Nothing spectacular about this hotel, but the location to the freeway makes it desirable. Rooms are fairly modern, but not new.
Pro Tip: If you can find an open space, there is free overnight parking behind the hotel on the street!response / report this review -

The hotel is her the edge of Little Italy. Great area with lots of food and drink options. The hotel is nice in the fact that most of the rooms have balconies. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is because a few times I checked in after 11pm..I could NOT get foam pillows in my room.because housekeeping was closed and I haf to wait until 6am for housekeeping to open?! What is that about? Also, some of the front desk staff was not very helpful or friendly.

We had a wonderful time at the Doubletree San Diego. Our room was clean and well appointed. Even though it was a bit cold, we braved the weather and took a relaxing dip in the hot tub and you cannot beat the view of the skyline. We can't wait to come back!

Decent downtown hotel. Good location to Little Italy. Breakfast was pretty good. The rooms were a little beat up but good size and clean. Front desk service was good. Overall good hotel.response / report this review -

Beautiful view if you aren't afraid of heights. Employees aren't helpful and taco Tuesday buffet is a ripoff. Buffet is open from 4pm to 9pm, $20.00 for the buffet that you can't eat as much as you want. If you get 2 tacos at 4pm and you come back at 5pm to eat one more, you won't be able to unless you pay $20.00 again. You can bring the tacos to your room but you can't go back for seconds without paying. Tacos can't be saved for later because there is no fridge or microwave, plus tacos aren't good when they are cold. Also parking is terrible if you aren't in a small vehicle. That's why there is no valets because parking is dangerous.

Depends on which room you get, but the balconies are very nice. Most rooms are updated and the location is walkable to the waterfront. A few restaurants and a couple small markets nearby. A quick hop to the airport makes this very convenient for short stays as well. Lots of homeless around thoughBut that's most of San Diego.

Only stayed for one night, had the chance to use the pool which is not very deep. My parents did not like the small beds. The location is great and so many restaurants and attractions in a downtown area. Every room does have a balcony. Parking is really narrow. Took us a while to exit the building. Still good stay for overnight.

The hotel is very clean, the bathrooms are reasonable. This seems like mostly a business hotel; the baths are small, the sink is small, there is no mini fridge. The Pool closes at 10:00pm, which is kind of a bummer because it would have been nice to unwind before bed. The walls are pretty thin, like you could join in your neighbor's conversation whenever you want. Everyone seems nice and I would stay here again.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. As a Hilton honors member we received complementary bottles of water and our choice of staying on a higher floor. When the front desk attendant found out we were honeymooning, she provided us with two complementary breakfast tickets.
Our room was very specious including a huge bathroom with walk-in shower. The bathroom had very nice toiletries with mouthwash, body wash, facial soap, shampoo and conditioner.response / report this review -

Their service was incredible. They were very welcoming, engaging, and remembered all the little details. They offer free water and warm chocolate chip walnut cookies! Location is right off the freeway and at the beginning of Little Italy's farmer's market on Saturdays. If you're willing to walk, its accessible to downtown about a mile walk. Great location, but a little pricey for what we got. Was here for a bachelor party and went for the two-story suite. It was a nice view, and had what we needed (beer fridge) but lacked a microwave. The bathroom also wasn't ventilated, which was fun for three guys and the room itself was a little dated and dare for a renovation. We were able to get a roll away bed though and again had great access to Little Italy and the Gaslamp.

Hotel is located in the great Little Italy area of downtown San Diego and is in walking distance to a bunch of great restaurants, bars and breweries. The onsite parking garage is $25 and is all indoors but the ramps are very narrow so if you have a wide vehicle you may have trouble. The staff is fantastic, friendly and attentive. The rooms are very clean and comfortable everything you could want.

This place is the total package. Impeccable service, beautiful location, superb accommodations. The only thing is we thought the food was average. Being they have events and weddings going on it's understandable food is produced on a large scale. We utilized the concierge which was extremely helpful. We look forward to our next visit
