Very nice staff, really went out of their way to give us directions and advice. Clean and we'll kept, was near subways, taxis and walking distance to lots of attractions. I would easily stay there again and again.
Good location but I would not stay here again.
Pros: Staff were friendly, rooms clean. Good location. Easy to get a cab.
Cons:
° The shower is a deal-breaker. No curtain, just a partial (non-moving) glass panel. a) A lot of water goes out onto the stone floor, so either the floor is wet or your bath mat is soaked. Miserable. b) Can't really turn on the water without getting sprayed. c) The hot water kind of squeals. Bad enough when you're in the shower but when your neighbor's in the shower, you have to deal with a loud high-pitched drone for as long as they're in the shower. d) Finally the drain is right where you want to stand, gross. The whole experience felt like a high-school locker room.
° A minor issue, the coffee maker is awful--coffee is terrible and it only has a 5" cord so it's super awkward to get in there with the water, etc.
Emily (front desk) made my experience great and enjoyed the little garden shop they have behind the front desk. The room service paper was missing in my room so didn't get to evaluate. One elevator was kinda broken but the water pressure in my room was good. Overall, I'd start here again in the future.
Weekend visit at the right prices. Front desk staff, Vanessa especially, were very welcoming and helpful. Rooms have excellent views and rooftop is fun. One concern is elevator access for hotel guests on the weekends. At night one elevator should be dedicated for hotel guests the other for roof.
Pros:
-the standard room is larger than your average hotel room, plus you get almost a panoramic view
-elevator requires room key to get to any level except ground level so I felt safe there will be no randoms coming to my door
-location is near tons of restaurants, bakeries, bubble tea places
-available pack-n-play for infants
Cons:
-shower door doesn't close so the bathroom floor gets soaked even with towels placed on the floor
-the shower knobs are confusing. one controls the temperature while the other controls the water pressure. There are no indications as to which direction is for what. The shorter knob controls the temperature. The longer knob controls the water pressure
-hailing a cab can be slightly difficult
-pack-n-play had stains
Elegant hotel in China Town. Stayed in a double King room on the second floor, Room was bigger than expected and very well kept. There is a nice roof top bar with views of the city .My only criticism is that the room isn't sound proof , I suppose higher floors wont have the issue but could hear the traffic outside, but have stayed previously in nyc this is pretty common. will still recommend, will suggest earphones for lower floors.
Nice place. Clean and customer service is attentive. The beer garden downstairs is a nice touch. Don't know how the food is but you're in the heart of Chinatownwhy eat hotel food? Enjoy your stay and tip the waiters!
Last week, after a series of comically unfortunate events, I found myself in the position of needing a hotel room in downtown Manhattan ASAP. I was pleased to find out that not only did Wyndham Gardens have an open room but that it was in the heart of the city. The receptionist was kind and welcoming, and the lobby was clean and well maintained. My room was cozy and recently furnished. The bathroom had a lovely shower feature with mosaic tile floor. The bedroom overlooked Bowery Street. Note: if you don't want to be woken up by the sun at dawn, draw those shades! Don't make the same mistake I did. I found the hair dryer and iron to be perfectly adequate. 9/10 would sleep here again.
The room was a little small, but clean and we'll furnished. A little noisy due to the night life and traffic, I would recommend asking for a room away from the streets and bar downstairs and on the roof.
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights for a getaway. Was very skeptical about staying in Chinatown but loved the hotel and location. Very clean and modern. Room was spacious and clean and very comfy. Bathroom clean and modern. Balcony was amazing touch to the vaca. Being able to walk out and look at the city and have a beautiful
View of the Empire State Building. Perfect stay for the best price and close to everything! Only problem was the bathroom shower. I just didn't get the concept of an open shower that was littearly open. But other then that loved the hotel and would stay again.
Definitely recommend this hotel if you in love with Chinatown. Even this hotel is not "typical chinese hotel", the surroundings are amazing. Close to Metro, close to lovely restaurants (also near to Little Italy), lovely rooms with great view, perfect staff.
Hotel is modern and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful which is appreciated. There is a minibar and a bar with good bar food available on the premises. It is also near shopping and all the good restaurants too. Also, it is only two blocks from the B and D subway Grand St station.👍👍👍
I had a nice stay in this hotel. It has a small but nicely designed lobby with a nice hotel bar that serves decent hotel bar food. I think there are two other restaurants on the property as well but I didn't have a chance to try them, and really why would you when you can walk down the street to great Chinatown places. Never having been to New York I can say I felt like it was a safe neighborhood with friendly people around the hotel. Bed was comfortable and although the room wasn't huge it was well designed.
