room (no big deal) and the front seat was supposed to call her and notify when the suite was ready around 10 they said. They did not call until after 12, again not a huge deal but rough as we were supposed to be getting ready for a wedding. The real problem was, a half hour after we got into that room we were called by the front desk and informed they gave us the wrong room and that we needed to get out.so again in the middle of getting ready for a wedding we had to pack up and move. They assured us that the next room was bigger and better than the one we were inwhich was a lie. The 3 room we were in was much smaller and while it had an ocean view it really did not accommodate the needs that they said it would. We wound up starting the ceremony late because the bridal party could not get ready very fast due to all the moving around that occurred and we got pushed by the staff to basically hurry up which was frustrating since it was their fault we we all late to begin with. But again, beautiful site, nice beach, old rooms.
An old fashion trip into the 60s. They are going to remodel and that atmosphere of the past peaceful time will disappear. But other things will improve. So. Glad I got to stay there now. Everyone was very nice and polite. The food great.
We were married at Hotel Laguna 15 years ago and decided to stay overnight to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We had a pleasant stay there. Through no fault of their own, the weather wasn't cooperating. The room was hot and uncomfortable, even with two fans at full blast. Perhaps they should consider adding AC, but due to the logistics and cost, I would understand why that wouldn't be possible. We probably won't be staying there in the future anymore, because the amount of money I spent for a room with a single king bed could have paid for a more modern hotel just a few more blocks down Hwy 1.
The location of the hotel can't be beat, but it could definitely use some updating. Our room had no air conditioning and was like a sweat box when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant at the hotel had a great pasta dish that I tried. It was very convenient being located right next to main beach and on the main drag, but because of the lack of A.C., especially in the end of July, I will look for a different place to stay next time.
The staff was professional and very helpful. They were able to accommodate to our needs. They helped coordinate the wedding event, which was on the beach, and it was fabulous. I would recommend to anyone thinking about wedding planning, or even spending time on the beach. They have a private space on the beach.
Incredible ocean and beach views. Friendly staff. Was here for a wedding reception. They were able to accommodate kids in an adjacent room, with the adults gathered together in the big room
This is for the restaurant only. Was seated with my family on the patio outside. Was not busy at all and pretty wide open at 5pm. After about 5 minutes of sitting there, I asked a waiter if we could move to one of the 2 empty tables right next to ours that were serviced by the same waitress. We just wanted a better ocean view and to be out of the sun more. Waiter said no, and I asked to just ask his manager or have him come and speak with me. He came back and said the manager said no and that he would not speak with me. That was enough for me to leave and take my business elsewhere. At least come talk to a customer who asks, even if you say no, ignoring and blowing people off is not good business practice. Last time I ever go there, and I hope that 2 people who took the table next to us made you more money than the 2 drinks only they ordered. My appetizer and 3 drinks was 50 bucks alome before the meals I would have ordered, and I still tipped. Horrible customer service! Managerpfft, learn some management skills.
Why not have dinner seaside. It was a beautiful view with good service and food was great. Recommend the fish.
At a wedding, the place is nice and staff is friendly , wedding coordinator is not to friendly or helpful. As a coordinator you would think you would be nice and helpful. She obviously did not get this memo. For all the money paid you think we would have got better service, also the chairs bleed, so on everyone butts was white from the chairs. Overall it was a nice Beach wedding just think the money could have been spent better somewhere else
When we have guests visiting from out of state, we always head here for the BeachSide Bistro. There are great views and its the perfect place for a glass of wine and a lunch. On multiple occasions we have seen dolphins playing in the surf.
