A local favorite. Have been coming here as a kid for birthday parties and 25 years later I come back with my family and it’s just as good as I remember. The combo pizza is our go-to with a couple breadsticks. I love how crispy the bottom of the crust is.

I came here a lot when I was a kid but the last 3 times I've had issues. Beetle bug in our salad, quality of food and service has been poor. I think it's time to find a new place for Italian food

One of the best pizza places period. I use to come here as a kid over 25 years ago and the place is still incredible now.

Good pizza and atmosphere. Prices are a bit high but that's how it goes with pizza places these days. The young staff was attentive and courteous. The gelato was great.

I don't get it. It is better than dominos or mountain mikes Which I guess makes it by default the best pizza place in PG.

Pizza was superb! It's one for those bring the whole family and pig out -type of place.
The ingredients are fresh, the cheese is right, the pepperoni is crispy and the bread sticks are more like bread logs!
Everything as far a taste was delicious, we took out so I didn't really get the full experience just yet but will gladly return to do so.response / report this review -

We stumbled on this place when we tried to find someplace off downtown. Simple gold. A unique place that is beautifully maintained, with so much attention to detail. The fact that it's family-owned made it extra special in its heritage, not your average faceless large-corporation owned pizza joint. Oh! And did I tell you about the massive size?? Definitely the biggest pizzeria I've been to. No complaints about the pizza either. I'd be a regular if I lived in its whereabouts.

41 year ago (1976) my wife and I first discovered Gianni's and we immediately became fans. Back in that day, Gianni's was takeout only and they had 5 chairs for customers to sit while waiting for their takeout pizza. We were loyal customers for 3 years and then we moved away ( I had been a student at the Naval Postgraduate School) where Gianni's was very popular. To this day there are Admirals in the Pentagon reminiscing about the great pizzas from Gianni's. I memorized the Gianni's phone number 41 years ago and it is still the same. I have never forgotten 649-1500. Over the years, we have been back to Monterey several times and we ALWAYS go dine at Gianni's. They are a giant in the pizza restaurant business. They set a standard against which I measure all others.

Ordered here for the first time since moving to the area. Have had a very hard time finding anyplace with good pizza. I have to say this was about the best so far that I've had here. I've tried all the other chains and they are pretty generic dull tasting pizzas. Gianni"s had good flavor, excellent sauce, and the crust was closer to those I used to get in New York. So I am already ordering again just a few nights later.

EXCELLENT!! Stop here. Eat their food. Great for big parties and kids. This is a no frills place, but the food is fresh and high quality. The gelato is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Staff is polite and efficient. Great prices, good value.

Pizza itself is fabulous. Food is amazing. I'd give the place a 5 if it wasn't for the fact that both times I used the restroom, there were associates standing in the way playing with their hair and talking badly about people. I ignored it. The second time I went in, the same girl was standing in the way playing with her hair, again, and a third associate walked into the bathroom, also playing with her hair, and none of the three tried to clean the bathroom. Toilet paper all over the stall, a trash can was on the baby changing station, which renders that absolutely disgustingly useless. The food itself is amazing, but the female associates need some sort of coaching.

Always the best pizza and atmosphere! I think I like the breadsticks almost as much as the pizza. I would give it 5 stars if they took American Express, but still return whenever I am in town.

Make sure you ask for tomato sauce on your pizza before ordering. System works like this: you go to the cashier, make your order, sit with your number-stick and wait. Refill drinks are free and ice cream is very good. I loved this place.
