My wife and I just enjoyed dinner at Green Pig with out of town family. Our 5:30pm reservation allowed us to soak up the rustic-chic atmosphere as the restaurant came to life for the evening. Our server was attentive and pleasant.

The standout dishes were the kale salad appetizer and scallop entree. The kale salad was delicious and contained a generous portion of anchovies. The scallop entree was also a very generous portion; the flavor was great and texture of the scallops was spot-on. Well done!

Our party also enjoyed the gnocchi appetizer, pork schnitzel, pork & veal meatballs (not dry at all) , and hanger steak. I would recommend any of these choices. I also recommend roasted brussels sprouts and cornbread with maple butter.

Prices are a little high, though not out of line with other DC area establishments. Overall, a very pleasant dinning experience.

Fantastic fine dining with an ever-changing menu. Upscale cocktails and inventive starters are the stars of the dining experience. Sharing dishes is recommended, as are reservations. Dessert does not disappoint, although it does add up on the final bill; expect to shell out $75-$100 per person for a full meal with drinks.

Not a lunch spot for vegetarians. Very limited menu. Not being a fan of mushrooms, the only choices were fried pimento cheese balls and a salad of mixed greens with a few slivers of radish (I passed on the raw onions). My friends enjoyed their bacon burgers (the bacon is ground into the beef).

The food was great. We had brunch here and we ordered the traditional American breakfast with bacon and the cod sandwich. The sandwich was great but the multiple pieces it appears to come in sort of falls apart if you try to eat it as a sandwich. No issues with my traditional American breakfast, though.
The staff seemed friendly enough but it felt like they were constantly asking us if we needed anything to sort of push us out of the restaurant when we hadn't ordered anything after our meal.
Also, $4 for a plain coffee with cream? Even if it was free refills that was a lot pricier than I anticipated.

We love the cuisine as much as the staff. Both are exquisite. Ask for one of the three Alex's they'll take care of you like your one family---only this family isn't dysfunctional. Cheers to bringing authencity back into the kitchen.

Brunch at Green Pig Bistro is divine! The food is very tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The wait staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and very courteous. The combination of the andouille sausage and grits was quite unusual and delicious. The décor of the restaurant is attractive.

Had shrimp and grits for brunch. Very buttery grits, the grits spicy and flavorful. I really like the interior decor and the vibe, chic and casual and family-friendly, all at once.

Loved the decor around the restaurant. Very visually appealing with the enamel cookware and showcase of books between the rooms. I enjoyed the beef burgundy, however there wasn't much beef. I always bring food home because I fill up easily. With this meal, I was still very hungry afterwards. For the size of the meal, I was not impressed however the taste was wonderful. For the price, I was expecting a larger portion. I'd come back, but may pick something else that I get my money's worth. One thumb up.

We started with the fried pimento cheese which was delicious. Just the right amount of filling for an appetizer. For the main course, the meatballs and salmon. They both were well prepared. The beets with the salmon were excellent, and gave it a good flavor combination. The dessert, cinnamon bun bread pudding, was amazing! The atmosphere is comfortable, but the place can get loud. On a weekend night a reservation is recommended. The food all seems excellent, service was solid even for being so busy, and they have a good selection of beers. The price point is on the high side, but so is about every other restaurant in the area.
