Everything comes in huge portion and the service is great! Every table has its own cute salt and pepper shakers. The location is wonderful since it's on the whalf. However, my husband and I really didn't find the food that tasty. The close to 5 star seems to be overrated to us. Instead, we enjoyed the First Awakenings a lot more the next day when we were in town. Loulou's price might be cheaper. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Huge portions, excellent food ( which definitely doesn't always happen at the same time as huge portions), great service, and fair prices. The pancakes are huge and yet fluffy. I had the omelette and both it and the potatoes were delicious. Would eat here again. And again. And again.

Lou Lou's is awesome every single time. Your best bet - especially for breakfast - is to get there early - before 8:30 am - or else you may be waiting for quite a while. It's a fun atmosphere and simple, delicious food. I make sure to take visitors there because of the food and the view!

FRENCH TOAST AND SQUID OMELETTE! Generous Portions and Delicious Breakfasts! Strong Coffee! Love sitting at the counter and watch our orders being prepared! Lively and fun it is here in the mornings! Crowded so put name down and stroll along the pier till called!

It was a cute family owned spot on the water. The food was great we had an omelet and eggs your way with coffee! The Portuguese sausage was very tasty! The portions are very large we would have definitely been full by charging one plate.

Delicious and worth the wait for the potatoes alone! Great service. Bit of a wait, but if you dont mind strolling the pier and watching seals for 45 minutes, its a must. The hubcap pancakes are ENORMOUS.

Absolutely incredible food. The clam chowder is the best I've ever had, granted that I have never been to New England. They lose a star due to a lack of being family friendly. They did not have any high chairs or booster seats. Children are allowed but they get their own adult chair or are sitting on your lap. If you have children, I would recommend bringing the stroller and sitting outside.

"Family-friendly" is a misleading phrase, they do not have highchairs or booster seats. The outdoor seating provides room for a stroller. But the food was amazing. We tried the clam chowder in a bread bowl, fish n chips, and the kids grilled cheese. The house made clam chowder and house made tartar sauce were fantastic. We'd definitely recommend this place, but with a caveat for families with small children.

It's super hard to decide what to order because everything looks delicious. Surely enough, it is! I sat at the booth where I can see them cook and decided to go for the crab cakes. I did not regret my decision. As I see the chef prepare other dishes, it makes me want to order that too, even though I was already full.
If you want the shrimp cocktail, it is big! It's not in a small cup like most places do it. It is served in a bowl stacked full of shrimp.

This is THE breakfast spot if you're in Monterey! Their pancakes are enormous and their omelettes are incredible! Small dinner setting which offers such a cool experience right on the wharf, super friendly staff, and the food is whipped up in light's speed. If you can, sit at the bar counter and watch them make the food, it's awesome. I got the pop eye omelette and it was great!

The wait to be seated is definitely worth it. I dont really give reviews but this place deserve it. The hostess at the front is very warm, helpful and accommodating. And the food speak for itself. Big portion of yummy foods.

I don't live in Monterey but if I did I would eat here all the time. So much thought and quality goes into the food here. I ate here 2 days in row while I was visiting. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. It's safe to say you probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. The staff is amazing and very friendly, and the chefs make some incredible food. Must try if you're in the area!

Worth the wait! Friendly staff and phenomenal food. My hubby couldn't stop raving on the freshness of the tomatoes and the Banana Hubcap pancake was fun and delicious. Quaint atmosphere and perfect way to start the day.

I love this place and have been here several times. This year I took my class there for dinner when we were on our year end field trip. The co-owner Gigi developed a special menu for my group. The food was great, the atmosphere is wonderful , and the people who work there clearly love their jobs.

BEST grilled salmon I've ever eaten! Melted in my mouth! Very friendly staff, great chef, limited but good menu. Busy yet pleasant location near the beginning of Pier 2. Prices a little higher than mentioned in another online review but I'm totally pleased with our experience!
