We attended a social ball the night of Dec 7th and stayed that night at the Marriott. The hotel is undergoing renovations so there is a lot of construction personnel, noise and smells (especially paint). Our room was one of the newly refurbished areas and it looked nice however the tub in the bathroom was still old and it detracted from the niceness of the room. The next morning we were awoken early by what I can only assume were housekeeping personnel having very raucous conversations in the hallway. I guess it's good to know that they enjoy their jobs however it was not the peaceful atmosphere we were looking for after attending a late night event at their hotel. Noise seemed to travel very easily between the walls as we could hear every movement and action of our adjacent neighbors.
I got great discount from my group. Great staff. This is one thing that I want all to know. I gave them cleaning rate 3 out of 10. I was in room 424 and there's a women underwear hidden on the back of the toilet chair. YOU told me what do you think? I also in the ceiling fan there is a dirty thing and it looks like a dead bet 😷. Also, when we were in the big rooms (conference rooms), there was dirt kept falling on us
A beautiful hotel, wonderful ammenities, really good food from bistro. Interior rooms have balconies into the atrium of the hotel that overlook the restaurant and lobby. Beds were super comfortable and very nice, modern rooms. The staff was very friendly and courteous throughout our stay. The only issue is from them working on updating / remodelling, but other than that, it was a great stay.
I stayed at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront on October 28, 2017 in room 466. I try my best to be optimistic about things and look at the bright side, but for this hotel stay I was very disappointed. I was star struck when I saw that there was a hotel on the river and for years I really wanted to stay there. Little did I know that when I did get the opportunity to travel back to Savannah,I would be so disappointed in my hotel stay. The first impression that I got of the room was this really fowl odor which smelled like smoke, luckily I packed my air freshener and I just said it's an old hotel. Secondly, there is what sounded like a race track across the water and I didn't know until it sounded like the Atlanta Motor Speedway the entirety of my stay. I still tried not to complain, but it was really bad when my room would not cool and the air conditioning unit made this really loud banging noise randomly and also when it would kick on. I was jolted out of my sleep several times during the night as a result of that noise on top of a mattress that concave in the middle. I had to limit my showers in the room because the shower had standing water, and my first impression was that it was not properly cleaned. The next day my back was hurting, I was restless, and I couldn't wait to get home to take a proper shower. I felt terrible after my stay because it hurt my feelings that I spent my hard earned money on a room that was in such bad shape also what was supposed to be a restful retreat from my everyday life turned into a burden. I had to drive 4 hours back home disappointed and sore from the bed mattress.
Nice hotel. Nice room. Great location. Went this weekend for a tradeshow at the hotel in which I had a great time. Staff were nice and friendly. The hotel is remodeling right now so if you are trying to rest in the day time you may have a problem otherwise no complaints. I will visit again.
Hotel is undergoing much needed renovation. New rooms are very nice. Staff is very professional and courteous. A bit of a walk to some Savannah tourist spots, but not too bad. Very close to River Street.
The staff were very helpful, bringing us ice and more glasses when we first arrived, suggesting and directing us how to get to local restaurants, and helping with transportation. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but it did not interfere with our night there. The room had double queen beds, perfect for the 4 of us, and included a balcony with a nice view.
We came here for our honeymoon. The first night we were in a room with a great view on the 8th floor. It was a little hot in the room so they came and tried to repair. The next morning it was still warm. We went down to the desk and explained, and they were 100% understanding. I have never meet any staff more apologetic and helpful. Not only did they upgrade our room they gave us complimentary breakfast. We also had drinks at the bar and not only were they were amazing, once again the staff was amazing. They really made sure we were having a good time and enjoyed our stay. At the end of our last day we had champagne and strawberries in our room. This truly was the best experience by far with any hotel my husband and I have ever stayed. Ivan, Brandon, Tiara, and Ryan, thank you very much for making this trip one of the best we've ever had.
Renovations are in going. Superb reception by Glenn. Renovated rooms are clean functional with nice furniture. The most friendly employee of any hotel. I'm sure after renovations rains will go up. Very nice and safe area.
Overall, my Fiance and I were satisfied with our stay, but there were a few things that could/should be addressed. For starters, the ac in our room did not blow very cold even though I kept the thermostat at 68, the room temperature never dropped below the mid 70's. There was also a spot in our room furniture for a fridge, but no fridge. The property was also undergoing renovations, which is a good thing, but it would've been nice to know about these ongoing renovations in advance.
Theses are all things that, by no means, ruined our stay, but should be addressed. The location of this hotel and the views from our room were spectacular!!!
My friends and I just completed a two-day stay here. The staff was amazing!! Everyone was helpful and friendly, always aiming to please. Thank you Shane, Keisha, James and so many more for a wonderful time!
Beware.the hotel is under major renovations. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean but don't plan to take a nap during the day. It's very noisy from guys doing drywall and operating air compressors throughout. I had an issue with my refrigerator not working which in turn ruined the stuff I just purchased from the grocery. No big deal but it took two days with two request to get it fixed. The fix must have been unplugging the television to plug in the new refrigerator. Lol. The elevators are sketchy and pop when you're riding so I took the stairs. You can't make this stuff up. This will be a nice place when finished. Until then, I would recommend one of the other riverfront hotels until this one is completely renovated.
Although under renovations our stay was pleasant. No breakfast offered though for elite status members. The room was clean, comfortable. The staff was great. The location was fantastic!
I give this review at a time when renovations are currently in progress, so take that as you will. The rooms are pretty standard. As it is, this hotel is ok. Great location! I'm sure after the renovations it will be great.
We got upgraded to a suite that faced the river, appreciated that a lot! The room was very open and the bed was so comfortable. The staff was always so friendly which made the stay even better!!! I think we will be back :) Thanks Marriot!
