The staff at Hands is super helpful. They take the time to educate you about diamonds and are never pushy about making a sale. They're products are all fantastic quality, but they'll work within your budget. Plus, buying from Hands, you have the security of knowing the business has been around for over 150 years.

After dodging a few bullets in my 20's I proposed to my girlfriend of 10 years. I was real nervous about the ring situation because I'm clueless with that stuff. So I went to Hands Jewelers in Downtown Iowa City and Charlie the Diamond expert walked me through all my options within my budget. There was no pressure for an upsale and he was glad to help with the many Diamond options in my price range. My girlfriend is picky and likes big huge jewelry so I had a custom engagement ring made that was as wide as half of her finger and made from Sterling Silver. We had to come back 3 times to get it resized and fitted perfectly to her finger. Everyone at Hands was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and very happy to help with all the adjustments. I highly recommend Hands Jewelers for all your jewelry needs and it feels great to Support a local business!

Hands Jewelers is by far the best jeweler in the area if you value quality, one of a kind jewelry, and EXECELLANT customer service. I first had shopped at Hands 5 year ago for a wedding ring and the service levels and true genuine interest in their customers that the Hands staff emulates really sold me. Charlie at Hands was so great to work! He helped me create a truly one of a kind perfect wedding ring for my wife and I couldn't have did it without his help.

Just recently I visited Hands Jewelry and Charlie again to upgrade my wife's diamond (as a anniversary gift) and again I was just blown away by the genuine desire Charlie and the staff had towards exceeding my expectations, and more importantly my wife's.

I could go on and on about why Hands Jewelers are doing business the RIGHT way, which is putting the customers first and foremost, but a review doesn't do them full justice. Just go stop in the store, ask about their decades of local business and support, and see for yourself why they are the best!

2 years ago I purchased my engagement ring and wedding rings at Hands. The help and service was exceptional. There was no rush to buy anything and they took the time to help me pick out the perfect cut of diamond to place in the ring. Since then my wife and I have continued to go back and every time is the same. The staff remembers who you are, helps with anything you ever need and most of all is honest about everything they sell in their store unlike many other places I have looked at. There is no other place I will ever shop for jewelry and highly recommend Hands to everyone!

A long time I bought a bracelet when I was young girl and I wore it everyday n one day taken it off not thinking i would lose it. I checked other jewelers to find a same or even similar bracelet to no avid. I would get responses like "this is pretty" or "nope, nothing I've seen" had given up, thinking It was just a memory from my childhood and lost. Then I met Linda from hands Jewelers(I felt at this time I could try one more time) and she spoke with me and I describe it and even drew it and before I knew it we were looking through a catalog of bracelets and found my missing bracelet I dearly loved. If you can remember your favorite bracelet/necklace/charm she can help you find it. You won't find that elsewhere.

I worked with Beth Beasley at Hand's Jeweler's to purchase an engagement ring for my girlfriend (and now wife). She was an absolute joy to work with and the entire Hand's staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in assisting me. Later on my fiancé and I went back to purchase our wedding bands there as well. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for high-quality jewelry.

They are very polite and welcoming people! I went in to see if my ring that my mother have gave me before she passed away was real or fake and wanted it to be restored. But it wasn't but, they cleaned it and made I look so beautiful!!!

Hands Jewelers is by far the best jewelry company in Iowa City! Marcia and Charlie worked closely with me and their custom jeweler to design the perfect engagement ring! I'm a very particular person and they managed to create exactly what I was looking for. They will do whatever it takes to get it right so you are happy with you purchase. Everyone at Hands Jewelers was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I can't recommend a company any more than I do Hands Jewelers.

My engagement and wedding rings are absolutely amazing! Hands is the only place I trust for my jewelry! My fiancé picked Hands originally because of the immediate reassurance he felt when he talked to Lisa upon purchasing my engagement ring. The quality of the band, diamonds, and mounting are stunning! On top of the jewelry itself, the customer service is excellent every single time I've been to Hands or talked to anyone on the phone! Linda is also great to work with and is very helpful. She really cares and understands any needs you may have and will make sure you're satisfied! I can't thank Hands Jewelers enough!

Hands provides all of the benefits of both large, nationwide jewelers and local, more personal stores. If you're searching for something with a local touch and want to work with salespeople who are genuinely attentive to your jewelry needs, this is the place to shop.

I can speak specifically to shopping for an engagement ring and, eventually, wedding bands. I worked with Rachel, who is the assistant manager at the store.

When I started shopping for an engagement ring, I did my own research online to learn about various ring settings and how to shop for a diamond. I wanted to do firsthand research because I was skeptical about whether a salesperson at a store would give me an honest assessment, or instead try to up-sell me to something more expensive.

It turns out I probably didn't need to do so much research when working with Rachel. I went in wanting to creating a custom ring, and she was attentive to both my stylistic preferences as well as my budget constraints. Through her expertise she balanced those considerations and helped me put my abstract idea into an actual design. Once I finally ordered the ring, she kept me up to speed about its progress and eventual delivery (I had moved away from Iowa City by that time). The ring turned out perfectly, and as I've already foreshadowed, when I proposed my fiancee said yes!

My fiancee loves her engagement ring, and as a couple, we have a special affinity for Iowa City because it's where we met. Because of that, and because Rachel was so easy to work with the first time around, we decided to go back to Hands to shop for our wedding bands. Neither of us had a solid idea of what we wanted, but we had some general thoughts on what we liked and what we didn't. We took those thoughts to Rachel, and she helped us pick out two bands that really match our preferences. Again, she was extremely attentive to both jewelry preferences and budget considerations.

On top of the actual (3) rings being so great, Hands and Rachel add other little touches that make the jewelry-buying experience enjoyable. Every time we've gone in to the store, they've offered to clean my fiancee's engagement ring at no cost. The jewelry boxes and wrapping that the rings have come in are always elegant and classy. They have provided all of the specifications about the jewelry that we need to insure it. And they have convenient financing options.

Overall, I can't speak highly enough about Hands. Go here if you want a personal, easy, and excellent jewelry-buying experience.

This is my absolute favorite jewelry store! They have the best quality jewelry, and the customer service is outstanding. If something comes in that they think I may be interested in, they give me a call. Every time I stop in, they clean my jewelry, whether I purchase anything or not. The staff is so helpful and fun! I enjoy EVERY visit to the store. I try to send all my friends to Hands, because I want them to experience what I have experienced. All my friends know that's "my" store! No other jewelry store compares! We purchased our wedding rings here. Scott had a wonderful experience with Bill in finding the right diamond for my ring. Marcia has always been my person at the store, and she's been there for me for may years now. We don't have a giant budget, but I'm always made to feel at home here, and I feel like I am always treated like family. Whenever I've needed repairs, Dan has done an amazing job. I've also purchased gifts for my boss, for weddings, birthdays, at the store. It's just a wonderfully fun place to be and to shop.
