Stopped for a snack and drink at the Miller Time Pub & Grill at the hotel after a concert at The Riverside theatre. It was about the only place in the area serving food at 11pm. I ended up getting a Maker's Manhattan and the Cheeseburger. The drink is the worst Manhattan I've ever been served. Tasted like all Vermouth. Nearly undrinkable. The burger was actually pretty good. Seemed like handmade patties and the bun was soft and doughy like I like them. The fries on the side were not great. I was happy that somewhere was open for a late night bite but I wish it could have been a bit better.

This is the worst hotel in my last 500+ nights traveling. Stay away! The rooms offer barely enough space to change your mind even that is too late smaller than my bathroom at home. There is NO climate control, despite the decorative wall ornament one might assume was a thermostat. The staff finally admitted they are not connected. The mattresses are fine if you like sleeping on a rock. Easily the worst night stay you could imagine unless you judge solely on the beauty of historic lobby, which is unquestionable. But if you want a decent night sleep Stay anywhere else!

Check in was smooth and the monarch bar is nice, I'll say that. Otherwise, here goes
The room
1. I was placed on the 6th floor - above the event level where the ballroom and meeting rooms were located. So, I had the pleasure of hearing doors slam and plates fall throughout the night. Avoid this floor if possible.
2. Not only was I above noise, I was BESIDE it as well. My room was next to the housekeeping closet. So, I was awakened in the wee hours of the morning. No sleep at night and no way to recover in the morning.
The bathroom
3. The toilet was very close to the door. Now, for a short person, you'll be good. But, if you're 5'9" like me or taller, you'll be uncomfortable each bathroom visit because your knees will be against the door THEN, your head will hit the doorknob as you lean forward to "wrap up."
4. The vanity is small. My items barely fit so a couple or a family would have to go in one by one unfortunately. There's no way I was putting my toiletries on the little bar over the toilet.
5. Dirty towels. Enough said
The hotel
6. The hotel is old and despite the updates, you still know it's old. The biggest indicator is the carpet. Its dirty and sticky. The other indicator is the ceiling. Also, the lights in this hotel are dim - it's not bright and vibrant. I want to see bright lights when I walk in and feel like I'm in a clean place.
I was here on business for a meeting. I would not choose this place for leisure.response / report this review -

They have Millie the dog as a concierge assistant as the cherry on top. This place is great, the architecture is 1920’s Art Deco and all of the staff bends over backwards to make sure your stay is top notch. The prices are well worth the location and service you get here. Honestly you can’t get much cheaper in down town Milwaukee.

Stayed for Valentines Day Weekend - would return for awesome lobby. The room was nice enough, a bit basic, but we were just booking a place to stay for the night. We loved hanging out in the lobby bar, its beautiful and great atmosphere. We missed seeing Millie the Dog but total reason to return. Location is great for travel and parking is very easy. Saved $5 by parking across the street with Spot Hero.

Nice hotel. Historic building, so it's built around that on the inside, meaning rooms are small, but adequately sized. Rooms were clean and had good views of downtown. Hotel is close to lots of restaurants, Harley museum and river. Miller pub downstairs is good.

Nice hotel in the heart of Milwaukee! Very nice lobby and lounge on the main floor with a cool "hotel dog" that hangs out down there. The rooms are pretty Standart hotel rooms with pretty average temperature controls that don't get the temp quite right. Breakfast is not included, but is pretty good, though they don't kick people out who sit there screaming about how they want free breakfast. So that was annoying.

Very old building, with a beautifully decorated lobby. However, the age of the building is clearly evident in the rooms. Aside from the desk and bed-frames, nothing else has been updated. We switched rooms hoping it was a one off, but both were in similar condition. Note, in both rooms, the light blocking blinds don't block much light, and there is only one layer of curtains; if you are sensitive to light in the morning, don't sleep here.
I've never commented on uncomfortable beds before, but both my wife and myself woke up with lower back pain.
At literally 8:15 am a member of the hotel staff knocked on the door and tried coming in to my room. If it were not for the safety door latch holding the door closed, he would have come opened it completely (he tried).
To make matters unforgettable, upon leaving the room for good, we found condom wrappers next to the desk.
Won't stay here again, had much better experiences at the Hyatt two blocks to the east. For those that do plan on staying, there is no valet, only self-parking. Save the hassle, and simply park yourself literally across the hotel at the huge, visible, easy to find, cheaper, lot across the two-lane street.response / report this review -

I bought 15 rooms at this hotel for my wedding. While the rooms were fine, every single aspect of the reservation process was painful and horrible. I had five different associates assigned to me in the span of 7 months. Every new associate helping me I had to walk back through the whole process with. At first, every room reservation was accidentally doubled. Then I needed to make some changes to the reservations. I called and after an hour long conversation was able to make the changes (I thought). When we checked in however none of the changes I made actually went through which resulted in my husband and myself having to wait at reception while our guests checked in to make sure every one of them actually had a room under their name. Lastly, I wanted to pay for the rooms and even though I filled out the online form, at check in I still had to walk through every single reservation number with the front desk (took over 1.5 hours the day before my wedding when I had many better things to be doing) and still two of my guests were charged. The rooms were fine, but the quality of service was so horrible that I will never go to this hotel again.

The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the city. The rooms were clean and roomy with all the necessary amenities. The only reason i didn't give it a 5 star was because we had to call for room service to bring us extra towels the next day. Was hoping for more speedy service. Other than that everyone was really nice and courteous.

Really nice common areas, good variety of places to eat/drink on site and super close to other downtown restaurants. Room was nice, wish it had a mini fridge though as seems to be default for most newer hotels. Same for bathroom, it's fine, but smallish for today's standards. Lastly, I read that free WiFi was not included, but my wife and I connected 3 devices with no issue. Bottom line would not hesitate to stay again.

Attended a wedding reception here. it was amazing! Great bartenders! Beautiful venue. Wait staff was only okay. Some we're kind of rude to my nieces.. Not cool, but others were great so that was nice.

Rooms are overall clean. However, ours was small with a small bathroom and furniture that appears outdated. The tub drains slowly, resulting in several inches of standing water by the time one finishes showering. The lights are dim. We blew a fuse plugging in one appliance. There is no fan in the bathroom. The fans on the room do not turn on very high and changing the thermostat did not change the temperature accordingly. There is also a lot of noise bleeding into our room, either from the hallway or other rooms. The beds are comfortable, though, with fresh linen and nice pillows. The bellhop was nice at check in. Location is central, with easy access to the highways.

Stayed here 7/5-7/9 for Summerfest. Checked in at 9am on the Hilton app. Arrived at 4pm to find a lobby full of unhappy people because none of the rooms were ready. Waited in line of 30 people or so. Surprisingly went really fast. Told me they would call when room was ready. Staff was super friendly and checked my bags. Disappeared to the fest. They called at 830p to say it was ready but we didn't return until after midnight. I was a bit upset about not being able to shower before going out. Rest of the stay was excellent. Room was clean along with bathroom. Decent downtown place to stay for the money.

Fantastic hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The staff was really welcoming and helpful. Our room had a great view of the city skyline. The lobby and while building is really beautiful and old; though it had been very well maintained. There where plenty of elevators so you never had to wait very long and they are really quick. Parking in the attached structure is $25, in the lot across the street it's $15/day.
