Rooms are super small, the beds sheets did not smell as if they were cleaned or changed after previous occupant. Additionally they were not as comfortable as you would expect for the caliber of establishment associated with the Grand Hyatt. Water has strong chlorine fragrance. Dirty room service tray stayed in hallway for over 8 hours before being removed. The only saving grace was the hotel front desk staff. They were fun and extremely helpful.

The Grand Hyatt is in a great location right next to Grand Central Terminal. It's within walking distance of Times Square and Rockefeller Plaza and is an easy subway ride away from many other places in Manhattan and beyond. We even walked from the upper west side, though Central Park, and down 5th Avenue to see the Christmas decorations, to the hotel. I found the hotel to be clean and efficiently managed. It served our needs well for a winter weekend in NYC.

We stated at the Grand Hyatt New York on our only trip to Manhattan. The price was very reasonable, and the lobby and public areas are very well kept. The staff was helpful, and the food at the restaurant was of a high quality. This is close to Times Square, and centrally located in Manhattan. Ideal location for tourist and sightseeing activities. The concierge desk was very helpful.
The reason for not rating a five star was that the room itself had a few deficiencies: the drain flies in the bathroom were an annoyance, and the room was slightly less well kept than the hotel overall. Clean and functional, but not what I would call posh. Still, at the price it was well worth our stay.

The heater blows out a crazy amount of dust/particles. I have really bad allergies and my nose and eyes are about to their breaking point. The table and the glasses in the room were used and dirty. Way too much and too big of furniture in the crowded small room. The room was the ugliest hotel room I've even been in. Dark, extremely small, and ugly decor. The overall black color in the lobby is depressing. Again the dust was the worst part about this place. I understand its an old hotel, but vents and ducts should be cleaned properly! Will never stay here again! Especially for the price you pay!

I am a loyal member and have stayed in the Hyatt’s for 30 nights this year alone. The reason I have given two stars is because I didn’t have a complaint with the upgraded rooms. It was the service (or lack thereof) that pushed me to give them such low ratings during my last stay in early November. I have a lot of friends who hated staying at this location but I was fine - until now. Don’t waste your money on this property - stay at the Hyatt Centric in Times Square or any other smaller hyatt property. Not worth your money.

I was here for a conference. The stage/ballroom area was a pretty good size for everyone to sit comfortably once they opened up the side areas. The reception area was a little cramped relative to the main stage area. Lots of little seats throughout the area if you need to make some calls or get some quick work done. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable.

2 stars for environmental reasons. The building's pipes are so old that it takes over 5 mins for the shower water to get warm. That's a lot of water wasted if you add it up across guests. Because this is pretty much a crime against the planet in my books, 2 stars.

If I try really hard to ignore this, the service is excellent, rooms are clean and spacious and the location is great. I can see that employees genuinely try to offer great service.

Overall, I would choose another hotel next time just because I want to be one less person wasting water.

A nice modern hotel in a great location. It's literally attached to Grand Central Station, so you can get anywhere in the city very quickly, especially the east side. The rooms are clean and well appointed with an emphasis on green. The AC turns off if you are not in the room. Lights automatically turn off if you are not using them.

Very nice spacious room with an incredible view. Bathroom facilities were good. Staff were friendly which was good. The lobby market was good for breakfast if you didn't want to go far

Friendly staff at the front reception area, they told me quickly and nicely where I needed to go and I even got a free chocolate! Biggest plus for me here was the valet, a little pricey but it's worth it for he quick service and how well they took care of me. Especially if you hate driving in the midtown area.

the convenience of this Hotel from the train station is awesome. We liked our room but was disappointed that our on-line check in did not make a difference - we had to wait. Our room had a flickering light problem in the closet and the bellhop was suppose to report to the front desk (we were there 3 days) nothing was corrected. Room size was fine for us. There was a special offer through email for $10 to upgrade room - I had tried to do it again after I read it and said it was no longer available. Called and they said they could not do anything to rectify this - too bad that would have been a great way to make up for the wait to get into the room.

The Grand Hyatt hotel in New York city is an absolutely beautiful hotel if you can afford it. The ambience is electrifying and breathtaking all at the same time. The bar is usually busy but well worth a visit. The downside is that barstaff seems minimal in that you may end up getting your own drinks because the servers are either too busy or nowhere to be found. And when you get the bill for your outrageously over-priced beers, shots, and cocktails, don't faint as I almost did and keep in mind that you are next door to Grand Central Station in the heart of New York City at the lovely Grand Hyatt hotel.

The staff at this hotel are really wonderful. Very attentive and polite. We checked in early and no one reminded us that we were early, they just found us a room and in fact asked what floor we would like Waiter in restaurant was also very attentive

This hotel has lots of competition and is larger than others like Westin or Marriott however it doesn't have simple things like robes or in room coffee maker which would go a long way to make it feel a little more personal even though it's a huge hotel.
