We have stayed and had guests stay here for convenience with the sure knowledge that any time you stay here the stay will be comfortable. Enjoyed the pool and even had the opportunity to use the meeting rooms once. Everything is up and exceeding the Holiday Inn Express standards. It's something I rely on whenever I stay at one these properties.
I go to this hotel every other month for a class, I dont stay here so I am not sure what amenties they have. There is a class there so I go. I must say the chairs they have in the conference rooms are very unconfortable they hurt my legs and there seems to be an issue with the wifi everytime I take a class there, not sure what is going on there.
Was quoted the wrong price for a room and it was too late to cancel without getting charged. Front desk manager was condescending and unwilling to admit any fault on their end or work to reconcile the situation.
Horrible hotel to stay at, never had such a highly negative experience at a hotel before. We had our reservation transferred from a nearby Holiday Inn due to their WiFi being down, so stayed here for three nights (still here - checking out today actually), and the other hotel was very accommodating and pleasant - very good customer service. This hotel however, worst experience I've ever had with customer/guest service when staying at a hotel. It's appalling that they blatantly violated ADA laws regarding service dogs and what sort of questions and information they can ask for. Even when I specifically told the woman at the front desk, then SHOWED her the laws stating what can and cannot be asked about and what information can/cannot be requested, she STILL told us that we couldn't stay here without showing proof and/or paying their "cleaning/pet fee", even though service dogs are, by law, supposed to be exempt from these fees (otherwise they're basically forcing me to pay for having a disability and needing a service animal). The entire conversation with the woman when we checked in was unbelievable and unprofessional. And then after two nights, someone else knocked on our door to tell us that they didn't allow pets at the hotel, then also demanded proof. She then went on to say that they had received "numerous complaints about the dog" (even though we've only encountered a couple other guests during our entire stay here Hotel is basically empty it seems), but never said what exactly the complaints were about (you'd never even know the dog is in the room with us, she's extremely quiet). When I stated that we'd been through all that BS (didn't word it quite like that though :) heh) when checking in, she asked, "oh, so you already paid the $300 pet fee?" I said "yep" then closed the door. I've stayed at countless hotels at various hotel chains/brands and I've NEVER had an experience like this one before. Even at $300+/night hotels that didn't allow pets, I never had any problems and I was never required to pay any extra fees in order to stay. I really hope the staff at this Holiday Inn brush up on the ADA laws and what their legal limitations are for what they can ask about or what information they can request from me about my service dog and whether they're legally able to charge me extra for having my service dog with me. Also want to mention that the other Holiday Inn (in Farmington Hills on Grand River Ave.) had a "No Pets" policy as well, and it was absolutely no trouble at all to have the dog there and they never tried charging me anything extra for having the dog there.
Amazing front desk, really tasty breakfast, clean comfy rooms/beds. Pool is nothing fancy and kinda small.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with both pork and turkey sausages. We needed a crib and they provided one with a zippered sheet and a note that it had all been disinfected. They gave us a late check out which helped with having the baby and a later flight. Exercise room was very basic but clean.
THE BEST HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS EVER! My husband and I have stayed in them around Florida also and we have NO complaints. Our room's (Dayton, Oh. Farmington Hill's Mich. then to Grand Rapids, Mich all in one week) were clean, spacious and quite when we needed sleep. The staff, REALLY nice, service with a smile all questions answered and more information about the area shopping, restaurants etc. was given. THANK YOU HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS.
I was in town for business, I work at night and sleep during the day. This requires me to check in early to sleep, then I checkout around midnight.
Even though they had rooms available they would not check me in early without charging me a additional $50.
I explained my work situation to no avail, so I canceled my reservation and went down the block to the Hampton Inn which understood my needs and checked me right in.
I wish I could give this hotel and staff a lower rating.
Rooms were very clean and had many amenitys for the price. The free breakfast was delicious, every part of it was perfect. 5/5 would stay again.
A pleasant suite, timely front desk service when we needed towels, decent breakfast. What else to say? Was convenient and cheaper to attend a convention taking place at the Sheraton across the street.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast is phenomenal; sausage, eggs, pancakes and more! Coffee is also available in the room and in the breakfast lounge all day, which is a major plus to me.
Everything I've come to expect from Holiday inn. Courteous staff, clean and comfortable rooms. The best part is the 'push button, get pancake' machine. A great way to start the morning.
I've stayed at this location at least 30-40 times over the years and have never had an issue working with them. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the lobby area is well kept.
