Beautiful exterior and welcoming entrance. Staff was polite and inviting. Enjoyed the ambiance of the area. Temperature control was perfect, which is a big thing for me. Would definitely visit again.
We only spent one night, it was good for the price and location. We got the American Girl Doll package and the price wasn't crazy compared to some hotels without the package. Friendly service, Rome was great! My only complaint would be the breakfast doesn't have a great selection for what you are paying for at $17 per adult. Free breakfast was included for 1 adult and 1 child with our package but we had an additional adult. If we didn't have the free breakfast, we would've gone out and had more options. An additional update about breakfast is that the system they use to track customers is just a piece of paper with your name & room number on it. I just found a $47 dollar charge on my account for breakfast even though I had breakfast included. They refunded the money but be sure to check your account after your stay in case they charge you the incorrect amount.
Nice hotel in midtown. Ideal location for exploring Manhattan. Service was friendly. Rome was excellent on the front door. Happy hour was a nice touch after a hard day of sight seeing. Rooms were clean and tidy.
I could go on and on and about how wonderful this hotel was. We have been to NYC many times and this hotel by far was the nicest, most spacious, and best customer service we have ever experienced. We traveled with 2 small children and a dog to flee a hurricane and they were the most accommodating. My children loved the door men and we were always greeted with smiles and high fives. The location was perfect as well. Walkable to just about anything! Can't say enough wonderful things! Book it!
Stayed here for a 4 day weekend with my wife and kids. We had an issue with the rooms not being next to each other, and required help from the manager (Franz). He was extremely courteous and professional, and went out of his way to ensure we got the rooms side by side as requested. The rooms were nice sized, and quiet. The rest of the staff were very friendly and also did a great job providing high levels of service. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
The room was newly updated, clean and comfortable. Fair price for a night in midtown. All staff were friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. There is an extra charge on top of room free of $27 but it includes a free wine hour in the lounge between 5-6. Nights were quiet and slept soundly.
Overbook their rooms, always trying to push for the extra dollar at the experience of their guest.
Saw people being turned out into the streets, they don't reroute reservations. Nearly happened to my family member but quickly stopped it.
My room smelled strongly of tobacco despite being nonsmoker. My laundry got ruined and not delivered at the right time. When I politely asked if I could get a room that smelled better or still had to pay the extra charge for laundry, the staff would get pushy and defense. If they had just answered nicely it would have made all the difference - what really bothered me was how crappy the hospitality was from some of their staff.
Wish I had stayed elsewhere. I've stayed in a lot of places in NYC, least favorite by far.
On a plus, rooms were clean and the lobby has a sitting area bar/coffee spot.
I had a good experience here. The rooms were nice, and decent sized for New York City. The cleaning staff did a good job everyday making sure everything was tidy, and the front desk is very polite and even helped me print a few things.
The location is also extremely good. Close enough to everything in midtown, you can walk to all the main tourist destinations. There are also subway stations near by.
I would gladly stay here in the future.
One issue made me give this hotel a 5 star rating. When I got to the room it was very hot and the thermostat was set to not go below 70. I went to the front desk and asked them what they could do because it was unacceptably hot. They said they'd send someone up. I wasn't holding my breath and we went about out day. When we came back they had the thermostat set lower and left us a fan. That's an organization that cares about fixing an issue. Kudos to you and I suggest you give them a try. There is no company that doesn't have issues, it's how they fix them that determines their worth.
This was a horrible experience staying 2 nights at this hotel. Booked a room with 1 bed got a room with 2 beds, customer service was horrible disrespectful people, you have to pay for wifi, dirty hotel, valet parking is horrible takes over 40 min to get a car to the hotel. I strongly don't recommend this hotel to anyone !
Small and clean and a great location close to the subway, grand central, times square, and Rockefeller center. The staff is pleasant, helpful and courteous. There was not a tip jar in site which is very unusual for NYC. I wd definitely stay again.
The rooms are nice but considering the fact it was facing a brick wall and the roof of the adjoining building it was pretty pricey. If you're going to have workers walking around at window level in the morning and the exhaust from the other building running all night you'd hope to be paying less than $300 a night. Same goes for the hammering and power tools at 2 in the morning.
They need a better system for the pantry in the lobby as someone gave my room number when buying items and if the front desk didn't believe me when I disputed the charges I would have been stuck paying for them. You should at least have to confirm the name on the room or something to prevent this happening in the future.
Great location, great and recently refurbished rooms. We stayed in the deluxe king with sofa bed, the room was huge and had a balcony, so pleased!
Friendly and helpful staff.
No bar 🤔 but they put on free wine and nibbles from 5 to 6 each evening, good way to start your night!
Would stay here again.
