Just a short walk from the bay and public transit, the Hampton inn is a close to it all. With well appointed rooms and service that knows the area, the Hampton inn is the place to be. Their breakfast has many options and leaves you ready to take on the day. I'd recommend this hotel for somebody who wants something much better than economy without completely breaking the bank.

Staff are very friendly, room is spacious and very clean. Hotel is located within walking distance of the pier, attractions and Seaport Villiage.
Minus one star for no self-parking. Otherwise a great hotel to stay in while visiting San Diego.response / report this review -

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, and a nice room. The noise from the rail line behind the hotel can be frustrating if you're a light sleeper though. Location-wise, you're nearby a great area with a lot going on nearby, whether you're a tourist, or want to enjoy a night out. If you don't have your own transportation, the aforementioned rail line offers tram service to the entirety of the city.

Bed is comfortable, the placed is clean with a breakfast. Beautifully situated by four railroad tracks and a crossing. You get to listen to the dinging of the crossing multiple times an hour. If you want peace and quiet this is not the place.

Nice location right at the harbor. Complimentary breakfast and shuttle to airport. Room was clean however, the refrigerator didn't work and had to be replaced. There's is no commisssary for incidentals or snacks. Also, the hotel building is located next to another building under construction, and we were not told that workers start at 7am. We could hear the workers talking and the noise from their tools was very disruptive.

Nice place. Clean rooms with a fairly attentive staff. I really liked the daily riddle they leave on the lobby wall. I would recommend this to a friend.

Called for shuttle from the airport, we were very early for check-in but Ryan had already called housekeeping and our room was made up promptly. Great service, kind, smiling, always asking if there was anything you needed! Close to Little Italy, Italian Market on Saturday's, and can walk to Seaport Village and the Midway. It was above and beyond a typical Hampton Inn due to the staff. Everyone was very pleasant!

Great location with friendly service for a very fair price. Had a long layover and the shuttle picked us up and took us back the next morning. We walked or rode the trolley everywhere we wanted to go. Little Italy is super close and has lots of dining/drinking options. The hotel looks like it has been updated pretty recently. Can't comment on breakfast because we left to early to experience it.

Decent hotel but be careful of train tracks nearby. Very loud and very often. Great location for walking and sight seeing. Could use newer elevators, lines pretty much all the time. Great staff very helpful.

Clean and up to date rooms. Good breakfast and complimentary coffee and tea 24/7. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Located right in downtown with public trans right next door.

Friendly staff. Clean and spacious rooms. The only downside is that the hotel is next to the train and trolley tracks. You will hear the trains and crossing gates early in the morning unless you are a very sound sleeper. On the up side, the hotel is near the trolley system.

Nice location near Little Italy. Heavy comforter that slipped off the bed. No microwave in the room. Took 3 calls to get my bill correct. Additional charge $25/day to park and not told before hand. Lots of construction going on.

Decent rooms in San Diego close to Little Italy. Lots of great dining near the area. Quiet area, so not much nightlife going on unless you know where to go. Pretty safe around here too, even at night. Easy access to public transportation.
