Staff are professional & friendly. Parking fee seemed high, but it is downtown. You can street park after business hours to save $. Rooms were very nice, spacious, tasteful decor. Bed was so COMFY!

We checked in and had a little problem with the room. Talked to reception and straight away resolved it very professionally. Couldn't be happier. Location is exceptional, hotel truly clean and staff very nice. Travelling with kids and 2 adults. Highly recommended it.

Location..location..location! Awesome service..front desk..valets..room attendants and breakfast attendants all were on point. We came for a holiday weekend getaway to visit the Civil Rights Institute and surrounding historical sights. We chose to walk and it was a beautiful day to do so.
Birmingham has proven to be a historic jewel. My husband and I are already thinking of it as a future family reunion destination.
We definitely will suggest the Hampton Inn as the lodging for the event! Thank you!response / report this review -

The common areas of this hotel are really quite beautiful, and they've done a great job with renovations in what is clearly an old building. The room was pretty typical of a Hampton Inn as was the breakfast. The shower head needs an update as well as the carpet in the room, but overall it was nice enough, specially for the deal I got on it. They offer valet parking for an outrageous price or you can park at a meter, but those are free on weekends so that's what we did. Hotel staff were friendly and would definitely stay again.

This is a really nice hotel. I was in town for a Chris Rock show and the staff was extremely accommodating. Parking with valet is easy or you can park on the street on the weekends. I will definitely be back!

Service at the Tutwiler was tremendous. Right off the bat, they upgraded our room in celebration of my wife's birthday. When we reached that suite, we found a lovely sitting room, a well-appointed bedroom and a perfectly acceptable bathroom. Best of all, the room had a balcony overlooking Birmingham. The includes breakfast the next morning was standard hotel fare, but given that it was included, no complaints from me. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely patronize this establishment again.

Awesome Hampton in a building that's over 100. Street, unmonitored garage, only or valet only for parking. The staff for were great and they had the best grits at breakfast (gotta love the south!). WiFi was on the slow side though, needs improvement.

The best hotel I've stayed at in a long time! Very interesting, as a 100-year-old building, beautiful--stunning, really. Comfortable and pleasant. The staff was outstanding! You could easily tell how proud they were to be a part of that hotel's legacy.

Stayed for 2 weeks for a jury trial. The whole staff was quick to address any special requests that I had - and there were several. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and willing to go the extra mile to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. By the 2nd or 3rd day the staff greeted me by name. There is no finer hotel in downtown Birmingham.
