Good food. Great interior. Live music and solid staff.
Followed a recommendation and we were not disappointed - great dinner amongst trees and lovely decor (check out the blowfish chandelier). Delicious octopus and scallops! So we're recommending onwards to you :)
Satisfying surroundings with unsatisfying food. I expected with a celebrated chef owning this restaurant to receive a meal that was beautifully balanced, however when I received my “three little pigs hash” with prosciutto and pork belly, the potatoes were so fried that they were like giant french fries and very heavy and together with the pork belly and prosciutto and over cooked fried eggs, I could barely get from one bite to the next! It came with no fresh salsa or salad or any type of greens to balance the heaviness. I love hashes but this dish does not deliver. Also, we received the beignets with the espresso anglais which barely had any espresso flavor and the cappuccino I received was cold. So much for brunch!
Food was great but service was mixed. Part of a large group and when we sat down to eat the food came promptly and service was good. After dinner and settling the bill some of us moved over to the bar side and stood at the bar for like 15 minutes waiting to order. It was as if the bartender just decided we weren't worth serving. He was busy chatting away with another customer. We took a couple of steps closer and he just refused to see us. So we left for another bar.
I'm surprised at some of the reviews based on my recent experience. I believe this restaurant tries too hard to be something it isn't and as a result fails at the most important things: good food, good service and good value. I found it humorous that our waiter spent so much time on what his favorites are on the menu completely unsolicited. Who cares? If we have any questions about the menu we would ask. For breakfast I ordered something on the menu called the 'basic'. Hard to imagine how anyone could screw up anything called the basic. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and some sort of potato crisp balls. The eggs were inedible. They were either rotten or cooked in a pan that had some sort of rancid residue in it. The toast was dry and hard as a rock. I didn't eat it because I was concerned about chipping a tooth. The potato was just plain weird. I'm not sure what it was actually. some sort of deep fried potato goo ball or something. The bacon was pretty good though. I should have just ordered a side of bacon for breakfast. The waiter forgot about the coffee. By the time he remembered I just wanted to get out of there. Out of four people in the party, one of us had a meal they thought was decent. I thought the bill was a little on the high side for what we got but would have gladly paid it if i thought the food and experience were worth it. It wasn't. Have no reason to ever go back
Wow! Amazing options Very cool space. Service was outstanding. Rebecca is the best server I have ever had!!!
I have had oysters at so many places trying to find a place to match the freshness and taste of the osters I had in Brittish Columbia. This is the place! I went on a Monday where the chef selected oysters "Minter Sweet" were a $1 each. I tried all of them and the Minter Sweet were the best and took me back to the oyster bar in Blackcomb Whistler. So happy!
The fried squash blossoms with chevre cheese and lemon curd were amazing too. The Hawaiin Sidecar was delectable as well. Fresh ingredients and every step of the way the flavors were thought about. Service was on point. Steven was our server who was exceptional and the manager Stephan was very accommodating.
Will be back for sure!
Had business lunch here the other day and I ended up getting the burger with chips. I gotta say it was made just right. Each bite was just like butter so my plate was clean in minutes and completely forgot about our business meeting.
Excellent tapas, unusual combinations of ingredients for unique main dishes. It has four large trees inside, each 100 years old making for unique decor.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience. We had our wedding reception dinner here on Friday April 21st. We had guests from all over the country and they couldn't stop talking about how incredible the food was. We offered chicken, steak, pasta and tuna option. Multiple people said how the steak was the best they have ever had. The portions were huge and quality. Every course was perfect. The service was the best service we have EVER had!! Our guests were even tipping the waiters and waitresses because it was just so attentive and amazing. I could go on and on about how amazing this place was. Our guests will remember this dinner forever. Tanya the event planner was incredible and timely in her responses. She went above and beyond to make our dinner customized and perfect. Can't wait to come back!!
Excellent and well priced happy hour oysters. Also enjoyed the pizza. Great service. Pleasant atmosphere although the one man band was a bit loud.
I can't say enough to express how good this place is. To start the atmosphere is very upbeat and I think they have a DJ or live music every night. The decor is awesome with live trees inside the restaurant which is a cool touch. The service was some of the best we have had and that was all 3 times we went here on this trip. The food is really on point, make sure to try the fresh fish appetizer that is served as a whole fish sashimi style and also if you like lobster then get the lobster roll sandwich for lunch. You really won't be disappointed by this place.
Very pricey. Spent 40 dollars on the drinks and didn't order anything because the lunch menu has a poor selection and offers no appetizers. But it is a beautiful restaurant but there are others more affordable around that are worth going too
A lovely restaurant with great seafood. The ambiance is great as well as it appears to be a converted garage. Inside, there are still four large trees that were living until recently making for a unique interior. The seared tuna was outstanding. Service was also very good. They have some unique mixed beverages as well.
