Rent from private owners if you want a beautiful updated oceanfront unit at Hawaiian. The negative reviews are from people who rent direct from front desk. Go to VRBO to find fantastic prices and beautiful units from owners, this is my opinion. I have enjoyed the Hawaiian Inn for over 20 years with my family. I love it!!

‼️‼️ PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING AT THE HAWAIIAN INN “RESORT” ‼️‼️
The good:
The look of the motel from the road is very nice and looks clean. The lobby of the motel was nice enough. Appeared to be clean, but out of date. The pool area was very nice. It has a bar area which was nice. The “heated indoor pool” was actually outside with a roof over it. It was still too cold to swim.
The bad:
We room we originally booked (319, I think) was horrible. For starters, it was extremely dated. To the point I don’t think it has ever been renovated since the place opened. I went to lock the door, and the door wouldn’t even lock. We called the front desk and they moved us to room 209. The room appeared to be newly updated. (New floors, new tile in bathroom, and new fridge.) let me just say, the floors were DISCUSTING. My 2 year old walked around barefoot for maybe 2 minutes and her feet were BLACK. The room was very hot upon entering, so we called guest services again to explain the situation with the air and the floors. They offered for us to switch rooms yet again. We went to look at the room and it was clearly a “smoking room”. We do not smoke and will not stay in a place that reeks of smoke. We said no to that room as long as they would mop the floors. We decided to let the air situation go because it was nice weather and I brought a fan. The reasoning they didn’t have air was because this time of the year they have switched to heat and there is no turning back until summer. Did anyone show up to mop, NO. I checked for bed bugs, didn’t see anything but when we got home, there was a very small bug on my pillow. STAY AWAY!! ❌❌

Room was okay. Definitely can tell it's not a big tourist spot. Some areas are dirty and not maintained. The indoor pool isn't indoors, it's just under a roof. It's cold out so I thought I could still swim but it's still exposed to the outdoors and not even connected to the main building. The hallways are outside too. No extras, just a bed basically. Cheap enough though.

Front desk needs to be professional while speaking to guest and housekeepers need improvement in cleaning wise. Other than that, the hotel is nice and right by the beach. Pool is clean and the heated pool is clean (very enjoyable).

Had a fun time here on vacation with my girlfriend. Room was very nice and clean. Balcony right on the beach. Nice pool. Mini golf outside as well with just a few holes. Had a good price for 1 week in Daytona. Couldnt beat it anywhere else.

It's on the ocean, has an outdoor pool, a kiddie pool and an indoor heated pool. Also has miniature golf and shuffleboard.
Inside there's a small restaurant, a beachy boutique clothing shop and a game room. It also has a tiki bar outside and a showroom with a bar inside.
I would have given it higher rating but they're still dealing with damage from the hurricanes so the normal maintenance has taken a back seat for the moment.
All told though, it's a very relaxed and family friendly beach resort where there's literally something for everyone.

The outside appearance was nice,however the rooms need work.the hallway outside our room smelled of mold and whatever they were using to cover the smell.took two hands to open sliding door cause track was so dirty.maid service was poor . elevator was behind in inspection. Toilet got stopped up and when we called said they were sorry maintenance man wouldnt be in til 9 they had no access to plunger.showering was a nightmare as water went from extremely hot to cold. Could not get a steady temperature.ice machine on our floor didn't work,had to go another floor and it was rusty and dirty.no ice buckets in rooms . freezer was frosted over.no oven.over all not a pleasant stay.would not recommend to anyone!

Could be a really nice resort they were remodeling so Im cutting them some slack on appearance. The room was dated, but had all the essentials. Most staff were friendly, a couple were rude. They had this bizarre towel policy and the towels were so small, rough and awful So I do suggest bringing your own beach towels. Great ocean front/beach front views and pools.

It was okay but it was not the best. It's close to the beach but the room we payed for was not good. There was no room. The kitchen was small unlike what other had said. From what the pictures show, the hotel looks better I'm them than in person. The maid service wasn't too bad other than coming at 8 in the morning. Some people like to actually sleep when they're on vacation. They didn't have much to offer. They give you a coffee machine but no coffee or anything. Was expecting a gym and there were ants everywhere.

Our room had a full kitchen. Bathroom had been updated. And best of all we had a beach front room!! The carpet I the room was old though. We also had a couch that pulled out into a full size bed. Easy beach access. Bar and grill on site. Heated indoor pool was nice. Pool outside was big and nice. Overall our visit was great and we'll be back there again.

This was one of the worst hotels/ inn's I have ever stayed at. The room that we had stayed in looked like it had never been vacuuming since they first open there was gum on top of the tv stand with dust.One night we seen a cockroach crawl across the table . And every morning and night it smell like someone smoke a Carton of cigarettes in our room (mind you none of us smoke). There was no reason to complain to the front desk because they were no help at all. And the restaurant/bar grill on the "resort" should be closed down by the Health department for sanitation reasons the cook didn't wear a hair net or gloves, and at one point I see her grab bacon for one plate and put it back on the grill. And the elevator was about the scariest thing I have ever been though one point you feel like it was going to drop to your death (just like tower of terror). It shake every time it got to the second floor. And the heated indoor pool was a joke wasn't heated at all and at one point I seen hair wrapped around the ladder and some was even floating in the pool. And the golf course area well that was mess too. This hotel/inn "RESORT" is NOT up to code.

Our room 327 was very clean, we had everything we needed and the condo owner has updated everything. We loved the view and the pool and tiki area, and having a separate bedroom instead of a studio was a plus. This room has more than enough room for 4 people. We had two teenagers with us and they loved it here also. The reviews for the other condos owned by HI were not very good, but the condos that are seperately owned had very good reviews. We will be staying here again when we come back to Daytona Beach.

We really enjoyed our 4 day stay here! Our room had a big balcony with beautiful views of ocean! Decent price & really nice clean pool area. Cute little bar next to the pool, also a small wading pool for toddlers n small kids. I ordered breakfast 3 days from cafe & it was delicious each day!

Let's start with the good. The view from our room was amazing. Having said that, the rooms were absolutely disgusting. Mold everywhere. Things are falling apart and the entire room was filthy. We actually switched rooms to find that the second room was just as broken and dirty. The air vents leak, leaving puddles on the kitchen floor and u can see the mold and filth in the vents. Everything is falling apart and our room was non refundable. Thank God the weather was amazing and we spent minimal time in the room. I wouldn't recommend for a rat to stay in this hotel.

The Building is little dated,but the view from rm 539. Is well worth it. Close to everything.This rm is like new.ALL TILE FLOORS NEW BIG SCREEN,FRIDGE,FURNITURE. AND VERY AFFORDABLE. POOLS ARE CLEAN,BEACH IS GREAT. There is remodeling going on in the building but That is what it takes to update it all. Definitely stay again.
