I was staying with the hotel for a friend's wedding. I reserved a hotel room for Saturday night. We check in and my husband pays with his credit card not the credit card that I asked them to hold onto for the reservation but do not charge. They charged my card and my husband's card. This is well over a month ago and I'm still waiting to get my refund. I have talked to the manager twice she assured me that the refund has been given but it's a week and a half and I still have not received a refund from the second time I have had to call. I tried not to complain whenever they had to move me in the middle of the night because my AC did not work mind you it didn't work on the whole second floor at all. But this is ridiculous they will charge you and not give you a refund when they make a mistake very very upset with this hotel it's not professional at all

Very nice staff. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. My only complaints are the indoor pool was too cold to swim in and the new decor. A few years ago when I stayed here the lobby was decorated in a way that represented the town it's in. Textile industry decor with information about Gastonia's history. Now it has been remodeled too look like every other boring hotel, it was nice but no longer charming. However, that would not stop me from staying again.

Great hotel. The hotel is ran very professionally. This hotel accepts dogs which is why I stayed there. Breakfast was great. I stayed at higher end hotels where I could not bring my dog and breakfast was a cold one. Oh and clean, clean, clean. Staff very professional and courteous. No complaints at all.

The staff here are awesome!!! This is my second week staying here an have had no issues . Folks are friendly an the hotel is super clean. Do yourself a favor an spend the night here an get a good nights rest.

My husband and I, along with our 3 dogs, were recent evacuees from Hurricane Irma. We have traveled a fair amount with our pets and it hasn't always been easy with size restrictions and unreasonable pet fees. Not only did the staff at this hotel make an exception for us (size), they waived the pet fee given our circumstances!! The entire staff there was polite, helpful and we were very comfortable in our room for the 4 nights we stayed. Thank you for your compassion during a very stressful time.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. Better than the Disney resort we were just at. The continental breakfast starts at 6:30, I just wish it went til 10 during the week. My kids liked the pancake machine. We were also very grateful to find a pet friendly hotel during the Irma evacuation. If we need to come this way again and stay the night, we would definitely consider the Holiday Inn Express again.

Nice place, updated look. Nice and quiet but locations a bit tricky to get to. Gas station convenient store, Taco Bell and Greek restaurant within walking distance. I'd stay here again.

This is a nice hotel. The lobby is very inviting, the staff was friendly and competent, and the room was clean and attractive. There were some maintenance needs in the room (shower rod coming loose from the wall), but otherwise it was a good place to spend the night.
The breakfast bar could use some attention. It was bare-boned and the only condiments available were mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup. Some salsa and sour cream would have really raised the standard for the pre-made omelets. Really good coffee.response / report this review -

As I get older, "more comfortable", means a great deal to me. I regularly travel the I -77 and I -81 corridor. I drive part way to my final destination and spend the night. The Gastonia location suites me perfectly. The inn is just off the interstate, but very quiet. It has ample, well lit parking with a gas station across the street. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and well maintained. The linens, pillows and towels are very soft. Easy check-in, express check-out and breakfast bar. After traveling 400 + miles, it's a welcomed experience to sleep soundly and comfortably. I would recommend this accommodation to any weary traveler. There is a great local pizza delivery service if it's late and you have been traveling on an empty stomach. I will certainly be back.

It's noisey being right by the highway, they gave me a room that was dirty and the second day I came in and though I paid for 3 days my key was voided. My mother is in a morgue and now this? I was offered no compensation. NEVER AGAIN!

A great stay that meets the standards of the brand. There are renovations going on (currently March '17) but the lobby seems to be done. I really like the contemporary/modern look.

Phenomenal staff, every person I interacted with was stellar. The property was great, the room was lovely and smelled fantastic. First experience with Holiday Inn Express, will not be my last.
