The staff was polite but the room was dated. The heat was off in the room and the fridge was unplugged. Everything looked worn down.
We stayed here over Thanksgiving for 3 nights. Check in was quick and very friendly. Room is normal sized and nice and clean. Hotel was reasonably quiet given location near highway. They could improve sound insulation between rooms, but couldn't most moderate hotels? The beds were comfy but very firm, which I like, if you prefer a soft bed, you may be uncomfortable. Great pillows. Safe area near shopping and restaurants. Bathroom is a split between sink and toilet/shower. One small issue with shower, I have poor vision without glasses and the shower floor is very sloped to facilitate drainage. This made me off balance a bit, fyi.
They have a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi here which I did not see on website.
Breakfast was good, normal offerings of eggs, sausage or bacon, cereals, fruit, waffle maker, yogurt, muffins, etc.
I would absolutely stat again.
Check-in was fast and the woman who helped us was very friendly. We got a great room on the first floor we had a large whirlpool tub in the main room surrounded by mirrors on two sides. Fabulous surprise! The king-size bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The room was clean and also included a refrigerator. This Fairfield Inn gets two thumbs up from me!
The staff was not friendly and lied multiple time during our stay. The room had a very unpleasant smell. To add insult to injury we called multiple times to front desk about people( kids) jumping and running above us at night, only to be told their was nothing they could do about it.(How about tell them to sit down and behave!) Worst night of sleep ever and I was treated like I was not a guess paying for the room. The upside side was the girl who work the desk when we left Sunday morning. She is the ONLY REASON I’m giving this place 2 stars. Otherwise it would a zero stars.
The hotel is nice enough. the staff is great very helpful. Standard Marriott breakfast Fare. Floors Creak though like a haunted house I feel bad for the people below me. Overall a decent stay near enough to most things in Detroit to be useful.
Don't let the plain exterior of this building fool you, however, in Spring, Summer and Fall, the flowers are INCREDIBLE! The landscaping is beautiful and perfect! It has very clean, modern rooms with extremely comfortable beds, and this is from a woman who has a neurological muscle disease, so the bed was incredibly comfy!! They have a VERY professional staff, educated in Hotel Management. A bar and lounge on the inside with food available for purchase. Breakfast was unbelievable on a Sunday! Salt water pool, I was not brave enough to try, but NO chlorine stench!
Friendly staff. Bed sheets were clean and fresh but bed skirt needs to be replaced as there were public hair along the head board area. Breakfast was hot and good in taste but the scrambled eggs were gone well before closing of morning service time.
The staff was friendly. I was referred to great restraints for dinner. The pillows were better than most hotels I've stayed in. The rooms were comfortable but could've used more sound proofing. They do have excellent shower heads. In all I was clean and well rested when I checked out.
Nice location/staff. Decent coffee
This hotel was fine initially except for some squeaky floors, until I found out I was double booked when I got 2 receipts emailed to me after checkout. I had to book this hotel through my work's application, Egencia, and apparently somehow I was double booked. No one at the hotel bothered to tell me I had booked two rooms when I checked in, I got a key to my room and that was that. No mention about the other room booked at that time. Well after I got two receipts, I called Egencia and they tried to get my money back for the double book, and the hotel refused. I called the manager and was cut off due to "no one else being on staff at the time" and she said she would call me back, which she never did. I think it was all an elaborate ruse to get double the money out of me, and they would not refund Egencia (apparently this is Expedia) so that i could get my money back. So I am out $342 for a work trip. Extremely poor customer service and attentiveness and because of this I won't be back.
Solid rooms at a reasonable price. Fine amenities and a good free breakfast.
They put me in an accessible room. There is a bench in the tub that takes up half the tub. I can't take a bath. I can't take a comfortable shower because half the tub is blocked. I asked to be moved and they refused. The room wasn't ready and I had to wait even though I checked in at 3:30. The top of the hvac is hanging off. There is no microwave. There is noise coming from the hallway. The cleaning people are loud. There is a vacuum running. This is such an unsatisfactory experience. I came here to relax and I can't.
This hotel would have been given no stars had it not been for Jason (night time front desk) and Marla (GM). To make a long story short, my reservation was cancelled without my knowledge and only found out when I got to the hotel after driving 5 hours to get there. Was not given 24 hours notice and no email of the cancellation. There were no other hotel rooms available in a 40 mile radius for the night. Even though it was a HUGE screw up on the hotels part, Jason and Marla helped fixed the situation and the rest of our stay was great.
