This park has it all: extensive hiking and biking trails; campground with updated bathhouse; lake stocked with fish; water park (with annual Pirate Day event); skate park; and, sports fields. Right in trendy Reston, this park is perfect for just about every outdoor recreation a person might want to participate in, and it's beautiful to boot.

Lots of varied activities. Bike paths and BMX track, swimming in season, ball fields. A very cool park.

I liked the place here. I went camping here about a couple weeks ago. If you are camping on the campsite, you can ask the park rangers to unlock the bathrooms for you. If not, there are portable bathrooms. There weren't many mosquitoes, but that depends what time you go camping. In the middle, there is a skate park, and a giant field for doing random stuff. There are plenty of trails to go walking.

we stayed to nights in camping area, We enjoyed our stay. It was off season during Halloween festival. The boy scouts were also there. The park was large enough to accommodate all.

If you like riding mountain bikes, definitely head here. Not nearly as technical or demanding as Fountainhead 30 minutes to the south, but there are still some lung-busting hills and rooty/rocky sections depending upon which route you end up taking. Highly recommend a *loud* bell for any and all riders to announce their presence on blind turns, crests, etc. I use a bell and can't tell you how many collisions I've avoided because of it. Although sometimes walkers/runners think it's a good idea to have both earbuds blaring in both ears and they can't hear me. Don't do that - it's not safe for either party.
Regardless of how you enjoy the trails here, have fun and be safe. If you see some litter from inconsiderate, soulless campers, pick up a piece or two so the rest of us with souls can enjoy the park responsibly in all its beauty.response / report this review -

Camped here for one night with my dog in a regular tent camping spot. Unfortunately. It was a very busy weekend and I was given an interior camping spot, which was basically a small plot in a field with no trees and I was surrounded on all sides by families. They also have slightly more private spots along the outer loop.
The bathhouse was very nice with full showers and running hot water. The staff was friendly. There isn't much scenery near the camping area, but the lake and other kid attractions are driving distance away at the front of the park.
Campsite had a fire ring with a built in grill and a picnic table.response / report this review -

Park with lots of fun. Specially the water park. Have options to barbecue or even host a party !! Lake itself is quite big. Seasonal fishing and boating operations as well. My kid enjoys watching ducks here all the time.

Use the park for ten camping. Quiet area with level campsites. Remember to take a pad or mattress. Sites are quite and difficult to drive stakes into. Grill at each site. Park has nice lake with clear shores. Great swimming pool and all the water park rides and slides. Security drives around occasionally. Showers and bathrooms are clean. Convenience stores and fast food places nearby. Reasonable rates.

Man I like this park. It's too big and not too small. I went here a few times to fish, this place is peaceful and seeing others grilling make me hungry all the time.

Great water park! A variety of picnic areas. Very nice campground with excellent facilities. We will definitely come back again.

Nice park but has some construction going on in several areas. Parking can be right for game fields areas when games are on. Bit of a drive to go back to the visitor's center for indoor bathrooms. Visitor's center is behind a sandstone brick wall but help desk lady is nice. Bathrooms are clean.

Great park with numerous picnic areas, a Water Park for the kids, fishing, soccer fields, a skate board park and most uniquely Cricket Fields. After watch the latter, I still don't understand, but it was fun to watch. Seems to be regular "matches" on Saturday mornings.
