One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. When we made the reservations several months ago we were told they were puppy friendly, well when we got there we were told they had a management change and there would be a thirty five dollar charge for our puppy. Then when the wife got one of the carts so we could carry our things into our room one of the staff girls said where are you going with that? No water pressure at either the sink or the shower, you'd have to run around in the shower just to get wet. All in all if you are serious about staying somewhere I'd recommend the Hampton just down the street or just stay in your car. If this was the only place to stop for the night I'd keep going somewhere, any where has got to be better than this dump.

This place was terrible. Some of the staff were very friendly and others were okay. Here are a list of things I dealt with while there.

The AC fell out of the wall (yes you read that right)

The toilet was stopped up constantly

Cleaning crew did not clean. No made beds no nothing!

The room smelled like dirty dogs. I asked someone to spray. .i asked each day. It's the most 'cleaning ' they did

There was mold. Lots of mold

Also there were spider webs. I'm talking it could've been used as Halloween decor spiderwebs. It was large and taking up a lot of the wall. And most definitely real.

No one changed the towels in the bathroom

The breakfast was 3 out of 5

You get the point by now im sure.

Also I stayed at a different holiday in recently and it was much better. I'm not saying they all suck, just this one.

When i stayed here the side entrance door was broken anyone could just walk in off the street bypassing the front desk. Check-in was a breeze. I slept well comfortable bed. Housekeepers need to do a better job cleaning the shower.

Comfortable beds, satisfactory breakfast, pleasant staff.
The rooms don't appear to be cleaned very thoroughly. We enountered quite a few issues with the lights not working, the toilet not flushing, etc.
Don't expect the suite style rooms to be very spacious. The "pull out couch" is a tiny cot, the kitchenette does not include counter space or a sink.
I was here for five nights. Overall, not a bad experience but there is much room for improvement.

My family did not have a good experience here. The first room we were given was damp (linens on beds, carpet, chairs) and incredibly musty. We asked to switch rooms and were accommodated nicely by the person at the front desk. The second room we were given didn't appear to have been cleaned thoroughly at all. There was hair all in the bathtub and there were peeled off fingernails all throughout the carpet in the main part of the room. It clearly had not been vacuumed well and I insisted on a new, clean room, as I have a crawling baby who likes to pick everything up and put it in his mouth. Gross!! Our third room was fine and like I said, the people were nice enough, but I was not impressed by the cleanliness of the first 2 rooms and that ruined the experience for me. We had been traveling all day and had 4 kids, so moving rooms 3 times was a huge inconvenience. We asked to speak to management about our experience. I have tried calling a few times but my calls were never returned.

Nice hotel just off of I-20 in the Birmingham area. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast had a good variety and was appetizing, including the cinnamon rolls. The wifi was quite slow, which seemed to be he only issue we experienced while here.

It should be noted that (as of July 7, 2017) they are currently renovating the hotel's rooms and entrance. There will be some inconvenience related to the ongoing construction. Otherwise, this is a good hotel and we have enjoyed our stay.

Friendly staff, and the breakfast was really good in the morning. Where to start with everything else? The first room I had was pretty terrible. The first thing I noticed was that the room smelled like urine. The toilet doesn't flush unless you hold the handle down. The shower wouldn't drain properly, so you might be standing in your own filth while you shower. The cable has a lot of static on the TV. After the staff listened to my complaint, I was upgraded to a "better" room. This room didn't smell much better and the shower does not keep the water from the floor even with the shower curtain, but I was too tired to complain anymore. I probably wouldn't stay here again, but again the staff was at least nice.

I would come back here if I were coming through Birmingham again. The price is well worth the spacious room, breakfast, wi-fi, and allowing our pets to stay as well. The staff was kind, even when I stopped the desk attendant for a bandage at midnight. The hotel is not terribly old, and is quiet, both from inside the room as well as in the halls. Kudos to the team and management of this Holiday Inn Express!

This is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. The staff was amazing and so sweet. The breakfast was so good. Everything was cleaned well. I just loved this hotel.

The location is just off I 20 and nearby to several key spots including shopping and food. 15 minute drive to downtown assuming no traffic. The breakfast is pretty good for hotel breakfast. Pancakes, waffles, muffins, eggs, and some meats and cereals. The service is very good. Hotel is overall quiet and the staff is friendly.
