One of our favorite places to go in town for a beer or cider. We like sitting in the outdoor area when the weather is good. The food is decent too.

Great food and they were very accommodating to our large party (we made sure to call ahead days in advance so we had a reservation). It was very crowded when we were there on a Saturday night, but the vibe is fun and friendly.

The employees are all friendly and courteous.

Extremely friendly service. It's crowded, but has a great vibe. The food was good, though not fantastic. I had the roast beef, and my fiancee had the corned beef. The ice cream is ridiculously delicious. We had a great time here, and I would highly recommend it!

Incredible experience, a must do for your Monterey vacation. The decor is British maritime as the owner is a Brit. Don't miss the fish & chips. The bar is great and popular with locals.

Great atmosphere for locals and travelers alike! Friendly staff and a full bar. Menu includes traditional favorites. Outside seating available. Nice large bar with plenty of bar stools. Would definitely return when in the area.

Great atmosphere, great food; an all around great bar/pub. Try the Old Speckled hen with a reasonably priced Pastie (a meat pie big enough for two as a snack served with brown gravy). The daytime bartender is really friendly and very knowledgeable and will make just about anything. I recommend a Pimm's Cup after your beer. Can't speak highly enough of the place.

This place has some of the most wonderful pub food I've had in a while. We stumbled across this place on our drive up to SF and could not be more pleasantly surprised. The decor while a little cluttered feels somehow well designed at the same time. It's definitely worth the time out to just check it out. I'd recommend the chili cheese wedges. I've never had something so wonderful.

Came here on a recommendation for their fish and chips. The fish was frozen (not fresh) cod that was used, and the fries were standard run-of-the-mill. Also ordered a bowl of their clam chowder as well. It had a familiar restaurant quality taste like it was Campbell's restaurant quality line I've had before. It didn't taste fresh either. Nothing stood out to me about their food, and I would suspect that nothing is made fresh here at all which is a shame considering they're half a mile (or less) from the ocean.

Decor and ambiance was fun and matched the pub-like feel of the place. The bathrooms smelled like urine which I didn't find surprising as well.

The food was just okay. Would I come back? no. Would I recommend it? Not at all.

Three simple, heavenly words: Sticky Toffee Pudding.
The beef stew and pasties were great and the service was fantastic. I recommend that you pass on the rack of lamb though. Our group really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will come back!

One of our local favorites. Consistently tasty food, fair prices and great atmosphere. The multi-talented Nick is great! Crown and Anchor burger (bacon cheddar burger) with fries is $10! Delicious Reuben and great clam chowder. We are now weekly regulars!
