DeSoto hotel is located in a very nice area of Savannah.
Within walking distance of many of the sites and food areas of Savannah.
You may want to take a trolley to the riverfront area it would be a pretty on long walk.
Make sure you walk around behind the hotel. Lots of food and shops and several squares to visit and read about the history.

They have valet parking at the hotel.
Rooms are up to date. Small restrooms (which I love! Always give me more living space!) Wood floors. Modern furniture.

Nice views from the side of hotel I was on.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of historic Savannah. I walked everywhere to see the sights while my husband attended a business conference. It was convenient to many restaurants we enjoyed as well.

Hotel staff were courteous. The bartender made a delicious gin and tonic after suggesting a local gin.

Overall, this was a lovely experience.

First time we have ever stayed at a hotel that felt like home away from home! Megan, Geraldine Wil, the valet team and the rest of the hospitality staff were always very patient, courteous and professional. It was my wife's birthday and Megan had a bottle of champagne and fruit sent up! We loved that. We had some of the best rest and relaxation! The facility upgrades are well finished and the location is perfect. I highly recommend this location when you visit Savannah!!!

We found this new hotel in the heart of the historic district to be perfect. Incredible service, clean and comfortable rooms, the friendliest employees we have ever experienced. The bar, P&P has an amazing whiskey selection and menu: a great porch overlooking Liberty Street to sit and relax while people watching. 1540 might be the best meal we have ever had: incredible farm to table experience. We can't wait to return.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and loved it. It was close walking distance to great shops and food. The staff was wonderful and upon checking in we mentioned briefly that it was our anniversary and they surprised us with champagne in our room! It was a wonderful detail that made our trip amazing. We would definitely stay here again!

Loved this hotel! It makes you feel very fancy. There were a few hick ups during our stay but it wasn't anything to where I wouldn't go back. It's in more down town savannah, so it's a nice little walk to River and Bay st. But you get to see so much more. There are so many little coffee shops I had no idea about until now. Which was awesome because I love my coffee!

Stayed 9/19 trough 9/21 for honeymoon(Maggard). Our room was on the second floor right next to the pool/bar, music played until 9pm. Second day woke up to construction workers outside patio drill, grinding. When we complained we were told that was the type of room we paid. What appeared online to be a great hotel turned out to be a very bad choice. I would not recommend this hotel.

Love, love, love this place! It has the most incredible views of Savannah and it's in the best location, right near all the historic squares! The staff couldn't be nicer and the restaurant was wonderful-- plus they have the cutest sip & stroll cups you can take with you. You're walking distance to some amazing historic homes, shopping, restaurants and the Farmer's Market in Forsyth Park! We can't wait to return!

This is my favorite bar in town. I go every 1st and 3rd Friday night after my Masonic meetings. The bartender knows our drinks and treats us like old friends visiting her home. The renovation that was recently done is beautiful. I wish they had not put in TVs but then staff turns them off if we ask. Highly recommend.

The newly-renovated DeSoto Hotel has a lot to offer. It has a new bourbon bar, which is very nice, as well as a newly redone outdoor seating area. I have been in the rooms upstairs, which are very nice. I love the location, proximity to downtown life without having to cross the river.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms have been recently updated and feel modern and comfortable. The valet service was excellent and each person I encountered was very friendly. Be advised that there is no street parking and the valet will be charged by the day. The hotel is located within walking and/or short driving distance to most places downtown and along the river.

I went to the hotel with my girlfriend and although the view from our room was beautiful the air conditioning wasn't working correctly. After calling maintenance twice with no improvement the hotel desk informed us that there were no alternative rooms. After a hot night we tried taking a shower but the water kept shutting off. We spoke to the front desk asking for management and was given a discount. They were polite about it but weren't overly friendly. For the cost we paid, it wasn't worth it.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was a nice size and the views were truly appreciated. You will like it especially since they are doing renovations to this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel back in July 2016 and two weeks ago (February 2017). If you enjoy being woken up at 7:00 AM on the weekends by hammering and drilling, this place is great. Guest services doesn't care one bit either if you ask politely to move away from the renovations. For $250+ a night, I expect a little peace and quiet. I didn't know this concept was so difficult for this hotel to understand. Oh also enjoyed being charged for parking for days that I wasn't there! Will never give this hotel another chance, even after renovations. Very dirty and the staff doesn't change sheets between stays.

The rooms are very old and dusty i gave this place a third and last try. I travel to Savannah once a week for work. My office no longer books here after our team members all complained. They are remodeling this year which is much needed 2017 they should have done this years ago. But I will not return the late night staff is also rude. The morning staff and manager are nice
