checked on line for departure times leaving Salinas, Ca to Reno, Nevada. On line schedule told me there was no trains traveling between these 2 BIG cities, I wasn't about to settle for any nonsense like the info on line told me. I called and talked to a Amtrak representative who was professional, a nice lady and understood my need to find accurate departure and arrival times to get my roommate to her destination as her aunt had just passed. Yes there IS trains & buses leaving Salinas to Reno..all my questions were answered and I can say that if the trains & buses can be of such good service as the lady I spoke with then I will give Amtrak not 5 stars but 10 stars !! Amtrak representative deserves a raise.

Make sure if you take a break and get off when it momentarily stops to not take too long.
The train conductor said this is the #1 stop for people getting left behind by the train!

Very nice people there but remember its still an old town and the place is old and it sucks. It has vending machines and all but if you r just passing by , then get down quickly, get inside, and put that dollar in the vending machine. Its better than the 3 dollar soda.
