One of the better hostel experiences of my life. Considering the size of the dorms and it being during SXSW, everyone was very respectful and quiet. Common area is nice, food/coffee in the morning is appreciated. free towels and showers clean. It's a little further out of town but the walk is nice and location is peaceful. Felt safe at any hour

Everyone at HI Austin was amazing. Spent SXSW Weekend and it was great. Wonderful food for breakfast. The location is on the Lake Austin Side. Rooms and showers are clean. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Really nice place, very relaxed environment. They have lockers you can put your stuff in, provide you with towels, blanket, and comfortable bed. Definitely will return my next visit out here. :)

Great place good employees, free breakfast, Modern unique bed environments, friendly (college like) setting. . Friendly Helpful Staff. Generous Amenities. Large rooms have 14 beds. Overlooking the Colorado river. This modern Hostel is a 2- minute walk from the Ann and Butler Hike and bike Trail.

Staff: They're really friendly and go above to ensure a pleasant stay. Location: The city's best watering holes in the 6th St district are very nearby, so enjoy to the best attractions the city has to offer Amenities: Breakfast is the usual affair with toast, fruits and milk. So should suffice many student travelers. It also has free parking if you need it. Overall: I'd say the experience was good

Stayed here twice in the last couple months. Atmosphere is pretty cool and they have social events every once in a while. Beds are comfortable and there are plenty of blankets in case the room is too cold. The bathrooms are pretty bad though. The floors never feel very clean and the toilets are kind of falling apart.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Austin. The travelers are awesome, the staff is friendly and super chill. If you have an Austin ID don't think you're gonna get in, no residents allowed to stay

This place is a great hostel. Check in was easy and friendly. The bed was clean. And breakfast is nice and early. (I'm having bananas in cherios with black tea. But pancakes are available.) The lake view from the lounge area is remarkable! I really need to make a nice long vacation here as it looks just like the perfect place to relax.

The location was awesome. It was right on the lake, so you could walk outside and lounge, paddle board, or walk right there. Parking was a touch difficult, and the cleanliness wasn't the best in the bathrooms (female). The staff was also hard to get a hold of. I called twice and never got a response, plus waited at the front desk for 5 minutes to check in. Overall though, it was a great experience. I've been to many HI hostels, and I would certainly return to this location.

Absolutely amazing stay at HI Austin Hostel. Blew away my expectations. First time staying in a hostel, everyone was super friendly. Kenny, the manager, took us on a very fun pub crawl after a great happy hour with free drinks at the hostel. Breakfast was perfect, simple and easy. Bathrooms were being renovated but there was a private shower that we were allowed to use that had no issues. Paustin was a great front desk receptionist, helped my friend make a same-day reservation. All in all, I hope to be back soon! I think I may have been a little spoiled by such a great first hostel experience, but if you're in Austin, take this as a recommendation to stay at HI Austin! At a quarter of the price of an average hotel, and an incredible, beautiful view of Ladybird Lake literally in the back yard, you can't go wrong.

This a great place for those traveling through, exploring, or transplanting to Austin. This place could really a fresh coat of paint and an event coordinator. There is so much going on in the city where someone who organized daily events for the guests.

Beautiful location situated right on the water and you have many really great people staying there. Staff is very competent but some are not always enthused to help solve small every day problems. Would definitely recommend it to others if you're driving. If you are carless just know its a 30 minute walk to most chill places to hang out or you'll be taking the bus or a rented bike.
