Big Bear is always busy, and with good reason. The coffee is great and the baked goods are enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed and calming. The outdoor seating is perfect in the summer. Recommend grabbing a drink there after work.

Cute coffee place. Food is amazing. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, and it was so good. They also have a nice patio, would be great to sit under out there under a sunny beautiful afternoon!

A couple weeks ago my husband and I grabbed coffee and breakfast at this location. The street beside it had a fantastic outdoor market and the cafe's outdoor seating area was so quaint and set apart from the craziness despite the chilly weather. The staff was quick and polite and the drinks were great. My husband's breakfast sandwich was okay. My quiche, on the other hand, is why I'm remembering to write a review weeks after the fact.I don't know what I ate other than an unattractive rubbery mess, but it was like no quiche I'd ever seen. The nearly wilted pile of greens next to it was the best tasting part. What was really heart breaking, at the market, feet away, there was a delicious-looking quiche for sale and was cheaper. Oh well, I'd go again.

I had gotten a regular drip coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee was severely under extracted and I ended up throwing it away after a few sips. Fortunately, the staff was nice and my wife loved her iced vanilla latte. The prices were slightly high, but it's to be expected for the area. Lastly, the Apple butter bagel was tasty. Considering the bad coffee, but nice atmosphere and service, I give this place an average rating.

Great little café with a fab patio. In good weather, it can be quite crowded. Order from the menu and pay inside and your food will be brought to your table. Good salads and breakfast and the best brownies on the planet. That's not something I say lightly!

Lovely cozy atmosphere. Warm neighborhood feel. Friendly staff and great food. Taste the grapes growing out front on your way in.

Coffee Shop Gem. Big Bear is more than a coffee shop, it is a sanctuary for anyone who wants to be themselves. The food and coffee is great and the environment is even better. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and they always have some nice pastries on hand as well. Staff is wonderful, eclectic and down to earth. Speed is not the primary focus of this Oasis, so it is not always the best for quick, in and out service. However, if you don't mind a short wait or want to soak up the atmosphere, this is the place for you.

Great black coffee. This place has a cool pet friendly outdoor area and a hip inside always with nice brews and delicious meals. I recommend the breakfast burrito with whatever meat (or none) you are feeling that day.

Good food and coffee. Relaxed atmosphere. Open all hours. Good for puppy sightings! Staff have an attitude though - wish they'd get over it!

Breakfast burritos and cold brew in a socially progressive space? You know it. The patio is beautifully shaded by vines and is very cozy. Their muffins have rocked my world once or twice also.

Nice little spot with a cool atmosphere and great outdoor seating (indoor available too). Tried the iced coffee and a breakfast burrito. Both were good. The place was packed when we stopped by on a Sunday morning.

Food was pretty good for a coffee shop! Chorizo tacos were on point. They know how to make a decent Moscow Mule which was a pleasant surprise. Most places can'tit's a simple drink so for me a good way to judge basic competence. The patio is very nice although I wish it had more outlets. Staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend.

Big Bear hosted my family for dinner here the night of my wedding on 12/28 (10 people total), and it couldn't have gone any better. Big Bear was extremely easy to work with in getting everything set up, they were great at communicating options and working with me to ensure everything went as planned. We essentially rented out the entire cafe for the night (which wasn't cheap, but it was totally worth it). It was a simple set up, just one long table with a few candles, custom printed menus (nice touch!), but it was perfect. We wanted quality and something "special," but not too fancy. This fit the bill exactly.
The food was AMAZING, very high quality, family-style, and I have never heard so many people rave about skillet mac-n-cheese (my personal favorite). Everything went super smoothly and the service was excellent. The servers did a good job at being attentive but not overly so which made the experience with my family intimate and lovely.
I really loved having my wedding dinner here and would 100% choose Big Bear Cafe again for any other special event!response / report this review
