Standard Hampton quality complete with breakfast and a great downtown location. Lots of plugs in the room, very modern and clean. Definitely staying here again.
Decent place, Parking garage is pricey. But it is downtown. Okay continental breakfast. pool area is nice. I stayed for 3 weeks straight while visiting Milwaukee. Close to everything downtown.
Clean and quiet. Nicely updated for an older city building. Staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet was the usual continental hotel breakfast and was well-prepared with plenty of selection. Pool is a decent size for a hotel with water maintained at a comfy temperature. Easy walking distance of theaters and many good restaurant options. About a half mile from the museum area, and we actually would have chosen to walk that if the weather hadn’t been incredibly windy, rainy, and chilly!
The only things I could complain about are the construction in the parking garage that made parking and getting in and out slightly inconvenient, poor water pressure in the shower in our room, and the fact that all the towels (both at the pool and in the room), while perfectly clean, were very rough and scratchy. These were only minor inconveniences in an overall great stay, however!
Great place for families (many breakfast options and pool), but also means very busy breakfast and pool area. Nice staff, but also seemingly understaffed (waited 1+ hours for towels in the pool area after multiple requests). Thin walls means you can hear guests to your side and above you; bring your earplugs. Great location. Some broken items in hotel room. Overall decent place for a family trip to MKE.
The room was clean and fairly quiet. The hotel staff was accommodating. Most of the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. If you are going to be coming and going frequently, I'd recommend the valet parking versus the city parking garage (much more reasonable and you can come and go as you please, without paying each time). The pool/hot tub area is open till 11 pm and is nice. The daily Continental breakfast was good; lots of food options.
Wifi sucks here but I am sure it's better IF YOU PAY for the premium wifi. Staff is knowledgeable and the overall appearance is nice as well as clean.
Update: My fiance and I were trapped on the Hampton Inn and Suites elevator Saturday (10/28/17) after an event that we had went to that evening. There were other patrons of the hotel that also attended the event as well. Before the evening had started, staff decided to post signs on the INSIDE instead of the outside of the elevator, stating that if the elevator was overcrowded/over capacity, it could malfunction and seize to work. We and one other person waited 3 minutes for the elevator to come down while no one else was around. As we were about to board, a crowd of people bum rushed onto the elevator with us and before we had a chance to say something to the other patrons, the elevator sank about a foot to a foot and half down as well as the doors closing. It took about 20 minutes to get us out (thank you Milwaukee Fire Department!!!). When I had brought it to the staffs attention the next morning, they put blame on us and told us it was our responsibility/fault that it happpened. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS HOTEL. Short staffed the night this happened and puts the safety on the customer not on themselves.
I had a big group with multiple rooms come in and we had to get keys/check-in figured out around 5pm on October 28, 2017. The staff members were helpful in doing their job.
A little later, I happen to walk by the front desk again and said thanks during the stressful moments of figuring out keys and reservations, but one staff member in particular was highly rude to me when I said my thanks. It was a bald, white man working front desk around 5pm on October 28, 2017. He exclusively looked at the other younger African American girl employee and talked to her (not me, it was like I was invisible - despite me saying thank you very much for helping out my group) and said "we didn't do anything, we just stood there." He continued to say more, but I was so upset I walked away due to getting no appreciation for what I said. I was taken aback because I was going out of my way to show thanks, and he didn't seem to be receptive at all, no eye contact with me.
It really upsets me that there was no ounce of gratefulness and a complete absence of customer service in the way this employee treated me. He seemed to be possibly the supervisor of the shift, but the first thing I would stress to the check-in staff at a hotel would be politeness due to the people coming to stay at the hotel are already highly stressed due to traveling. It sets a bad precedent for other employees if their superior is treating customers in a negative manner.
I was already highly on edge from the small amount of sleep and an all-day conference I attended. The last thing I wanted to face was rejection and coldness from check-in staff. Upper management of this hotel should really look into better customer service training for their employees who work with customers as the soul purpose of the job. It really puts a bad taste in the mouths of customers to have the first people you interact with at the hotel to be snippy and rude. I will never talk highly of this particular hotel nor recommend it to anyone I talk to.
Disclaimer: I used the racial makeup of these employees because I did not get names, I want to be fully transparent that I am not trying to be discriminatory in the language of this review. Disappointed in my experience.
The room was clean. The front desk staff were not very friendly but did there jobs fine. Good breakfast. The guy who took care of the breakfast was great.
The woman at the front desk was very rude and disrespectful. She spoke to me with a different tone then the family that also needed assistance. Had another issue with the hotel and had to call the front desk the woman was still very rude very displeasing tone and would cut me off while I was talking. I even spoke to a supervisor after and not once did he acknowledge it apologize for the customer service I was provided. Thanks for ruining my birthday. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Hotel is located downtown, walking distance to the lake. Lots to do with restaurants and bars nearby. Hotel also had an agreement with Golds Gym. Rooms are nice with comfortable beds. Complimentary breakfast every morning. The only downside is the poor cell phone reception.
Had a great stay we had a/c unit that was broking, staff took care of us with a upgraded room and refunded the night for us had a great experience will return
Very nice hotel but room Air Conditioner was broken and always on even when I turned the thermostat off. Ended up getting very cold but maintenance came and turned it off. Good thing the room stayed cool.
Overall great hotel and location. Standard room with plenty of plugs and the breakfast in the morning. It is in a great location downtown. Would love to stay here again.
I booked this room for $320 for my anniversary. Just look at the pic's and I did not take a pic of the broken toilet. I included the nice email they sent me.
My room was very clean and nice. The pool area is a little small, but at least they have one. No cell phone reception which really puts this hotel at a 3 star. The staff was too nice to rate it that way though. Would stay here again. The free breakfast was very nice for a free one.
