They always have prompt service if you call, the web app for scheduling appointments makes life incredibly easy, and the care is great. I haven't had them need anything major but if they could get my small dog to lay down calmly for a hip x-ray without asking me to help, they must have great staff in the back too. They usually have an adoptable cat in a cage in the lobby which is always cute to see. If you need to stay a while to wait, they have a very comfortable couch, childrens' toys, and a TV.
I have always been very happy at Fitchburg Vet Hospital. The entire staff there is very friendly and professional. You can just tell they love what they do and care about all of the pets they see.
Dr. Lukas and her love of retrievers is very transparent. I’d trust her with our baby boys for sure. Dr. Olsen is also pleasant and easy to talk to about our pups. The costs are higher than average for this area, but we like our vets here, it’s conveniently located, and the evening hours are a major advantage.
Great experience every time. I like the report cards and appreciate the ease of use in the scheduling app. Always meet smiling people behind the desk and I appreciate the efficient drop off and pick up.
My experience was great. All my questions answered and my dog was loved by the whole staff! Dr Lucas is the BEST!
I feel very confident in the veterinarians and their recommendations on how to handle the situations with my dogs over the past years. I also appreciate the veterinarians valuing my opinion, recommendations and requirements in the care of my dogs. Cost of care is always an issue. It's good that I'm given options at different price points to consider. I will stay a customer with my dogs, and I have and will continue to recommend Fitchburg Veterinary Hospital to anyone else who has an issue or just gets a new pup and needs maintenance care.
Dr. Verrill is fantastic! My dog was attacked at the Dog park on Friday afternoon. I was 35 minutes from my vet, and my dog was in pain and injured. I called them and they were able to get me in. It meant that they stayed over an hour past closing. The whole staff is fantastic. They all love animals and care about the humans. I can't say enough good things.
Quick service and wonderful staff. The vet who did my Kitty's wellness exam explained what she was doing and why, and didn't push for any treatments that weren't immediately needed. I chose this clinic mainly for it's proximity to home, but I've been here for a couple of years now and am happy. One downside is that there is a shared waiting area for dogs and cats, and a noisy pup was somewhat of a terror to my kitty as we waited for our tech.

The vets, vet techs, and staff are all kind and thorough. I have had numerous pets get routine care and sick care and have always been happy with their treatment. And they also do house calls!
We are visiting from out of town and our lab started limping this morning. We got there first thing, without an appointment, and they were still able to squeeze us in. The techs were all wonderful, Dr. Gleason was fantastic, and they were all able to figure out what was wrong with our pup. They even offered to send the records of the visit to our vet back in Texas. We would recommend this clinic to anyone in the Madison area.
We've had consistently positive experiences with this vet and Dr. Olsen. They've always been prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly when we've taken our cat there. Most recently, they helped us through a complicated situation with moving overseas with our cat. They took a good deal of the hassle out of that process, and we were super appreciative.
Dr. Olson is terrific. Very thorough and she explains things in an easy to understand way. The vet techs are very friendly as well as being quite knowledgeable. The fromt desk staff are always welcoming and professional. When I have a question they can't answer they are quick to find a staff person who can.
The staff at Fitchburg Animal Hospital have been taking care of our pets for over 20 years. They are very loving with our dogs and we really appreciate that. Especially our dog Diesel, as everyone there knows him. Thanks to all the staff.
The vets here, with the exception of one that has since left, are all, in my opinion, much less than competent in the vet business. They spayed my epileptic puppy and used drugs known to cause seizures. Vet tech's could not competently get a blood sample. Keep stabbing away in the dogs leg until they get a vein. One vet prescribed a drug but couldn't tell me what the correct dosage should be. Vet's and tech's don't like being questioned. I would not recommend leaving your pet with these people w/o your presence.
The staff is caring and professional, the facilities are very clean, and the vets make sure to communicate clearly with you about your pet's care. There is a very small play area for children in the waiting room.
Took great care of my Sergeant. Very thorough and very good with communicating everything (even that a test was 6 minutes from being done).
Very happy with care and service received.
I have been bringing my pets (first guinea pigs and now a puppy) to Fitchburg Veterinary Hospital for a year now and have always received excellent service. The vets are wonderful and seem truly motivated to work with pet parents to make sure our fur babies are as healthy and happy as possible. I would highly recommend this clinic
When we started bringing our pets here about 4 years ago we were initially pleased at the adequate care at a lower price than our previous vet.
However, the care that we've received at this clinic since the beginning of the year has been nothing short of negligent and careless. After months of breathing issues, and 4 visits, we had to *demand* that our dog be given a chest x-ray. It turned out that he had a massive abdominal tumor and lung cancer. The vet at the emergency clinic in Middleton could *immediately* feel the tumor by feeling our dog's side. The vets at Fitchburg Clinic missed this on numerous occasions.
We had to put our dog to sleep that same night because the tumor was in imminent danger of rupturing. This extremely traumatic event could have been avoided had the vet only listened to our concerns.
We will not ever be returning to this vet. We care about our remaining animals too much.
